Bidenflation: Winter Heating Prices Set To Soar Even if Temperatures Stay Warm

The heating bills for American households are set to soar this year, adding to the inflation woes of many American families.

“We expect that households across the United States will spend more on energy this winter compared with the past several winters because of these higher energy prices and because we assume a slightly colder winter than last year in much of the United States,” a recent Department of Energy study said.

The Energy Department produces a base case forecast alongside forecasts for a winter that is 10 percent warmer and 10 percent colder.

“The November update of our Winter Fuels Outlook forecasts that heating bills for U.S. residences are likely to increase between 6% and 46% this winter, depending on the fuel used for home heating. We forecast these costs will increase much more if the winter is colder than expected,” Stephen Nalley, Energy Information Aadministration acting administrator, said Tuesday during testimony before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Heating oil is set to rise 39 percent compared with last winter in the base case. The warmer scenario sees heating oil rising 26 percent. In a colder winter, oil would rise by 54 percent, the study found.

Natural gas prices are 29 percent higher than last winter in the base case, 22 percent higher in the warmer case, and 48 percent higher in the cold winter.

Propane rises 46 percent in the base case, 22 percent in a warmer weather, and 86 percent in a colder winter.

Electricity prices would rise 6 percent in the base case, three percent if warmer, and 14 percent if colder.

Well...well..well...I wonder who may have started this ball rolling:

Samsung announces plans to build a large semi-conductor chip factory in Texas. The South Korean tech giant announced plans to erect the $17 billion plant in Taylor, Texas on Tuesday to open in the second half of 2024.

The company said the creation of the factory would directly offer 2,000 jobs for local Texans directly and thousands more for the community soon after. Proponents of the move assert it will positively affect supply shortages in semi-conductors faced worldwide.

The impact of pandemic lockdowns as well as more favorable competitive advantages and tax incentives in other countries has led to a manufacturing slump over the past decade in the U.S.

Didja see that the Fed is finally admitting that the inflation thingy isn't "transitory"?
Remember, earlier this year they were telling us not to panic, that this inflation thingy was just temporary and would go away as soon as we fixed covid?

Yeah. Turns out, now they're admitting that inflation is here to stay, but of course they blame it all on employers raising pay to attract help, and since it's pretty hard to cut pay once it's been raised, well, inflation is here to stay.

Next up; Build Back Better won't cost a dime. But, if it does, it's all Trumps fault.

Yeah, I sure did see that...

One of 2 explanations for that....pick which ever explanation suits ya.

1)...they lied their collective ass's off about it...

2)...incompetent hack fucks that have not one clue about how the actual free-market operates...

I'll pick #2...if big government isn't involved...the mother fuckers are lost in a cloud.

And...weren't the hack fucks advocating for higher wages, now they claim, (as it is true to form of pure hack fuck hypocrisy)...that it's the free market principles that have exposed this Nation to higher costs

Eh...I still retain faith in Sen. Manchin...as for Cinema?, the jury is still out on that one.

Share of Small Business Owners Reporting Inflation as Biggest Problem Rises to Highest Since 1981

The share of small business owners reporting that inflation is the biggest problem facing their business grew in December to its largest since 1981, a survey released Tuesday showed.

Twenty-two percent of small business owners reported inflation as their biggest problem, according to the National Federation of Independent Business. At the start of 2021, just two percent said inflation was the biggest problem.

“Small businesses unfortunately saw a disappointing December jobs report, with staffing issues continuing to impact their ability to be fully productive,” said NFIB Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg. “Inflation is at the highest level since the 1980’s and is having an overwhelming impact on owners’ ability to manage their businesses.”

Small business owners remain pessimistic about the future but slightly less so. Owners expecting better business conditions over the next six months increased three points to a net negative 35 percent. The indicator is down declined 23 points over the past six months.

Wages are going up, which could mean for stickier inflation than Federal Reserve officials expect. A net 48 percent (seasonally adjusted) of owners reported raising compensation, up four points from November and a 48-year record high reading. A net 32 percent plan to raise compensation in the next three months.

Thirteen percent cited labor costs as their top business problem, up three points and a 48-year record high reading, according to the NFIB. Twenty-five percent said that labor quality was their top business problem.

The net percent of owners raising average selling prices fell two points to a net 57 percent (seasonally adjusted). Unadjusted, 5 percent of owners reported lower average selling prices and 58 percent reported higher average prices. Eighty-five percent of wholesale reported higher prices, and none reported lower prices. Seventy percent of retailers reported raising prices, with seven percent reporting lower prices. In construction, 74 percent said they had raised prices and give percent said they had lowered prices.

The price hikes are far from over. A net 49 percent said they plan price hikes in the next six months.

The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index increased slightly in December to 98.9, up half a percentage point from November.

I'm sure it is, we know how the bureaucrats alter how things are calculated to fit the intended political narrative....they say food is at 7%, I dont believe that shit at all.

Food gets handled by too many entities before it gets to the shelves, costs have gone up for all of those entities for it to be just 7%, probably closer to 12 or 13%.

Poll: Just 4 Percent Say Economy Has Recovered Under Biden’s Leadership

Only four percent say the economy has recovered under Joe Biden’s leadership, a YouGov poll released Wednesday revealed.

While Biden promised in 2020 he would improve the economy and shut down the virus, few believe Biden has improved the economy from Donald Trump’s tenure.

When respondents were asked, “How long do you think it will take until the economy has recovered all the ground lost during the pandemic?” four percent answered the economy has “already recovered,” seven percent said it would “take less than a year,” 15 percent said a year, 22 percent said two years, and 52 percent said two years or more.

The polling comes as Biden has struggled with tamping the virus from China, fueling 40 year high inflation amid a supply chain crisis and the Fed’s easy money policy.

On Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky told reporters the nation has experienced a 40 percent coronavirus infection increase in the last seven days.

Instead of focusing on reducing coronavirus chaos, supply chains woes, and inflation, Biden has directed his attention to destroying election integrity.

Biden spoke Tuesday about federalizing local elections, which can only be accomplished by removing the 60 vote filibuster threshold.

“Voting by mail is a safe and convenient way to get more people to vote,” Biden claimed. “So they are making it harder to vote by mail.”

“To protect our democracy, I support changing the Senate rules,” he said about terminating the filibuster. “When it comes to protecting majority rule in America, the majority should rule in the United States Senate.”

Additional food price inflation could be on the horizon as rising input costs hammer small farmers. U.S. agricultural producers are reeling from Joe Biden’s inflation due to skyrocketing fuel and fertilizer costs.

A poll by Purdue University found fertilizer prices are expected to increase by 12 percent after a 100 percent increase in costs over the past year. Meanwhile, fuel prices rose more than 50 percent last year.

Market analysts say small farmers are hit the hardest by surging inflation as they remain over-leveraged, under-capitalized and facing labor shortages. Small farms account for 89 percent of farms in the U.S. and they make up 21 percent of agricultural production value.

Economists expect rising input costs to pass on to consumers, pushing foods prices even higher and making more people reliant on food stamps as well as other government handouts.
