My wife, and I were discussing sexuality after she found out the other day that one of my long time friends was bisexual, and that he had dated another long time guy friend at some point. Our conversation shifted to our own personal sexuality, and I wasn't able to label my sexuality as Bisexual, bicurious, or any word I have heard before. Granted I also haven't exactly researched the terms much, but I figured maybe someone here would know.

I've never been one that wanted to date males, or do "lovey dovey" relationship stuff such as cuddling. When one thinks about the daily life of relationships like shopping together, or doing household chores together I dont picture myself doing that stuff with a man. That being said, I've always been a man that will happily be open with people when I see a man that I feel is physically attractive. Often joining my female coworkers, friends, and family in "that dudes so dreamy" kind of conversations. Often pointing out a hot guy to my wife, complete with details on what features I think are best. I've slept with men before, and I'd happily do it again, but relationship stuff, and dating is something I shy away from, so I personally don't know how to label my sexuality.

Can any of you relate? Is there a specific label for my sexuality? Should I even worry about labels in this day, and age? What are your personal opinions, and preferences on the subject?

I'd say if you're bi sexual you're open to entertaining a serious relationship with both sexes. I only bi curious then the idea of " playing around" with the other sex is intriguing and finds your curiosity. Once practiced, it remains to be seen if it pretty much stays with playing ( I could never kiss with a guy for instance), or if a real attraction develops where dating would be the next step I guess.

Two quick points. First, as I've said at least a million times, don’t buy into this "labels are bad" and "don’t call it anything" nonsense. We should all pursue truth and seek to understand ourselves. I refuse to believe that all sex is exactly the same, because it isn't, especially between the two sexes.

That being said, I wouldn't over-complicate it, either. You've got two sexes, and you dig 'em both. Bi makes the most sense. I disagree that being gay, straight, or bi is dependent upon romantic aspirations. If a person is only attracted to the opposite sex, but not interested in dating or pursuing a relationship, you certainly wouldn't say that they were anything but heterosexual. I don't think that bisexuality is any different in that regard.

Ultimately, you know yourself better than any of us do. You will have to decide what terms are most accurate to you. Just remember that, as you mentioned in the original post, the whole point of finding the appropriate label is to communicate with others, so it's important that we use terms that can be understood. Otherwise, keep having fun. It doesn't hurt to practice a lot for research purposes.

Bisexual..both

I would say that I am bisexual but those I am close to, I would also say that I am straight but have a dick fetish.

I don't worry about labels. Sexuality is a three dimensional continuum between emotional and physical relationships. Either or both can change over time, short term or long term. We all have needs. Some needs are stronger than others and can be met in different ways. We are influenced by so many factors - past experiences, environmental (think pandemic), social, etc.
I prefer to seek pleasurable situations that provide positive memories and hopes for future ones.
