Lara Trump thinks Microsoft Word office assistant 'Clippy' is a real person spying on her documents

    Sarah K. Burris
    January 16, 2022

Fox host Lara Trump either has a new conspiracy theory, or she is very confused.

Hosting the 5 p.m. EST hour, Trump was ranting about Microsoft Word's Clippy and the suggested changes to words like "postman" into "letter carrier" and "mankind" into "humankind." It's part of the right's latest attack on "wokism," which they define as anything done in polite society that makes them uncomfortable.

"Someone is reading this?! And assessing what I'm writing?" Trump said, assuming that a person was actually watching and reading what she was typing in Word instead of an AI programed into what they call "office assistant." It was once named Clippy, and it was never a real person.

According to Trump, the "office assistant" is a lot like her fancy new car that doesn't require a key, just a push-button to start it. She said that the car wouldn't start if she didn't jingle the keys around. That's false. Push-button start cars use safety technology that requires your foot on the break, the car in park, and the key fob in the car with you. It's essentially a small low-frequency transmitter. So if the car won't start, it's likely that you need to replace the batteries.

    See Lara Trump's rant below:

Facing a wave of grassroots pressure, one of the largest television providers in the U.S. reportedly plans to drop the far-right, rabidly pro-Trump One America News Network, an outlet that has come under fire for disseminating falsehoods about the 2020 election results, the coronavirus pandemic, and other major issues.

As usual, when Progressives find an individual or organization they deem threatening to their narrative, they continue their lying, but now to get that entity censored. They are incapable of winning an open exchange of ideas.

Thank you for protecting me from hearing every side of an argument and to not have to use critical thinking to evaluate the subject for myself.

Trump Media offered phone calls from ex-president in exchange for $100M investments -- but found few takers: report

Donald Trump's social media company tried to sell personal phone calls with the former president for $100 million, but found few takers.

Bankers for the fledgling Trump Media & Technology Group approached dozens of investors to pitch a $1 billion deal offering lucrative financial terms after the company had already raised about $300 million through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company, and five people briefed on the pitches say potential investors were promised a call from Trump, reported the New York Times.

"Despite the opportunity to invest in a deal whose terms were structured to make a profit for investors," the newspaper reported, "many of Wall Street’s big names passed."

More than a dozen prominent hedge funds and investment firms were afraid to go into business with the twice-impeached one-term president out of fear of alienating their own investors, according to people briefed on the situation.

Others were concerned about Trump's reputation for bankruptcies, lawsuits and disputes with lenders and partners, and some just didn't see enough details about the company -- which currently has no disclosed revenue or products.

Trump Media raised $293 million in October through an agreement to merge with Digital World, and the company announced it had secured another $1 billion through a "private investment in public equity," or PIPE, deal with three dozen investors, although they must turn over that money if its merger with Digital World closes.

WATCH: Former Trump advisor struggles to explain why his 'free speech' platform booted a white nationalist

    Screengrab.

Longtime Donald Trump advisor Jason Miller is struggling to explain why his new social media platform, Gettr, banned prominent white nationalist Nicholas Fuentes.

Gettr bills itself as a "brand new social media platform founded on the principles of free speech, independent thought and rejecting political censorship and 'cancel culture.'"

But Fuentes, who was subpoenaed by the House Select Committee Investigating the Jan. 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol, was banned.

“What is the point of a free-speech alternative to Twitter...that doesn’t even honor free speech?” Fuentes asked.

Podcaster Tim Pool this week asked Miller about how his company is enforcing its free speech standards.

"Bro, I don't think you've got an argument here, man," Pool said.

"It sounds like complete bullsh*t," he explained. "So it's really difficult for me to like, to understand exactly what he did wrong. The issue for me is that when I asked you, you don't seem to know either."

Antifa closes college event as administrators blame Republican students

Republican students at an Ivy League college in New Hampshire say school officials dumped them and made false and embarrassing accusations against them to avoid bad publicity, canceling the event amid strong protest from the far-left extremist group Antifa.

The live broadcast planned at Dartmouth College was titled “Extremism in America” and was to feature Andy Ngo, a conservative figure who had been viciously attacked by Antifa in the past.

Antifa and its sympathizers threatened the event several times, including offering money to anyone who attacked Ngo. A local group called the Dartmouth Anarchists also posted violent insinuations about the event on social media, with one member tweeting: “As long as we stand, Dartmouth will never be a safe place for [right-wingers] spread your misinformation. Wear black to show your solidarity and hide your identity!”

The event was hosted by Dartmouth College Republicans. Club president Griffin McKee told The Epoch Times that the local and state police were well prepared for any form of violence by the group, and fielded a SWAT team before the event began.

“Moore Hall was arguably the safest place in all of New Hampshire,” McKee said.

Just hours before Ngo was about to take the stage, the school administration ordered the live event to be made virtual only. The schools later issued a statement blaming the failure of college Republicans for the move.

“In light of information from the Hanover Police regarding security issues, similar concerns raised by the Republican college leadership, and concerns regarding the student organization’s ability to organize a major public event and communicate effectively (including the dissemination of a visitor policy and a ban on carrying bags). in the building), the College has requested that the Extremism in America panel be moved online,” the college said in a statement released after the event was moved online.

However, emails exchanged between Anna Hall, senior assistant dean for student life at Dartmouth, and college Republicans show that the student group sent out emails to registered members days before emphasizing that backpacks would not be allowed on event and that a student ID will be strictly prohibited. required. The group also posted notices on the college’s online newsletter and on campus, the emails show.

Again just funny as fuck. Trump and his treasonous conservative/Republicans are as ignorant of free speech as they are of the Constitution and rule of law.

Trump’s Big Tech Alternative Free Speech Site Will Have AI Censors

Former President Donald Trump’s yet-to-be-launched social media platform Truth Social is casting itself as an alternative to “Big Tech,” but the platform has enlisted a “Big Tech” firm to aid in the site’s moderation utilizing AI censors. Initially billed as a venture to “stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” the platform, Truth Social, will be moderated by precisely what it publicly rails against: “Big Tech.” Fox Business reported Monday that Trump’s platform will be moderated by Hive, which the network describes as “a San Francisco-based Series D start-up that provides automated solutions through cloud-based artificial intelligence for understanding images, videos, and text content.” Hive CEO Kevin Guo told Fox Business the company can detect content including “nudity, drugs, violence, hate speech, spam, and bullying.” Truth Social CEO and former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) added: “We want to be very family-friendly, we want this to be a very safe place.” Far-right social media alternative Gab CEO Andrew Torba on Monday attacked Trump’s venture and called the site “not a free speech platform.” Truth Social didn’t return The Daily Beast’s request for comment on Monday evening.

This is just an overriding theme in every legal front Trump is facing from New York and Georgia to the Supreme Court. He can't get competent lawyers and the ones he can are just laughable. And its not just that Trump is famous for stiffing his lawyers. Its the whole stench of treason thing good lawyers don't want on them.

Trump's lawyers busted for trying to pull a fast one in court filing against Twitter

Donald Trump's lawyers got caught trying to pull a fast one in a court filing as part of his lawsuit against Twitter.

The twice-impeached one-term president's lawyers are trying to persuade the court that Twitter conspired with the government to limit conservative voices on social media, but the tech companies lawyers spotted a misleading substitution in a quote of a congressional memo by Trump's legal team.

"Similarly unavailing is Plaintiff's attempt to establish conspiracy based on a memo -- apparently written by Congressional staffers -- that Plaintiffs falsely portray as having stated that "platforms often ramp up their efforts against [conservative] content in response to social and political pressure,'" the company's lawyers wrote. "In fact, the memo refers not to 'conservative' content, but to 'misinformation and extreme content.'"

Dan Bongino tried to sneak around YouTube suspension -- and now he's been permanently banned

Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino.

Trump-loving talk radio host Dan Bongino thought he'd found a way around his temporary suspension -- but now he's wound up getting totally banned after getting caught.

The Daily Beast reports that Bongino had previously been suspended by YouTube for falsely claiming masks do nothing to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Despite that, he attempted to upload a new video onto the platform, which led YouTube to shut him down completely.

“We terminated Dan Bongino’s channels for circumventing our Terms of Service by posting a video while there was an active strike and suspension associated with the account,” a YouTube spokesperson tells The Daily Beast. “When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension. If a channel is terminated, the uploader is unable to use, own or create any other YouTube channels.”

Last year, Bongino spent time feuding with employer Cumulus Media over its vaccination mandate for employees, and even threatened to quit his show there.

So far he has not followed through on that threat, however, and last month he told the Washington Post he was in an "ongoing fight" with the company.

That is my question. What's the big deal? Why do treasonous conservative/Republicans yowl like mashed cats when a private company enforces their policies? Its a free country and they can just go to one of the treasonous conservative/Republican sites that exist for telling lies.

But oh no. They don't like that because the treasonous conservative/Republican sites are not where action is.

'Tyranny grows': MAGA fans meltdown after YouTube pulls plug on one of Trump's biggest boosters

Fans of Donald Trump reacted with dismay on Wednesday after YouTube permanently banned conservative gadfly Dan Bongino for his attempt to circumvent their terms of service after receiving a temporary ban for spreading Covid misinformation.

In a statement to the Daily Beast a spokesperson for the video platform explained, “We terminated Dan Bongino’s channels for circumventing our Terms of Service by posting a video while there was an active strike and suspension associated with the account. When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension. If a channel is terminated, the uploader is unable to use, own or create any other YouTube channels.”

With Bongino, a hardcore supporter of Trump and regular contributor on Fox News attempting to direct his supporters to YouTube rival Rumble, his fans took to Twitter to rage at the permanent ban.

"YouTube's loss. At least now we all know it's the Communist echo chamber they always wanted to be but never could admit to being," conservative Jeremy Frankel tweeted.

He was not alone in his complaining as you can see below:

What you're saying is true, no action on those other sites...however, as these private sector companies enjoy pushing a selected message and transcript that also pushes for a definitive political message, there will be a day coming soon, that these infamously notorious private sector business's that practices free speech as long as it fits their political narrative, will also be where there is no action....that day is coming, and I will predict it will be before 2024.

YouTube yanks MAGA Senate candidate's ad claiming Democrats 'rigged' 2020 election

YouTube has removed a GOP Senate candidate's ad that claimed Democrats "rigged" the 2020 election.

“I’m running for Senate to stop the insanity, stop the wokeness, and stop the Democrats from stealing another election,” Rep. Billy Long (R-KS) said in the ad, in which he also called President Joe Biden and Democrats "far-left crazies."

Long's ad, which debuted earlier this month, had been removed by YouTube on Thursday, according to the Kansas City Star.

Neither a YouTube spokesperson nor Long's campaign responded to requests for comment.

READ MORE: REVEALED: Trump-anointed Arizona candidate has questionable ties to the Bundys, the Oath Keepers and the controversial 'Constitutional Sheriffs'

Long is part of a crowded field of Republicans seeking the party's nomination in the race to replace GOP Sen. Roy Blunt, who is not seeking re-election. Other GOP candidates in the race include Kansas Attorney General Eric Schmitt, former Gov. Eric Greitens and Missouri Rep. Vicki Hartzler.

"While all the candidates have talked about their support of Trump and his policies, Long has gone out of his way to tout his ties with the former president, and he hired former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway as a political adviser," the newspaper reported. "Long has also been vocal about his opposition to Biden. He voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania. In an email to constituents last week, Long called Biden’s 2021 inauguration 'a day that will live in infamy,' parroting former President Franklin Roosevelt’s speech after the bombing of Pearl Harbor."

Trump hasn't endorsed in the race, but in a story about Long's ad last week, the Washington Post noted that Greitens is a Trump ally, and that several people close to the former president — including pollster Tony Fabrizio and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.'s fiancee — are working for his campaign.

"Spokespeople for Long did not immediately respond to a request for comment on what evidence Long has that the election was 'rigged,'" the Post reported. "In a statement, the campaign said, 'the election of 2020 was the greatest theft of an election in America history. As Senator, Long promises to block the Democrats’ extremist efforts to change voting laws to their benefit and promises to prevent another stolen election.' Long’s ad ignores the fact that he was on the same ballot as Trump and won reelection in 2020 along with other congressional Republicans, a point Biden underscored in his speech on Jan. 6 at the Capitol."

ALERT: Journalists Are Actively Spreading Misinformation
Banning a book and removing it from the curriculum are 'really different things'

Mainstream journalists and other left-wing activists are constantly complaining about "misinformation," sometimes referred to as fake news. They want to teach our children how to complain about it. Yet they often don't think twice about actively spreading misinformation when it suits their ideological (and financial) agenda.

For nearly 24 hours now, journalists and activists have been expressing outrage over a Tennessee county school board's decision to stop teaching Maus, a Holocaust-themed graphic novel, as part of the eighth grade language arts curriculum. Board members expressed concern about the book's profanity and depictions of nudity, but also suggested it could be "added back if there is no better alternative."

Nevertheless, almost every mainstream media outlet reporting the story has described the school board's action as a "ban," which sounds a lot scarier.

New York Times: "School Board in Tennessee Bans Teaching of Holocaust Novel ‘Maus'"

Washington Post: "Holocaust graphic novel ‘Maus' banned in Tennessee county schools over nudity and profanity"

Wall Street Journal: "Tennessee School Board Bans Holocaust Graphic Novel ‘Maus' Over ‘Vulgar' Words, Themes" (Note: The headline has now been revised. "Bans" has been changed to "pulls.")

The Guardian: "Tennessee school board bans Pulitzer prize-winning Holocaust novel, Maus"

USA Today: "School Board in Tennessee Bans Holocaust Novel ‘Maus'"

The Daily Beast: "School Board Bans Pulitzer-Winning Graphic Novel About the Holocaust"

BBC: "Tennessee school board bans teaching of Holocaust graphic novel Maus"

CNBC: "Tennessee school board bans Holocaust graphic novel ‘Maus' – author Art Spiegelman condemns the move as ‘Orwellian'"

Shockingly enough, CNN was one of the few mainstream outlets to accurately describe the school board's decision. The headline on the CNN website reads: "A Tennessee school board removed the graphic novel ‘Maus,' about the Holocaust, from curriculum due to language and nudity concerns." Of course, the network also invited the author on television to discuss his reaction to the book being "banned."

Sure, the accurate headline is long and awkward, and is less likely to inspire outrage and clicks. But that's not a good enough reason for mainstream journalists to spread misinformation. Derek Thompson, staff writer for the Atlantic, stated the obvious: Banning a book and removing a book from the school's curriculum "are really different things" that should not be equated for the sake of a shorter, flashier headline.

It's not as if most journalists don't know the difference. In almost every case, the inflammatory headlines are followed by a lede paragraph that accurately explains the school board's decision. One doesn't have to agree with that decision to be annoyed that mainstream media insists on spreading misinformation.
