    For questionable people shooting incidents:
the three day paid vacation should not apply.

The officer involved takes unpaid leave until cleared of wrong doing by a third investigating party, separate and apart from an internal investigation.

Should he have blatantly disregarded the law or violated his sworn oath, he should be fired and blacklisted from becoming an LEO anywhere in the USA.....should he be so lucky as to not be tried, convicted and imprisoned..

Why?, ..how and who decides questionable, and at what point, the streets or facts which hasnt been determined?, the presumption of innocence should prevail before facts have been determined,...desk duty, no cut in pay or benefits until conviction,
law enforcement should be given the same rights and assumptions as presumed criminals

The people on the street decides. You can be assured if it is police and blacks involved it is going to be questionable. Anything to use for an excuse to loot and burn.

When an officer is involved in a shooting, or for that matter, a traffic accident, or a citizen is injured they are taken off of regular duty until an investigation can take place. The investigation can be an internal one, or conducted by an external agency such as a district attorney or state police authority. It usually depends on the severity of the issue; a simple traffic accident would be conducted internally while a shooting is usually conducted by an outside agency.

To force the officer to take unpaid leave presumes guilt. While investigations may take only a few days, they can take weeks or even months, and it is patently unreasonable to expect an officer to take unpaid leave when there has been no finding of any wrong doing.

If the investigation finds that the officer was guilty of criminal wrong doing they are almost always charged criminally and the criminal system takes charge. As with almost all criminal charges, it is not unusual to see the charge plea bargained. In most cases involving police a plea bargain will include an agreement that the officer will surrender their police certification and not apply for police or security positions.

Many investigations determine that the officer acted properly.

Some will determine that while the officer did not violate any laws, they did violate department policy or "common sense". In which case department discipline will be applied.

The Floyd case is an example of one extreme in police misconduct. The Mkiah Bryant shooting is an example of an officer not only following the law, and certainly department policy, but heroically saving lives. The officer should receive commendation for his actions. The death of Bryant is indeed a tragedy, but any fault for it does not land on the officer. He did his job and he did it exactly as it should have been done.

Yours is a plan to reduce law enforcement by giving the assumption of innocence until proven guilty to suspected criminals while denying the same rights to the people who have sworn to protest you...would you pursue a career under those conditions?

It's interesting, with the News showing several different views of the Columbus Bryant shooting (100% justified and necessary), but the thing that struck me today, once I started watching more closely - skipping Bryant pinning the woman in pink down and thrusting with her knife (no, not a 'pocket knife' like some of the Leftists tweeters would have you believe, but at least a 5 or 6 inch blade).

Notice that when the police showed up, everybody seemed to be just standing in the driveway - it was the guy who is still unnamed (except for being identified as a '43 year old man') who broke out, chasing another unnamed girl to the curb, shoving her down and kicking her in the head. Bryant came right with him, but after his initial action, and when the cop that shot had intervened with the 43 year old who kicked the girl, Bryant ran around them, knife in hand, and was in 'full stab mode' with the woman in pink when she was shot by the same cop (KUDOS to him for his situational awareness and quick thinking) - apparently four times, because a knife lunge can only be stopped by putting the knife-wielder down NOW.

And it did - unlike the idiot pundits - people like Joy Behar and Juan Williams, who said 'Why couldn't they... like... shoot in the air or something?'
Aside from the fact that bullets going up will come down at terminal velocity and possibly kill someone else, the practice of warning shots is outlawed in Ohio. So much for the wisdom of Libtards.

What intrigues me is that the parties concerned - who were just standing there when the cops arrived - MUST have seen that the police had arrived (and NO - it seems so far that WAS NOT Bryant who called them - that's a leftist media fabrication),

They knew the police were there, and they acted anyway. They didn't care about the police presence on the scene.

    Why is that?
(I don't expect an answer, will probably get half-baked 'theories', but that's an important question.)

They DID NOT CARE that the police were there.

I'm also intrigued by the male who appeared to push a female to the sidewalk,
then stood aside while peaceful Ma'Khia took a knife swing at the prone
female, then after gentle Ma'Khia had changed her focus to target the girl
in pink standing by the car, he wound up & kicked a field goal with the prone
female's body (I hope it wasn't her head, but you can't see, they put a blur
      circle there).
That man & the other "bystanders" must have some information to divulge about
      what was going on.

Shooter saw this when he was a cop.
People will so focus on whatever has upset them, and will acknowledge the arrival of the cops, then continue with whatever they were about to do.

Shooter was sent on a domestic dispute call to a bar. He walks in, the bartender nods to a couple of guys at the end of the bar, maybe 10' from Shooter. One is sitting, the other is standing behind him. Shooter approaches and the guy standing takes a beer bottle by the neck and nails his partner in the head. In real life bottles rarely break but they still cause enough damage to require 15 stitches.

Shooter later asked the assailant why he nailed his partner with Shooter standing right there. He said he was going to break the bottle and then stab the "cheating son of a bitch" but realized he wouldn't have time for two swings with the bottle, so he combined them the best he could.

The guy got 6 months and the "cheating son of a bitch" waited for him.

Dem. Fla. Rep.: Ohio officer responded as he was trained to do

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 3:40 PM PT – Sunday, April 25, 2021

Democrat Representative Val Demings (Fla.) defended the police officer who fatally shot 16-year-old Ma’khia Bryant, adding the officer followed his training.

In an interview with CBS Sunday morning, the Florida Democrat said during her time as the police chief in Orlando she “prayed her officers would respond as they’re trained to.” Additionally, Demmings highlighted the split-second decisions these officers have to make and noted viewers today have the benefit to view in slow-motion, while these officers do not.

“But [from] the limited information that I know in viewing the video, it appears that the officer responded as he was trained to do with the main thought of preventing a tragedy and a loss of life of the person who was about to be assaulted,” Demings stated.”

The 16-year-old was fatally shot by police last week. The incident caused a national uproar with many criticizing the officer for choosing to use deadly force instead of attempting to defuse the situation.

However, a video was released shortly after the incident, showing Bryant lunging at two other women with a knife.

Maximally important factor: The officer had very little time to evaluate the situation:
I counted the time from the officer opening his cruiser door to the falling of Ma'khia to the driveway: 7 seconds.
And there was a second assault/attack happening on the officer's RH side as some other man savagely kicked a second female who was down on the sidewalk. The officer had to decide which assault/attack to take action on. He decided to act against the more deadly attack; that's exemplary response.

It bears repeating; the officer did his job with exemplary skill.
That a teenaged girl died was and is not on him.

Video shows officers who dislocated elderly woman's shoulder during brutal arrest fist-bumping and laughing afterward

A video released by the lawyer for Karen Garner, the 73-year-old Colorado woman with dementia who allegedly had her shoulder dislocated and fractured while being arrested by Loveland police, indicates that the officers involved in the arrest failed to provide Garner with medical attention despite knowing she was injured, lawyer Sarah Schielke alleges.

Schielke says the video shows the three arresting officers, including Austin Hopp who allegedly was the one who injured Garner, watching bodycam video of the arrest, laughing about their use excessive force, and even fist-bumping over the fact that one of the officers intimidated a citizen who made a complaint about the arrest.

I think the North Carolina officials are trying to start a riot. First they Sheriff's office said they would let the Brown family see the body cam video or the shooting. Then they told them the family they would have to wait the needed to make "redactions." Then they told the family their lawyers could not watch the video with them. Those lawyers said they had never been treated so disrespectfully in their careers. And then the sheriff's office showed the family a 20 second video that didn't show much more than what they described as an execution.

Ben Crump and Bakari Sellers blast North Carolina officials for edited body cam video

    Bakari Sellers (Screen Shot)

Attorneys Benjamin Crump and Bakari Sellers at a press briefing currently ongoing blasted North Carolina county attorneys after the family of Andrew Brown, Jr. were able to see only a portion of what they say is edited police body cam video, repeatedly saying they were only shown 20 seconds.

Sellers, who is also a CNN analyst, accused the county attorney of telling him "he was not f*cking going to be bullied" by Sellers.

"One body cam, 20 seconds, execution," Sellers said, describing the video. "One body cam, 20 seconds, and execution."

"As we're going through this process we told the family that they would have their attorneys in there at some conference. We went back and forth and I just want you to say I've never been talked to like I was talking to him."

Deputies in Elizabeth City, North Carolina shot and killed Brown on April 21. CNN reports the death certificate says Brown died from a “penetrating gunshot wound of the head."

Attorney Crump called the police shooting of Brown an "execution."

Shooter was confused about why stumbler would post such a story.
    It doesn't mention Trump.
Doesn't accuse conservatives or deplorables of anything.
    Doesn't praise Psaki, or biden/harris.
Doesn't call the United States a "shithole country"
Not a particularly slow news day; stumbler should have no problem making quota.

AH! Shooter thinks he figured it out!
    A despicable voter is gone!
Now, someone will have to fill out his ballot for him.
    How tiresome can that be!

Cop Trainer Canned as Guest Speaker After Viral Video on Post-Kill Sex

The Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police has canceled a training session involving a controversial guest speaker, the Detroit Free Press reports. Dave Grossman, director of the “Killology Research Group,” was set to speak to a group of cops next month but the entire event was canceled after an undated video recirculated of Grossman telling officers that “the best sex” happens after you've killed someone. Grossman has been making the remark for several years. The Michigan event was intended to address mental health concerns that officers may face after killing someone on-duty.

Grossman retired from the U.S. Army in 1998 and has traveled the country to speak to law enforcement officers. According to its website, “Killology focuses on the reactions of healthy people in killing circumstances (such as police and military in combat) and the factors that enable and restrain killing in these situations.”

Dave Grossman, who trains police departments across the nation, tells a group of cops, the best sex is after killing a person. He calls it a “perk of the job,” followed by laughter from the police in attendance. This is policing in America.

Maybe they should investigate this cop. His sense of humor would be offensive to Lebron James

Feds Charge 2 NJ Cops With Beating Yemeni Teen, Falsifying Arrest Report

Two police officers in Paterson, New Jersey have been charged with civil rights and obstruction of justice offenses for allegedly beating a 19-year-old Yemeni man last year, then falsifying a police report about it. Kevin Patino, 29, and Kendry Tineo-Restituyo, 28, approached Osamah Alsaidi shortly after midnight last December as he was walking to his car to drive to work. According to the DOJ, the officers grabbed him and started punching him, including when he was lying on the ground. The pair then filed a police report falsely claiming Alsaidi had approached them “acting belligerent” and punched Patino, justifying the arrest. As The Daily Beast reported in February, Alsaidi was charged until CCTV emerged showing a completely different story. The cops face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said Tuesday the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office would take over the Paterson P.D.’s internal affairs function. At least 10 Paterson cops have been charged with misconduct in recent years.

Bodycam Footage Shows California Cops Pinning Man to Ground for Five Minutes Before He Died

Police in California’s Alameda County released horrifying bodycam footage on Tuesday that shows multiple officers pinning a 26-year-old dad to the ground for five minutes shortly before he died in a hospital. The footage from April 19 shows officers confronting Mario Gonzalez in a park before they pin him face-down in the dirt. Officers can be seen placing pressure on Gonzalez’s back and legs before he becomes unresponsive. Alameda police said the officers tried to detain Gonzalez after responding to separate reports of a man under the influence and a possible theft. Then, according to the cops, a “physical altercation ensued” and Gonzalez suffered a “medical emergency.” Gonzalez’s brother Gerardo said at a press conference on Tuesday: “The police killed my brother in the same manner that they killed George Floyd.” Three cops have been placed on administrative leave. Gonzalez is survived by his 4-year-old son.

I didn't see anything the police did that was wrong. There was something wrong with Mario. He didn't seem to be drunk but he was very confused. The police tried everything. Mario could not be left alone. He was a danger to himself and everyone else.
