Brian Stelter’s CNN show continues to struggle, draws smallest audience of 2021
'Reliable Sources' has failed to crack the one-million viewer plateau for five of the past six telecasts

By Brian Flood | Fox News

Left-wing pundit Brian Stelter's media show "Reliable Sources" hit another yearly low on Sunday, averaging only 885,000 viewers for its least-watched episode of 2021.

Stelter’s program has now failed to crack the one-million viewer plateau for five of the past six telecasts as the show continues to struggle.

The latest episode of "Reliable Sources" also had its smallest audience of the year among the key demographic of adults age 25-54, averaging only 178,000 viewers from the group most coveted by advertisers.

CNN’s struggling media show "Reliable Sources" with left-wing host Brian Stelter hit another yearly low on Sunday. (Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for CNN)

Stelter’s program dropped nine percent in the demo from last week and a staggering 72 percent from its Jan. 10 edition when CNN was in the midst of a brief ratings bump.

Fox News’ "MediaBuzz," the media affairs show which is Stelter’s direct timeslot competition, averaged 1.3 million total viewers to defeat "Reliable Sources" by 47 percent. "MediaBuzz" also saw a 32-percent advantage in the key demo.

The numbers indicate Stelter’s rhetoric against "ridiculous" criticism he faced for ignoring an attack on his own colleagues went largely unheard, until it was later mocked on social media. Stelter blamed right-wing media for pointing out he ignored news that may have contradicted CNN’s liberal agenda, but he had disregarded the news up until that point.

Stelter, who typically defends the mainstream media, raised eyebrows last week when he didn’t cover his own colleagues being chased away by a violent mob Wednesday night during demonstrations in Minnesota.

Stelter’s CNN colleagues were pelted with water bottles but he didn’t put the story in his newsletter that covers the media industry, leading to speculation he didn’t want to ruin CNN’s "peaceful protest" narrative.

Stelter finally got around to mentioning the attack on CNN on Sunday during his lowest-rated show of the year – four days after the incident happened.

"This was a story that went viral in right-wing media. Frankly they claim CNN was covering it up, which is ridiculous," he said.

Author: New York Times is the godfather of fake news

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 12:30 PM PT – Tuesday, April 20, 2021

A prominent Israel-based author called The New York Times the godfather of fake news.

During an interview with Breitbart on Monday, Ashley Rindsberg said the newspaper has deliberately and radically altered history. He added the publication is guilty of everything it claims to hate, and that type of reporting is dangerous.

Rindsberg cited a debunked article from last summer, in which The New York Times claimed Russia was paying Islamist groups in Afghanistan bounties for the killing of American troops.

“But another layer to the story was the claim that Trump knew about these bounties and did nothing about it. That claim took the story from alarming to explosive. I remember thinking to myself, if this is true, this guy, meaning Trump, must be as bad as they say he is,” Rindsberg explained. “And hearing this report and accepting it as true, you really couldn’t come to any other conclusion.”

In his new book, which has garnered praise across the political spectrum, Rindsberg outlined more than a century of false narratives created by The New York Times.

He went on to say the publication needs to be held accountable for inaccurate reporting.

‘It’s Raining Power Grabs, Hallelujah!’ CNN’s Berman Exposes Lindsey Graham’s Hypocrisy In Damning Supercut

CNN’s John Berman nailed Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) with a montage of his convenient, selective interest in when to call people out for making political power plays.

On Thursday’s New Day, Berman invoked Graham’s objections to granting Washington D.C. statehood. The CNN host found it noteworthy that Graham opposes the H.R. 1 For the People Act of 2021, but has condemned D.C. statehood as a “power grab” because it would add two seats to the U.S. Senate that would more than likely be filled by Democrats.

“So the kind of grabbing that would allow D.C. residents to elect senators is bad, but not as bad by his grab standards as the House bill Democrats say would expand voting access,” Berman remarked. “For Lindsey Graham it’s raining power grabs. Hallelujah!”

From there, Berman listed off several past instances where Graham railed against “power grabs” that advanced Democrat interests. He then called out Graham for the fact that the senator went along with blocking Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court nomination in 2016, but pushed Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination forward in 2020.

More than anything when it comes to grabs, he’s got one giant Orange spot. Graham’s obsession with grabs took a four-year hiatus for Donald Trump, a literal grabber. Yes, he opposed a few of Trump’s actions on policy grounds, but not on power plays. On some, like the wall, he said, ‘It is time for President Trump to use emergency powers to fund the construction of an emergency wall/barrier.’ It’s time to grab power! Then there’s the matter of the election lie, the explicit effort by the president to throw out the election. That seems big. But remember, in graham’s world, not the biggest. That would be the Democratic effort at voting reform.

Berman went on to call out Graham over the controversy surrounding his conversations with Brad Raffensperger, plus Graham’s ongoing Trump sycophancy “insurrection be damned.”

'Completely imaginary': CNN fact checker busts GOP claims that Biden will ban hamburgers

CNN fact checker Daniel Dale on Monday shot down bogus claims circulating on right-wing media about President Joe Biden supposedly plotting to ban hamburgers.

Appearing on CNN, Dale showed how false claims about Biden's purported war on burgers began with an article in the UK tabloid The Daily Mail and spread quickly throughout right-wing media and then elected GOP officials.

The problem is that The Daily Mail's article was not a report on Biden's actual climate plans but was instead about a study showing that a 90% reduction in eating beef would significantly reduce carbon emissions.

"This is completely imaginary, it's totally fabricated," Dale said. "This is totally wrong. You have Republican governors taking a firm stand against a Biden plan that does not exist at all."

Dale then went on to describe the study, which was conducted last year by the University of Michigan.

"[The study] looked at what would happen to greenhouse gas emissions if Americans decided to change their diets in various ways," Dale explained. "One scenario they looked at what would happen if Americans cut their beef consumption down by 90 percent and found there would be a reduction in emissions. They didn't call for mandatory reduction."

Dale said that despite the fact that the Biden-bans-burgers story is based on nothing, "it's striking to see how complete nonsense has gone from a British paper to Fox to the entire right-wing ecosystem."

CNN’s John Berman Guts Kevin McCarthy’s Revisionist History Over Trump, Capitol Riot

CNN’s John Berman ripped House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy over his wishy-washy revisionism on the insurrection fomented by former President Donald Trump.

“Kevin McCarthy added a new chapter to revisionist history,” Berman summed up on New Day. “Or tried to erase a chapter of actual history. Or maybe he just made stuff up.”

Berman’s segment revolved around an interview McCarthy did on Sunday, during which, Fox News’s Chris Wallace grilled the minority leader about the alleged, profane he had with Trump while the ex-president’s supporters were violently storming the U.S. Capitol. McCarthy refused to give Wallace a straight answer to his questions, eventually landing on the explanation that “my conversations with the president are my conversations with the president.”

In Berman’s video essay, he repeatedly likened McCarthy’s reactions to the iconic scream of Home Alone protagonist Kevin McCallister. The CNN host began by mocking McCarthy’s claim that he was literally the first person to tell Trump the Capitol was under attack.

To believe this, you have to buy into the notion that no one in the White House staff, no one in the intelligence community, no one in the world, including the MyPillow guy, told the president a riot was happening a mile and a half away…We know what [Trump] does more than anything else is watch TV. It’s his superpower. TiVo is his tesseract.

Berman continued to mock McCarthy for going back and forth over Trump’s culpability over the riot, and for speaking positively about the video Trump put out to address the mob (even though it had the same false election claims that fueled the insurrection in the first place). Berman concluded that the difference between Kevin McCarthy and Kevin McCallister is that the latter “learned from his mistakes. [McCarthy] just tries to erase the historical record of them.”

I could not believe this myself. Now CNN has a hard time getting conservative/Republicans and Rick Santorum is the best they've got but this is so stupid and offensive he may have done himself in.

Rick Santorum horrified onlookers by dismissing centuries of genocide against Native Americans with a parenthetical aside during a speech.

The former Republican senator and current CNN commentator made the remarks Monday to the right-wing Young America's Foundation, and the statement was flagged by Media Matters researcher Jason Campbell.

"We birthed a nation from nothing," Santorum said. "I mean, there was nothing here. I mean, yes, we have Native Americans, but, candidly, there isn't much Native American culture in American culture."

Social media users quickly condemned Santorum's remarks and called on CNN to fire him.

CNN facing boycott from Native American journalists over Rick Santorum and 'racist comments'

    CNN screengrab.
CNN is facing continuing fallout following shocking statements by Rick Santorum, who is a political analyst for the network.

"The Native American Journalists Association strongly cautions Native American and Alaska Native reporters from working with, or applying to jobs, at CNN in the wake of continued racist comments and insensitive reporting directed at Indigenous people," the group announced on Tuesday.

"Today, a video surfaced of CNN Senior Political commentator Rick Santorum speaking at the Young America's Foundation's Standing Up for Faith & Freedom Conference in which Santorum stated 'we birthed a nation from nothing. I mean, there was nothing here. I mean, yes, we have Native Americans, but, candidly, there isn't much Native American culture in American culture.' NAJA calls on CNN to immediately dismiss Santorum from his position," the group urged.

"With a lack of accountability or ethics around multiple racist and insensitive comments from CNN staff, the Native American Journalists Association urges its members to avoid working with the network to avoid harassment and racism. NAJA also calls on advertisers, funders and journalism diversity organizations to withdraw their support from CNN indefinitely," the group added.

WATCH: CNN's Erin Burnett humiliates Rudy Giuliani's son as he tries to attack FBI investigation of his dad

    Twitter
On CNN Thursday evening, Rudy Giuliani's son Andrew went on "Erin Burnett OutFront" to defend his father and slam the federal investigation into his Ukraine work as a political hit job — only to crash and burn spectacularly on national television.

"The thing is, though, to get the warrant, it takes a lot," said Burnett.

"Who signed the warrant? A judge. Who appointed the judge? Barack Obama," said Giuliani. "Since Eric Holder became attorney general, we have seen the Justice Department get politicized ... no other judge would sign this warrant."

"You have any proof no other judge would sign the warrant?" asked Burnett.

"I don't have proof, but do you have any proof that any other judge would sign the warrant?" demanded Giuliani.

After a long detour in which the younger Giuliani tried to steer the conversation to conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden, Burnett cornered him again on his baseless allegations the investigation is politically motivated.

"Let me ask you something important about your claims of political motivation," said Burnett. "President Biden was asked about it today." She played the clip of Biden saying he had no advance knowledge of the raid on the elder Giuliani's home and office. "Do you have any reason to not take him at his word, Andrew? ... I'll just make the point again that his son's under investigation and he's done nothing to stop it."

"So you don't think he actually has the motive to intervene in that investigation?" insisted Giuliani.

"He may, but he hasn't done it," shot back Burnett.

This is a very handy check list of exactly what Trump and the treasonous conservative/Republicans did and are still doing. As a student of the rise of Hitler and the Nazis and fully aware of all the little steps they took to make Hitler a dictator. I sat horrified to watch Trump and the conservative/Republicans taking all those same steps and coming extremely close to installing Trump as a dictator and the danger is not over yet.

Which is why the rest of the country cannot allow Trump and the treasonous conservative/Republicans to try ans sweep what they really did under rug and deny what they really did. A violent insurrection and attempted coup to overthrow the results of a free and fair election. They are traitors and need to be recognized as such.

Host responds to GOP senator calling to 'move on': 'You don't get to sing kumbaya' until you stop spreading lies

CNN host Pamela Brown and Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) (Photo: Screen capture)

CNN host Pamela Brown is the reporter who fact-checked Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), when he claimed he wants to "move on" from the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol because the country must "heal." At the top of her show Sunday, she called out Marshall and other Republicans who are quick to move on from the issue tearing their party apart.

"Last night I spoke to Roger Marshall of Kansas," Brown began. "He was one of the six senators that voted against certifying the electoral results for two states hours later, and I asked about consequences of decisions like that from GOP lawmakers and if he had any regret."

She showed the video as he attempted to dodge responsibility and perpetuate the lie that led to the attack on the Capitol.

"We would all love to heal and move on from this shameful episode of our country, but here's the thing, the reality is Republicans and their followers have not moved on from the election. Case in point, the officials who enabled it or are complicit with their silence should be held accountable," said Brown. "In Arizona, as you see in this video right here, Republicans are still trying to overturn the 2020 results and fuel paranoia with a partisan audit of ballots after two prior audits already found no issues and only confirmed the results — the fact that Trump lost that state. Well, this year, Republicans in almost every single state legislature have introduced new voting restrictions. And they're using lies like 'rampant voter fraud' to justify the measures."

Former President Donald Trump, she said, "is still ranting to anyone within earshot" that he was the 2020 winner. The "real" results will come out any day, Trump claimed.

"The same GOP propaganda that led to a deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol, as you see, it has not gone away," Brown continued. "That's why I challenge every single Republican I have on the show who voted to overturn the election. They don't get to have everybody sing kumbaya until they stop repeating the same baseless claim that caused this."

Either you are a poor student, or are so blinded by party affiliation you can't see.

The deep state runs in both parties, the end result will not matter which party gets credit or blame, the power mongers win and freedom is lost.

As both parties continue with dividing the American public they undermine democracy.

Do you need to ask, what the end game will be?
