Pelosi's Husband Raises Eyebrows with $11 Million Stock Purchase Shortly Before Big Tech Reform Bill Moved Forward in Congress

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, bought up to approximately $11 million in big tech stocks in May and June, just before the House moved forward with an anti-tech package of bills.

He purchased $4.8 million worth of Google-parent Alphabet shares, up to $1 million worth of Amazon call options, and as much as $250,000 worth of Apple call options, according to a financial disclosure form filed last week.

Paul Pelosi also bought up to $5 million worth of call options from Nvidia, a technology company that designs Graphics processing units (GPUs).

Paul Pelosi’s multimillion-dollar move was completed just weeks before the House Judiciary Committee passed six bipartisan antitrust bills — endorsed by Nancy Pelosi — aimed at big tech companies such as Apple, Amazon, Google and Facebook, the Washington Examiner reported.

House Republicans lay out their antitrust agenda for tech giants

    The Republican agenda
The agenda is broken into three parts: speed, accountability and transparency.

The first, speed, is the most likely of the three to gain bipartisan support. For example, one item in this category seems to follow the same line of thought as an existing antitrust bill passed by the committee last month. The bill would give state attorneys general more say over where their antitrust cases can be heard. The Republican agenda released Wednesday calls for empowering state AGs, specifically by giving them the ability to fast-track cases.

The agenda more broadly calls for implementing ways to speed up antitrust cases against the Big Tech companies by expediting their consideration by trial courts and allowing for a direct appeal to the Supreme Court. Those proposals could potentially see some bipartisan backing as well, given Democrats’ past complaints that the judicial system lags far behind the ever-changing tech sector.

But the proposals laid out under accountability and transparency may be a tougher sell to Democrats. Under those categories, Republicans included reforming tech’s legal liability shield, Section 230, which is under the jurisdiction of a different committee. Although there is bipartisan desire for reforming that law, Democrats and Republicans have remained deeply divided over how to do so since they view the issues with the law quite differently.

Republicans suggest giving individuals the ability to “directly challenge Big Tech in court for its censorship and silencing of conservatives,” according to the agenda. They also propose requiring Big Tech companies engaged in content moderation to publicly disclose their decisions to remove posts online.

They also suggest consolidating federal antitrust authority within the Department of Justice, instead of the current setup that splits authority between the DOJ and Federal Trade Commission. Democrats have opposed a similar measure in the Senate, saying the FTC’s role as an independent agency is important and more enforcers are better than fewer.
    ----------------------------------------------------------

Nothing like keeping more government bureaucracy involved, rather than a quick and expedient process than the left so does not enjoy.

Yet, I still haven't seen where Congress wants to break up the Big Tech Monopolies.

House Dems unveil bills to rein in Silicon Valley giants — opening rift among Republicans

House Judiciary leaders unveiled their long-promised antitrust package Friday, introducing five bipartisan bills aimed at reining in or even breaking up some of the nation's largest, wealthiest tech companies.

Collectively, the Democratic-led bills take aim at some of the tech empires' most lucrative operations, including Apple's App Store, Amazon's marketplace, Google's YouTube and Android, and Facebook-owned WhatsApp and Instagram. And perhaps most ominously for Silicon Valley, some Republican tech critics immediately announced their support.

But Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, a Trump ally and the top GOP member on House Judiciary, and his staff urged Republicans to oppose the package, according to a person familiar with the deliberations.

"Democrats: Don’t really want to break up #BigTech — Refuse to address tech’s censorship of conservatives. — Want to give President Biden more power to 'fix' the problem," Jordan tweeted after the legislation was announced. A Jordan spokesperson later tied the issue to Democrats' treatment of Trump, telling POLITICO: "When impeachment manager David Cicilline and other progressives drop a bill, we think it’s wise as conservatives to take time and fully read it and understand it before putting our names next to theirs."

Four of the bills would prohibit specific behaviors and impose new obligations on the biggest online platforms like Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google and potentially Microsoft. The fifth would boost funding for the United States' two antitrust agencies, giving them additional money to help enforce the new laws.

Several conservative advocacy groups immediately denounced the legislation, with the libertarian think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute calling it "Washington meddling at its worst."

But more populist conservative groups offered support for the bills, such as the right-leaning American Principles Project.

The bills are targeted to apply only to the major tech platforms. To face repercussions under the legislation, a business' parent company would need to have at least $600 billion in annual sales or market capitalization, a figure that narrows the pool down nine companies globally — the five U.S. tech giants, electric carmaker Tesla, Chinese tech behemoths Tencent and Alibaba, and Taiwanese semiconductor company TSMC. The $600 billion amount is tied to inflation.

The left wants to maintain Mega Corps...they're the biggest donors and largest lobbyist firms.

While the left also wants to downsize like a mother fucker the small business enterprises, they need them some more dependents.

The left has become a total embarrassment to the entire concept of the U.S. as intended.

US steps up fight against COVID-19 misinformation

White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters Thursday that the Biden administration has increased its tracking of misinformation and is “flagging problematic” social media posts to Facebook.

“There’s about 12 people who are producing 65 percent of anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms,” Psaki said. “All of them remain active on Facebook, despite some even being banned on other platforms, including ones that Facebook owns.”

      Misinformation eh?

Remember the two physicians who, early on, said covid wasn't so ominous that shutting down the economy was indicated?

Censored and banned from facebook. Shooter went looking for the clip on youtube, and its gone.

Those two were more accurate with their information than Fauci.

How come he still has a voice??

Stephen Miller to launch a new legal group to give Biden fits
America First Legal will focus on a few things: executive branch issues and giving Joe Biden headaches.

Former Trump White House policy adviser Stephen Miller, known for his hard-line immigration policies and conservative culture war postures, is launching a new legal group. And he’s looking to use it to make Joe Biden’s life miserable.

The legal group is seeking information on the extent of the Biden administration s coordination with Big Tech after White House officials this week said they were in regular communication with the companies.

The group, which will be known as America First Legal, will help organize Republican attorneys general against perceived executive branch abuses in addition to filing lawsuits of its own, according to six people familiar with the planning.

“During the Trump administration, we had the ACLU and three or four other advocacy groups consistently working with Democrats to coordinate against our policies. Miller is taking a page out of their book,” said a senior Trump administration official briefed on Miller’s plans.

Miller’s organization will join a fairly crowded ecosystem of conservative-leaning legal entities, including Judicial Watch, Alliance Defending Freedom and the Immigration Reform Law Institute. But unlike those entities, which tend to operate around specific issues, such as religious liberty, free speech or immigration, America First Legal will be broadly focused on administrative law and executive overreach. That issue focus is derived, in large part, from the experiences that Miller and fellow Trump veterans confronted during the last administration.

Miller has been putting America First Legal together with guidance from former Sen. Jim DeMint’s Conservative Partnership Institute and Clinton-impeachment lawyer Ken Starr, who also served on Trump’s first impeachment defense team. Gene Hamilton, a former Justice Department lawyer, has also been involved and is expected to oversee the group’s legal work since Miller himself is not a trained attorney, while former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, currently a senior partner at CPI, will serve on its board.

Facebook refutes Biden claim that it is ‘killing people’ with vaccine misinformation

Facebook with respect to Covid misinformation. In response to the question, Biden responded: “They’re killing people.”

“I mean they really, look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated, and that’s — they’re killing people,” the president said, echoing earlier comments from White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

Psaki, at a news briefing last week, said the Biden administration was flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread misinformation, including false information that the Covid-19 vaccine causes infertility.

The press secretary urged Facebook and other social media companies to address misinformation, including publicly sharing data regarding the impact of misinformation on their services, promoting quality information sources in their feed algorithm, and taking faster action against harmful posts.
    ***********************************************************************************************************************************************

It was determined that Russia and Facebook allowed and assisted in the election of Trump during the '16 election season...nothing could be further from the truth, as the truth has concluded that the claims were total bullshit.

Now it's being claimed that ''misinformation'' on facebook is deterring folks from being vaccinated..and the Crime Boss Biden and the Ho (half cracker 3.0) Administration is telling facebook...to get back in line with Crime Boss Biden and the Ho (half cracker 3.0) Administrations agenda...

So as it was asked earlier...who determines what ''misinformation'' is...it's anything that goes against the grain of the totalitarian/dictatorial/communist/socialist efforts of the hack fuck leftists....it cant be explained any clearer than that.

Appeals Court Agrees to Review Decision on Big Tech’s Section 230 Immunity

A little-watched civil rights case that threatens Silicon Valley’s Section 230 immunity took a huge step forward Friday as an appeals court that rarely does so agreed to review a lower court’s decision.

The U.S. Appeals Court for the Second Circuit in New York agreed to review a lower court’s ruling that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) protects Big Tech companies like Vimeo from civil rights liability in censorship cases.

Big Tech censorship became a hot button issue during the 2020 presidential campaign when President Donald Trump was selectively censored by Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.

The controversy became especially heated late in the campaign when a New York Post series of news articles about the allegedly corrupt business dealings of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, was banned by the Big Tech giants.

Trump has filed a class-action lawsuit in federal court against the firms that censored him. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has also been the most vocal of multiple congressional conservative Republican critics of Section 230 immunity.

The case of Domen v. Vimeo came about after Vimeo, an Internet video-hosting company, terminated Church United’s video streaming activities after it featured videos of five men and women who left the gay lifestyle to pursue their Christian faith. Vimeo claimed its terms of service bar streaming videos that promote sexual orientation change therapy. Church United is led by Pastor Jim Domen.

A federal district court had previously held that Section 230 exempted firms like Vimeo and a three-judge panel of the Second Circuit upheld the lower court’s ruling.

As a result of Friday’s decision, however, the panel’s ruling will be reheard before the entire Second Circuit. The Second Circuit covers six federal district courts in three states, including New York, Connecticut and Vermont.

There currently are 10 active judges on the Second Circuit and 13 semi-retired senior judges.

“This ruling puts Section 230 immunity in the crosshairs of judicial review. We suspect that the en banc court recognizes that Big Tech is not exempt from state and federal civil rights laws,” said attorney Robert Tyler, general counsel for the California-based Advocates for Faith & Freedom. His law firm, Tyler & Bursch, represents Pastor Jim Domen and the California-based Church United non-profit.

“Section 230 was not intended to give Big Tech the right to exclude persons from their platform just because the customer is black, Muslim, white, Christian, homosexual or formerly homosexual. That is plain invidious discrimination,” said Tyler.

PayPal and ADL Partner to Disrupt ‘Financial Pipelines’ Used For Extremism and Hate, Protect Marginalized Groups

PayPal and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) announced on Monday a new partnership aimed at identifying extremism, racism, and hate, and eventually to undertake the task of disrupting transactions and “financial pipelines” used to fund them.

The partnership will be led by the ADL’s Center on Extremism, known for its interactive H.E.A.T Map (Hate, Extremism, Anti-Semitism, Terrorism), and focus on “uncovering and disrupting the financial pipelines that support extremist and hate movements.”

The effort begins with research into the ways identified groups or movements use financial platforms, and the data collected will be shared with companies in the financial and tech sectors as well as with “policymakers and law enforcement.” The announcement says they will share “trends in extremism and hate” with civili rights organizations and marginalized communities.

“We have a unique opportunity to further understand how hate spreads and develop key insights that will inform the efforts of the financial industry, law enforcement, and our communities in mitigating extremist threats,” said ADL head Jonathan Greenblatt.

    From the statement:

Core to the PayPal and ADL initiative is the establishment and expansion of a coalition with other civil rights partner organizations, such as the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), to protect marginalized communities against extremism. PayPal and ADL will work closely with these organizations to share trends in extremism and hate with marginalized and vulnerable communities with the goal of helping to empower and safeguard those communities which are frequently targets of hate groups and extremist acts.

Greenblatt and the ADL shared the announcement on Twitter.

In addition to tracking the funding of extremist groups and their actions, the announcement says the project will look into “actors and networks spreading and profiting from all forms of hate and bigotry against any community.” This statement seems to cover a wide range of possible infractions.

PayPal has previously cut off accounts and funding related to extremism or actions or speech deemed hateful, as in the case of the far right social media website Gab and groups that raised money for trips to D.C. on January 6, including the Christian crowdfunding website GiveSendGo.

The question is however, why are other ''extremists and hate groups' being neglected from being and recognized then blocked?, like Antifa...BLM and the like.

Seems only organizations like LGBTrump - Gays For Trump--PatriotPilgrimageDC--along with over a dozen other organizations against the cancel culture movement

Well, probably because its Soros' money and half cracker's influence at work here.

We have this new gem to watch out for...Imran Ahmed is the founding CEO of the Center for Countering Digital Hate, the Center for Countering Digital Hate is a not-for-profit non governmental organization (NGO) that is funded by philanthropic trusts and members of the public.

An organization that is in the U.S. and the UK.
