Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., is calling for answers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after reports that hundreds of migrants are being housed in hotels in states like Arizona.

"I am appalled that illegal aliens are being housed in American hotels. Illegal aliens should be held in [ICE] detention facilities, not hotels," Biggs said in a letter to ICE Acting Director Tae Johnson.

Harris attempts to blame ‘global warming’ for Biden border crisis

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 5:55 PM PT – Thursday, April 22, 2021

Vice President Kamala Harris tried to avoid responsibility for the ongoing border crisis by attempting to blame it on so-called “global warming.”

“When you look at the root causes, we’re also looking at the issues of corruption,” Harris claimed. “Again, we’re looking at the issue of climate resiliency and then the concern about a lack of economic opportunity.”

Harris is advancing her plan to give $84 billion of U.S. taxpayer money to Central American countries, which she has claimed would end mass migration into the U.S. According to reports, she also alleged that so-called global warming fueled economic migration into the U.S, which overlooked centuries of poverty in Central America.

“We are looking at extensive storm damage because of extreme climate,” Harris said. “We’re looking at drought in an area in a region where agriculture is one of the most traditionally important bases for their economy.”

Harris has faced criticism for failing to personally inspect the U.S.-Mexico border as well as failing to condemn the human smuggling and cartel activity in the area.

Lawmakers propose bipartisan bill to tackle border crisis

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 11:15 AM PT – Friday, April 23, 2021

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are attempting to address the border crisis. On Thursday, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce came out in support of a piece of legislation called the “Bipartisan Border Solutions Act.”

The bicameral bill, introduced by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), aims at tackling the surge of migrants reaching the country’s southern border. The legislation, also sponsored by Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar (D) and Texas Rep. Tony Gonzales (R), demands immediate action and requests enough resources and facilities to improve the asylum process and secure our border.

The measure would create four new regional processing centers in areas where the number of migrants is high amid surges.

“So by processing them and sending them to a place where they can have more room and have the benefit of all the various U.S. government officials and non-government organizations to help walk them through the process, we think that’s a better system for them,” Sen. Cornyn stated.

The two senators sent Biden a letter in late March, which urged him to use his full authority to respond to the crisis. Gonzalez added, border patrol is overwhelmed and the measure would allow agents to better secure the frontlines.

“Adding four regional processing centers is critical to us solving this issue,” Rep. Gonzalez noted. “You know, putting border patrol agents, taking border patrol agents out of the processing business, and putting them back in the national security business is what this bill gets at the heart of.”

Another provision in the bipartisan bill would improve the care of unaccompanied migrant children.

“We visited many of these facilities and it’s heartbreaking to see the sheer number of children that are having to go through here,” Gonzalez said. “What worries me is once they leave these facilities, what happens to them then?”

Chamber Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley said the provisions are not only necessary to confront the ongoing border crisis, but “they also need to be considered by Congress as they debate other immigration issues where reform is desperately needed.”

This surprises me. One of the biggest drivers of migration is global warming/climate change that has devastated agriculture and spawned more frequent and destructive hurricanes. The northern triangle countries are also plagued by gangs, violence, and crime. But all those problems are exacerbated by government corruption. And I wondered how Biden/Harris planned to try and deal with that because as it stands now if they sent aid to the people in the northern triangle most of it might be stolen by corrupt government officials before it even reaches the people. So this appears to be part of their plan and its pretty bold before they go into negotiations as a way of saying they mean business.

    26 Apr 2021
The United States on Monday imposed sanctions on a member of Guatemala’s Congress and a former presidential chief of staff in the country over alleged corruption, as Washington presses a number of Central American governments to crack down on graft.

The move was announced hours before US Vice President Kamala Harris was due to meet with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei to discuss an increase in Central American migration that has led to a crisis at the US-Mexico border.

In a statement, the US Department of the Treasury said it had blacklisted Felipe Alejos Lorenzana, an elected delegate in Guatemala’s Congress, and Gustavo Adolfo Alejos Cambara, who was chief of staff under former President Alvaro Colom.

“These sanctions support efforts by the people of Guatemala to end the scourge of corruption, as part of the US government’s commitment to support improvements in governance in Guatemala,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a separate statement.

A senior US official last week said the administration of US President Joe Biden is considering creating a task force of officials from the US Justice and State Departments and other agencies to help local prosecutors fight corruption in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

Ricardo Zuniga, US special envoy to the three Central American nations, also told reporters the US government has authority from the US Congress to craft lists of officials in the region who are involved in corruption, revoke their travel visas and impose financial sanctions on them.

Guatemalan lawmakers recently refused to swear in a corruption-fighting judge, Constitutional Court President Gloria Porras, whom US officials had seen as key to the country’s fight against graft.

Monday’s move, which Washington said was taken in coordination with the United Kingdom, freezes any US assets of those blacklisted and generally bars Americans from dealing with them.

Blinken said Gustavo Adolfo Alejos Cambara and Felipe Alejos Lorenzana “sought to interfere with the judicial selection process for appointing magistrates to Guatemala’s Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) and Court of Appeals.”

He said the two attempted to influence the selection process for magistrates to both courts and to secure judicial rulings that would protect Alejos Cambara and CSJ judges from corruption prosecutions.

How about an even simpler approach?

If you want to immigrate to the United States do it legally.

There's a process. Follow it. We will welcome you if you qualify.

Beyond this, your problems with your government are not our problems. We have no obligation to save you from your government.

So the New York Times published yet another lie, claiming that LEGAL MIGRATION had decreased under the Trump Administration.
    Shooter did not think this was true, so he checked;
Legal Immigration and Adjustment of Status Report | Homeland Security (dhs.gov)

Legal immigration during the Trump administration actually increased, and was decreased only due to the impact of covid and then only in the last quarter of the trump administration.

by checking data available at the DHS website later in the quarter Shooter is positive that we'll see that under the biden/harris administration ILLEGAL MIGRATION has increased to record levels while LEGAL MIGRATION decreases.

Poll: Americans overwhelmingly approve of 'root causes' immigration strategy

A vast majority of Americans approve of the idea of engaging countries abroad to address the causes of migration before it happens, according to a new nationwide poll released Thursday.

Pollster Civiqs found that 85 percent of survey respondents agreed that the United States needs to engage with other countries to address migration patterns.

On a partisan basis, 86 percent of Democrats and 87 percent of Republicans, as well as 81 percent of independents, agree with that approach, according to Civiqs, which conducted the poll for Immigration Hub, a progressive immigration advocacy group.

The Biden administration's approach to surging apprehension numbers at the border is focused on addressing the so-called "root causes" of migration in Central America.

President Biden, in his first speech before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, lauded the approach, led by Vice President Harris, which seeks to separately address acute causes of migration, like natural disasters, and long-term issues in the region, like bad governance and chronic violence.

The poll found that 57 percent of Americans accept illegal immigration when the immigrants are fleeing violence in their home countries.

That support is lower for undocumented immigrants who come for other reasons; 46 percent agree with immigrants arriving illegally to escape poverty or hunger, while 36 percent do if the migrants are seeking to reunite with family members, and 31 percent do if the migrants are looking for jobs in the United States.

“The American people want a smart and humane immigration system that effectively manages the border while allowing America to be the ‘shining city on the hill’ for people fleeing violence in their home country,” Sergio Gonzales, executive director of the Immigration Hub, said in a statement.

The poll also found more support for a high-tech approach to border security than for beefing up traditional enforcement and building a wall, but with substantial differences in support depending on partisanship and from region to region.

Overall, 54 percent of those surveyed support a transition to high-tech surveillance over a wall system and more agents. But 71 percent of Republicans prefer the more traditional approach.

And while the high-tech approach is favored by majorities throughout the country, it receives 58 percent support in the Pacific Northwest, but only 51 percent support in the Mountain Northwest, as well as in Arizona, Utah and California.

Meanwhile, the Civiqs poll is more or less consistent with previous polling on harsh immigration enforcement policies like family separation, which between a third and a quarter of respondents approve of, with slight regional differences.

Support for such policies is lowest in the Mid-Atlantic, where only 26 percent of respondents approved, and highest in the plains states, where 36 percent of respondents agreed with the policies that defined immigration enforcement under former President Trump.

The Civiqs poll was conducted among 3,032 registered voters who answered an online survey between April 15-20. According to Civiqs, the survey has a 1.9 percent margin of error at 95 percent confidence level.

US Supreme Court hands victory to immigrants facing deportation
Thousands facing removal threats from the Department of Homeland Security have a chance to be allowed to remain in US.

In a 6-3 decision, conservative and liberal justices on the US Supreme Court ruled DHS removal notices to thousands of long-term immigrants were faulty [File: Mike Blake/Reuters]
    29 Apr 2021
The United States Supreme Court on Thursday offered new hope to thousands of long-term immigrants seeking to avoid deportation in a ruling that faulted the US government for improperly notifying a man who had come illegally from Guatemala to appear for a removal hearing.

In a 6-3 decision that divided the high court’s conservative bloc, the justices overturned a lower court’s decision that had prevented Agusto Niz-Chavez from pursuing his request to cancel the attempted expulsion based on the length of time he has lived in the United States.

US Supreme Court hears Indigenous tribe arguments on COVID aidUS Supreme Court questions permanent residency for some migrantsUS Supreme Court to hear Palestinian Guantanamo prisoner’s caseUS Supreme Court to hear challenge on carrying concealed handguns

Niz-Chavez lives in Michigan with his family after entering the US irregularly in 2005.

The justices decided that federal immigration law requires authorities to include all relevant details for a notice to appear for a hearing in one document rather than sending the information across multiple documents. The ruling could affect hundreds of thousands of immigration cases.

“In this case, the law’s terms ensure that, when the federal government seeks a procedural advantage against an individual, it will at least supply him with a single and reasonably comprehensive statement of the nature of the proceedings against him,” conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote in the ruling.

Gorsuch was joined by the court’s three liberal justices as well as conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Amy Coney Barrett.

In a dissent, conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh, joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, said the ruling was “perplexing as a matter of statutory interpretation and common sense”.

The ruling upends years of practice by the US Department of Homeland Security and in the short term will slow down the number of people placed in immigration proceedings, said Cornell University immigration law professor Stephen Yale-Loehr.

“It does give them a second chance to try to prove that they qualify for cancellation of removal and other forms of relief,” Yale-Loehr said.

The pro-immigrant ruling comes at a time when President Joe Biden has sought to reverse much of the former Trump administration’s administrative hardline procedures aimed at discouraging migrants from trying to get into the US.

Under federal law, immigrants who are not lawful permanent residents may apply to have their deportation cancelled if they have been in the US for at least 10 years. The time counted to reach that threshold ends when the government initiates immigration proceedings with a notice to appear, a limit known as the “stop-time” rule.

In 2013, eight years after he entered the country, police stopped Niz-Chavez for a broken tail light on his vehicle. The federal government followed up with a notice to appear for a deportation hearing.

After the Supreme Court in 2018 found in another case that notices to appear that omitted the time and date of the hearing were deficient, Niz-Chavez cited his faulty notice to argue that the stop-time rule had not been triggered in his case.

The 6th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Ohio had ruled against Niz-Chavez in 2019, saying that the relevant information can be sent in more than one document. The Supreme Court overturned that ruling.

Other Supreme Court rulings could prove challenging for immigrants seeking to remain in the US.

In arguments on April 19, justices appeared reluctant to let people who have stayed on humanitarian grounds apply to be allowed to become permanent residents if they entered the country without required documentation.

‘Crisis’ Update: Children in Border Patrol Custody Drops 84 Percent in a Month, Time in Custody Drops By 105 Hours

As news organizations and the Biden administration debate whether to call the situation at the border a “crisis,” the number of unaccompanied minors has dropped 84 percent in one month, and the average time in custody has fallen from 133 hours to 28 hours.

As some news outlets clamor for President Joe Biden and his administration to call the border situation a “crisis” while others instruct their reporters not to do so, the central challenge to the system has changed dramatically, according to CNN:

The number of unaccompanied migrant children held in jail-like conditions by US Customs and Border Protection dropped nearly 84% in the span of a month, according to a White House official, underscoring the significant progress made by the administration after reaching record high custody figures.

As of Wednesday, there were 954 children in CBP facilities, down from a peak of 5,767 on March 28, the official told CNN, speaking on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak on the record.

Perhaps more importantly, CNN also reported that “The average time that kids are in CBP custody is now 28 hours, compared to 133 hours on March 28, the official said, a nearly 80% reduction in time spent in Border Patrol detention.”

That new average time in custody is well below the 72-hour legal limit that was being broken through at the height of the problem, which contributed greatly to the bottleneck.

On Thursday, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain tweeted a version of this data, which showed an 82 percent reduction as of April 27.

“Down 82%. In a month,” Klain wrote.

What the hell would it matter if illegals got one letter or a hundred?
It isn't like they are going to obey anything the letter says.
I would think the U.S. Supreme Court would have more important things to decide rather than how many warning letter an illegal is allowed to have sent to them.
    They are not leaving anyway.

And while stumbler pushes the lie that the border is not in crisis, we learn that corruption in the biden/harris administration is popping it's ugly head up out of the DC Swamp mud.

A Texas nonprofit that recently hired a Biden transition official got a contract worth as much as $530 million to help manage the influx of migrant children at the southern border, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: The contract is by far the largest ever awarded to Family Endeavors. It’s potentially worth more than 12 times the group’s most recently reported annual budget — a sign of the demand the new work will place on its operations.

~The no-bid contract also is the second largest ever awarded by the agency overseeing the migrant child program.

~The award comes as the Biden administration rushes to deal with an influx of migrants at the border, including more than 21,000 unaccompanied minors currently in government custody, according to the latest data.

Between the lines: Family Endeavors won the contract just months after it hired Andrew Lorenzen-Strait as its senior director for migrant services and federal affairs.

    Therein lies the rub.

Andrew Lorenzen-Strait landed his job at Endeavors (formerly Family Endeavors) in January straight off the Biden transition team following a stint with one regional Lutheran refugee contractor, and a little over six months at LIRS, the national organization.

He had spent years in the federal government, at ICE in fact, before hitting on this likely lucrative gig.

Calif. opens second emergency child migrant center in L.A. County

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 7:22 AM PT – Monday, May 3, 2021

California has opened another shelter for migrant children. According to reports Sunday. the first group of migrant children started to arrive Saturday evening at the Pomona Fairplex.

Officials said the site can hold up to 2,500 unaccompanied minors and is the second temporary shelter in Los Angeles County.

Some lawmakers have attributed the surge of migrant children at the U.S. southern border to Joe Biden’s immigration policies, including the halting of border wall construction.

“These circumstances have invited this activity to our border,” asserted Republican Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana.

Officials said the children will stay at the Pomona Fairplex until they are reunited with family or placed with a sponsor. Authorities added, the children will be tested for COVID-19 before being transported to emergency facilities.
    =======================================================================================

Yet behold were told it's not Crime boss Biden and the Ho(half cracker 3.0) Administrations fault...'cuz I found proof that it's not his fault.

White House Chief of Staff: Surge in Illegal Immigration Not Biden’s Fault

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said Sunday that President Joe Biden is not responsible for a surge in unaccompanied children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

“People who are sending their children here unaccompanied, children as young as 6, 7 years old, coming here with no adult who are sent on a dangerous journey—I don’t think that is because of a speech Joe Biden gave,” Klain told “Face the Nation” in an interview. “I think it is because of horrible conditions in El Salvador and Guatemala and Honduras.”

Republicans, however, have blamed Biden for the surge in recent months, saying his rhetoric and his executive orders to rescind Trump-era immigration policies are the reason behind the recent surge of people crossing illegally.

“We’re working hard to get those children reunited with family members here in the U.S.,” he said. “The number of children we have stuck in our border patrol stations are down 84 percent in the past month. We’re making progress on resolving this problem.”

Nearly 5,000 children are in Border Patrol custody and more than 13,000 children are currently in custody with Health and Human Services.

During the month of March, Border Patrol apprehended 172,000 illegal aliens, according to statistics released on April 8 by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). An additional 1,000 per day are evading capture. In February, border agents apprehended 101,000 people.

Since he took office, Biden ended the construction of the border wall, ended the Migrant Protection Protocols, and limited Immigration and Customs Enforcement enforcement priorities. The Department of Defense last week canceled wall projects that were paid with funds that were initially allocated for the military.

“The Department of Defense is proceeding with canceling all border barrier construction projects paid for with funds originally intended for other military missions and functions such as schools for military children, overseas military construction projects in partner nations, and the National Guard and Reserve equipment account,” said Jamal Brown, a spokesperson for the Pentagon, in a statement on April 30.

The Department of Homeland Security announced on the same day that it would take steps to address “physical dangers resulting from the previous administration’s approach to border wall construction.”

During a recent interview, Biden claimed that his administration has “now gotten control” of the surge of illegal immigrants at the Southern Border.

“It is getting urgent action now,” Biden told NBC News last week. “For example, a month ago, we had thousands of young kids, in custody in places they shouldn’t be and controlled by the Border Patrol. We have now cut that down dramatically.”

Moving the kids from place to place does not mean they are not still here.
They are just filling up any place they can stack them.
Who do they think is at fault for the fuckup at the border?
