Trump explains his new social media company as a thing that gets his message out to a lot of people

Former one term twice impeached President Trump. (AFP)

Former President Donald Trump told Fox that his new social media site will likely launch officially in the first quarter of 2022.

In an interview, Trump whined that the major problem for him is connecting with the world. Fox asked Trump what the purpose of his company was, and he explained it was about "getting our voice out."

Trump only has an email account and cell phone numbers for over 20 million people. He is also plagued by having to make his spokesperson push out his tweets to her followers and not his, since he's been blocked from Twitter. Instead, he must push his statements out to thousands of reporters and influencers who can promote it for him.

It's one of many reasons he appears frustrated with promoting himself.

"It is going to be, very simply, a way of getting our voice out to a lot of people," Trump told the network. "And when we get our voice out, there are a lot of people that want to hear this voice, because they don’t hear it."

He then trashed the media, saying that there isn't a "free press." There is, however, a pay-press. Trump could always take out ads or pay for commercials. With this social media company, however, someone else is funding the operation.

"I truly believe we have far more than 50 percent of the public of the people of this country—much more than 50 percent," Trump explained. "This is a way of getting a strong word out from a lot of different people who should be heard."

Half of the public would be 164,750,000, almost 90 million more people than voted for him in 2020.

In the wake of Trump's expulsion from social media, several websites have popped up to be similar to sites like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. While many have flocked to the sites, they certainly aren't the numbers comparable to the main sites.

Parler, for example, boasts 13 million users, while Facebook has 2.89 billion users and Twitter has 186 million. Trump adviser Jason Miller started the website GETTR, which said that it has reached almost 3 million users before Thanksgiving 20201.

RightForge, which hosts Trump's social media site that is still developing, has prepared for 75 million users, Axios reported. That is more than Trump was able to capture in the 2020 election.

Addictive ‘Brain Hijacking’ Methods of Social Media Platforms Harmful to Users, Especially Children: Insider

Addictive “brain hijacking” methods used by social media giants to keep users on their platforms have harmful effects, particularly on children, according to industry insider Rex Lee, who says the companies may be violating child protection laws and consumer protection laws by employing such techniques.

Lee, who has more than 35 years of experience in the tech and telecommunications industry, recently testified before Congress, speaking to members about some of the deceptive practices used by social media networks — specifically, “brain Hijacking.”

“The first time I ever heard of brain hijacking, I thought it was something out of a science fiction movie,” he recently told EpochTV’s Crossroads program.

He said social media apps, including those developed by Google, Meta and ByteDance, have been deliberately developed to be addictive.

He explained that part of what makes these platforms addictive is related to brain hijacking techniques, which include suggestive and manipulative advertising.

Lee, who works in the tech industry for an enterprise app and platform developer, said he was shocked after entering a 2017 Axios interview by Sean Parker, who previously served as Facebook’s chairman.

In interviews, Parker stated that Facebook was deliberately developed using addictive techniques involving something he described as a “social validation feedback loop.”

Lies and misinformation are the true enemies of the people and always has been. Which is why the Constitution has never prot4cted them.

'Twitter is an enemy': Marjorie Taylor Greene lashes out after permanent ban

    Tom Boggioni
    January 02, 2022

Responding to one of her Twitter accounts being permanently banned for sharing misinformation about Covid-19, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) issued a furious statement claiming the social media platform "is an enemy."

Later adding that the Democrats are "Communists" -- a common refrain for the GOP lawmaker as of late -- Taylor Greene professed innocence about her Covid comments before launching her attack on Twitter.

With a Twitter spokesperson claiming, "We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy,” Taylor Greene complained "Social media platforms can't stop the truth from being spread far and wide. Big Tech can't stop the truth. Communist Democrats can't stop the truth. I stand with the truth and the people. We will overcome!"

One way we can tell the treasonous conservative/Republican who have never even read the Constitution and are completely ignorant of it is because they claim "shouting fire in a crowded theater" is free speech when actually its already been ruled unconstitutional and not protect4ed by the first amendment.

And just because I am highly amused by it does not change that fact.

Marjorie Taylor Greene gets Facebook suspension for 'misinformation' one day after permanent Twitter ban

    Real America's Voice/screen grab

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) Facebook account was suspended on Monday after the social media platform accused her of spreading "misinformation" about Covid-19.

Greene revealed she had been suspended by Facebook just one day after her personal account was banned on Twitter. According to Twitter, Greene had broken the company's rules on Covid-19 misinformation at least five times.

In a post on the Telegram social media site, Greene complained about the Facebook suspension.

"Facebook has joined Twitter in censoring me," she wrote. "This is beyond censorship of speech."

"I’m an elected Member of Congress representing over 700,000 US tax paying citizens and I represent their voices, values, defend their freedoms, and protect the Constitution," the lawmaker ranted. "Who appointed Twitter and Facebook to be the authorities of information and misinformation?"

Greene added: "When Big Tech decides what political speech of elected Members is accepted and what’s not then they are working against our government and against the interest of our people."

According to Greene, she is being punished by both platforms because she spread unverified information from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

German Watchdog Puts Google Under Closer Antitrust Scrutiny
Germany’s antitrust watchdog has paved the way for extra scrutiny of Google by designating it a company of “paramount significance.”.

The Bundeskartellamt said its decision comes after rules were introduced last year that allow it “to intervene earlier and more effectively” to ban companies from using anti-competitive practices. The regulator's decision, which lasts five years, gives it extended powers to supervise Google for “abuse control."

The watchdog said Google has “significant influence” over other companies’ access to its users and advertising customers through search, YouTube, Android and its online Play Store “and can set rules and conditions for other businesses across markets.”

It’s the latest example of how big tech companies are facing pressure over concerns their dominance stifles competition and hurts consumers. Europe has led the global move to crack down on tech giants, but early efforts drew criticism that investigations took too long, with some stretching on for years — a problem the German rules aim to address.

“This is a very important step, since based on this decision, the Bundeskartellamt can now take action against specific anti-competitive practices by Google,” said the watchdog's president, Andreas Mundt.

We see this constantly around here. Many times if you actually research what some treasonous conservative/Republicans post it will go right back to what someone posted on Facebook. And quite often is just plain Russian false propaganda.

Twitter Allows Iranian Threats To Assassinate Former President Trump

Lawmakers accuse social media platform of double standard

Twitter is allowing official Iranian government accounts to issue death threats against former president Donald Trump and other Trump administration officials.

Twitter's refusal to remove these ongoing threats is renewing congressional scrutiny on the social media platform. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the regime's paramilitary fighting force that engages in terrorism and assassination plots, tweeted during the weekend that it will take revenge for the death of terror mastermind Qassem Soleimani, who two years ago was killed in Iraq in a drone strike ordered by Trump.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers vengeance against those responsible for the Baghdad crime to be the right of all believers; whether they are drops in the ocean or bits of sand in the desert they'll seek vengeance next to the criminals' homes," the corps's official account tweeted in Farsi, alongside a picture of Trump golfing. The post was independently translated for the Washington Free Beacon.

The tweet is the latest Iranian threat, online and elsewhere, to assassinate Trump and other senior U.S. officials—including former secretary of state Mike Pompeo—for their role in Soleimani's killing. Republican lawmakers in comments to the Free Beacon said that Twitter continues to unevenly uphold its community guidelines. Violence and threats are not tolerated on the platform, and prominent conservative voices, including Trump, have been banned from the platform for alleged infractions. Top Iranian officials, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and scores of other terrorist groups, however, use Twitter to promote violence against the United States, Israel, Jews, and other U.S. allies.

"So, the leftist oligarchs at Twitter will allow the [guard corps] to tweet death threats at President Trump but will deplatform him for calling for a peaceful protest?" Rep. Greg Steube (R., Fla.), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said to the Free Beacon. "Last I checked, making death threats is inciting violence."

Rep. Pat Fallon (R., Texas), a House Armed Services Committee member, also accused Twitter of failing to impartially uphold its guidelines.

"In Twitter's safety rules and polices, they say, ‘You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people.' If this is the case, why is the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, Iran, allowed to threaten to kill President Donald Trump?" Fallon asked. "Not only is Twitter exclusively censoring conservatives, but now they are letting Iran's armed forces issue death threats to a former sitting president. Twitter needs to consider following their own policies and immediately remove this tweet."

Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), also an Armed Services Committee member, expressed similar concerns about Twitter, saying the social media network "seems to be okay" with threats that target Trump.

Twitter did not respond to a request for comment on why the tweet remains active and whether that tweet violates the company's guidelines.

Twitter has repeatedly found itself in the hot seat in Congress for what Republicans and conservatives allege is a double standard when it comes to policing content. Critics say that Twitter is biased against conservatives and routinely targets prominent right-leaning accounts while allowing Democrats and left-leaning accounts to engage in rhetoric that violates the platform's rules.

Twitter founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey said in a 2018 interview that the company is largely dominated by liberal voices. Conservatives, he said, "don't feel safe to express their opinions."

Dorsey testified before Congress in 2020 following Twitter's decision to ban a New York Post article that detailed the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop. While the company apologized for the move, calling it wrongheaded in retrospect, the incident provided fodder for conservative critics of the platform, who maintain Twitter and other social media networks attempted to sway the 2020 election in favor of President Joe Biden.

House Republicans in 2021 introduced legislation to ban social media networks from providing accounts to designated terrorists and terror groups. The bill was part of a larger effort to crack down on violent online rhetoric that ultimately did not pass Congress.

MAGA App Gettr Sick of Their Racist Users, Bans Right-Wing Pundit Over N-Word

The free speech MAGA-loving social media site Gettr, founded by former Trump advisor Jason Miller, banned former Blaze TV host Jon Miller over using the N-word on their platform. “Jon Miller was suspended from Gettr because he used the N-word in his profile. This is a clear violation of our terms of service,” a Gettr spokesperson told The Daily Beast on Tuesday evening. “Gettr defends free speech, but there is no room for racial slurs on our platform.” However, Miller maintains he was booted “for no reason.” “Guess I was too critical of them for suspending others?" he riffed on Twitter. “What does it say when the 1st platform to ban me is the one that sells itself as the free speech alternative?” The move to ban Miller comes as Gettr continues to fight white nationalists on their platform.

DirecTV to drop rabidly pro-Trump One America News

    Common Dreams
    January 15, 2022

    OAN/screen grab

Facing a wave of grassroots pressure, one of the largest television providers in the U.S. reportedly plans to drop the far-right, rabidly pro-Trump One America News Network, an outlet that has come under fire for disseminating falsehoods about the 2020 election results, the coronavirus pandemic, and other major issues.

Bloomberg reported late Friday that DirecTV has informed OANN's owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it intends to "stop carrying the company's two channels when their contract expires" in early April.

The move comes after civil rights organizations and other advocacy groups called on DirecTV and AT&T—which owns a 70% stake in the satellite-TV provider—to sever ties with OANN for "spreading anti-democratic disinformation, promoting Covid-19 conspiracy theories, and fueling racism."

According to a recent Reuters investigation, AT&T—the world's largest telecom company—"has been a crucial source of funds flowing into OAN, providing tens of millions of dollars in revenue."

"The dangerous conspiracies and lies regularly aired on OANN have worsened a public-health crisis and given oxygen to baseless claims about the irrefutable outcome of our last presidential election,"
Nora Benavidez, senior counsel and director of digital justice and civil rights at Free Press, said in a statement Friday.

"OANN can say whatever it wants on its own soapbox, but it does not have an automatic right to a national audience through DirecTV," Benavidez added. "We welcome the news that DirecTV has made the decision to stop carrying OANN, especially knowing millions of viewers will no longer be subsidizing this hateful content with their monthly pay-TV bills."

Angelo Carusone, president of Media Matters, also applauded DirecTV's move, calling OANN "a cauldron of misinformation and extremism."

"Without DirecTV, OAN would certainly not exist in its current form and possibly not at all," said Carusone. "Now that OAN's anchor distributor has dropped them, Verizon FiOS (OAN's second major distributor) should follow suit. And certainly no other cable provider should pick them up."
