I am superstitious as a longtime athlete and competitor. It's not the same as the black cat, salt over the shoulder type of things...but certain rituals, avoiding certain things from happening, or saying the wrong thing. I've seen too many instances of players abandoning their superstition, resulting in an immediate regret when Karama bit down hard.

A primitive tribe that believed that it needed to bury the bodies of dead people to avoid being haunted by their ghosts would not be infected by diseases spread by those bodies if they decayed above ground. Very much so. Agree with you Annie about the shoes, one of my biggest superstitions! I enter and leave work the same way every day even if it is more inconvenient. No umbrella opened inside. And definitely no picking up pennies @Geminpa . Get dressed the same way every day too.

 

Absolutely! I always knock on wood, wish on a shooting star or a 4 leaf clover, pick up a penny that's heads up, cross my fingers for good luck, never open an umbrella inside, never walk under a ladder, an itchy palm means money is coming, never step on a crack, never set my purse on the floor, and I always end my year doing something I want to continue doing in the new year.

I was born on Friday the thirteenth, I have walked under many a ladder, have thrown many an unbroken mirror into a dumpster to hear them shatter, and I only put salt on my food, not over my shoulder for luck. Oh, and horseshoes are for horses, and what kind of fucking sadist wants a chopped off rabbit’s foot. Bad luck is karma perhaps.

Yes when my right hand itchs something good is going to happen if it's the left something bad if my right foot itches someone is going to show up but if it left well someone it leaving or bad day and if i see or hear a crow or a raven a cop is near by.

 

No, cause what if being superstitious is bad luck? Then i would be going out of my way avoiding things so i don't have bad luck. Wasting time cause it's actually causing me more bad luck. That would be how it would probably work out for me. Lol
