That is just so true. In this instance Hunter Biden can sue the New York Post or any other news out let that runs the story. And its really hard for a "public figure" like Hunter Biden to win a libel suit because what they call public figures have to meet a much higher standard than just an average citizen. So in order to win Hunter would have to prove three things. One, the publication either knew or should have known the story was false. Two, they did not give Hunter a chance to respond before publication. And three, they did it with malicious intent.

And Hunter Biden can prove all those things.

The Wall Street Journal report cited sources that said Facebook was concerned about negatively affecting conservative news outlets when it planned on changing the algorithm that governs users' news feeds in 2017. In turn, Mark Zuckerberg signed off on an alternative that targeted "left-leaning sites like Mother Jones...more than previously planned," WSJ reported.

Following Friday's report, Mother Jones editor in chief Clara Jeffrey slammed the social media company, estimating that the move cost the publication $400,000 to $600,000. In addition, Jeffrey, and Mother Jones editorial director Ben Dreyfuss, wrote that Facebook representatives had lied to them in meetings about the change in 2017. Dreyfuss tweeted that, "they just swore up and down that wasn't what was happening," on Friday.

"We did not make changes with the intent of impacting individual publishers," a Facebook spokesperson wrote in a statement to Business Insider on Friday. "We only made updates after they were reviewed by many different teams across many disciplines to ensure the rationale was clear and consistent and could be explained to all publishers."

In 2019, Mother Jones published a report that claimed Facebook was "killing real news." It used its own traffic data to show how after Facebook-referred traffic surpassed 20 million page views in early 2017, traffic diminished to less than 5 million page views in late 2017 and 2018.

Watergate started with a very solid arrest report of Nixon's plumbers at the Watergate Hotel. And no one paid much attention to it at first until Woodward and Bernstein made the connection between the burglary being at the Democratic headquarters and the people arrested worked for Nixon.

And from beginning to end one of the biggest challenges for Woodward and Bernstein, and all the press for that matter, was separating what was fact from the misdirection, misinformation, and lies Nixon and his men were trying to feed the press.
