We had the discussion of nature with our children and told them if they ever had a question they can come to us without fear of being reprimanded.

 

Mine didn't come from my parents, they were really closed about sexuality. I learned in health and sex ed in school, and an aunt gave me a kind of silly educational book aimed at that puberty age group.

 

We were 2 male siblings in our house. We had talks about it mostly from my dad, and were a lot focused on treating women,consent, and times when you back off and a lot.
With sex education as such, him and mum put an effort and tried teaching us using what happens with animals.
Have to say when we had classes in school it made a lot of sense.

I had a couple of books which were mostly about puberty but certainly helped. We had sex ed lessons in school which while not terrible I wont really say were great. And then there was Biology lessons at school which probably did the most when for teaching me when it comes to the mechanics. In terms of relationships, barely talked about at home and barely covered at all in schools. I had to learn through a combination of unrealistic depictions on TV and first hand experience. My I wouldn't say my family were prudes but at the same time it wasn't really discussed.

I think schools have a problem in that students tend to view their teachers as these aging asexual beings who live at the school and have no social life. Obviously I don't mean that literally but you get the idea. I think what would be better is if there was some sort of group on young adults (20-30) who had official training that schools could bring in for sex ed lessons to just talk to the students about the subject.

 

My parents never ever talked to me about sex. The first time I got my period I told my mom, and she told me to go tell my sister and she'd show me what to do.

I have made it a point to be very open with my kids about sex.

I don't have kids. I don't want kids. I can't have kids. I got a vasectomy a while ago. Some call it "loosing your manhood". I call it "Fuck them kids!".

 

We are very open and honest about sex and nudity in our family. Nothing is taboo about our bodies.

my ex told me that she talked to my spawn and I trusted her... my spawn... god I love him! I have a beautiful granddaughter now and when his g/f ended up pregnant he asked me ... *dad? what did I do wrong?* I was honest, and said you fuck her ass? he blinked like he was lost ... i sighed and told him the truth, she can't get pregnant if you cum on her, in her mouth, or in her ass ... other than that, you did absolutely NOTHING wrong! you are young and accidents happen! what you will do wrong now is mistreat her, no matter how much you may grow to dislike her at some point, you can never EVER say anything bad about her to anyone that might let it slip to your daughter... spoil her mother so she never falls for some guy like you or I, that will mistreat her let her learn from you by your actions ... he asked me is that why you and mom never fight? all I could think was how often she cheated on me and I her ... and said yep! lol

 

My dad explained to me completely how the process works and how to do it. Then he threatened me with how horrible he would make my life if I got someone pregnant before I finished school. I wanted sex but I was scared to death of the consequences.

 

I tried talking to my 2 son's about the do's and don'ts about sex but by the end of the conversation I found out I didn't know a damn thing and they were lecturing me on the subject.

 

Growing up with my aunt and uncle…. The was a minister. Sex was not allowed to be discussed. And I was not allowed to date. I had to figure it out on my own

 

If I were to have any children, I'd just have sex in front of them and explain what is going on and play some good porn

Sex wasn't mentioned when I was a kid! My wife taught my daughter and did a good job of it...I didn't get involved in that discussion
