Its always been the case that in America vaccination was a personal choice, not subject to government edicts.
There were of course the schools who properly said, if your child isn't vaccinated they will have to be home schooled, but if a parent really did not want their child vaccinated because they had a genuine fear of adverse effects, no one much gave a damn.

Now we have the next chapter of the Covid overreaction.

Anyone not vaccinated is to be demonized. Anyone who questions the vaccine is to be vilified. Vaccination is to be portrayed as the "patriotic" thing to do. Failure to be properly vaccinated will be equated with murder and treason.

CNN’s Jamie Gangel Says ‘This Is Just The Beginning’ for Cheney: She’s Forcing GOP to Vote for the Truth or for Trump

CNN’s Jamie Gangel said on Monday “this is just the beginning” for Liz Cheney.

Cheney is likely going to be ousted from her position as House GOP conference chair on Wednesday, in a vote confirmed by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

The vote to oust Cheney is taking place because she has continued to call out Donald Trump’s big lie about the 2020 election. So Gangel and Jake Tapper found it notable that McCarthy’s Monday letter talked about the GOP being a big-tent party.

Gangel said Cheney is not viewing this vote as a personal one, but about “principle over politics.”

“She is forcing her Republican colleagues to either vote for what she sees as democracy, truth, the rule of law, or to vote for Donald Trump,” she continued. “She could have pivoted. She didn’t have to make all of these statements. She certainly orchestrated this vote. She wanted it to come to a head and I believe this is just the beginning of what will be a campaign against Donald Trump.”

Regarding that idea of a campaign against Trump, Gangel elaborated:

Every time the Republican party does something or Donald Trump says something, we’re going to all go to Liz Cheney and say, ‘What do you think about that?’ And she’s not alone. It’s true it’s a pretty lonely club. Mitt Romney, Larry Hogan from Maryland, Adam Kinzinger, but keep in mind there are all of these Republicans who either left Congress because they retired or they resigned. Republicans who gave up their party registration who may be interested in another direction, and I think that’s the direction Liz Cheney is going to lead.

Tapper asked about them potentially forming a third party. Gangel said that’s not where they’re looking now, but instead want the GOP to be “brought away from” Trump.

On Monday's edition of "The Lead," anchor Jake Tapper slammed the ongoing GOP-backed effort to "audit" the results of the Arizona presidential election — which has drawn scrutiny by everyone from the Justice Department to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

"A new chapter in the unprecedented partisan ballot recount, or 'audit' in Arizona launched by believers of the big lie," said Tapper. "This week, the 2.1 million Maricopa County ballots cast in the 2020 election are being recounted for a third time. The previous two audits found no evidence of election fraud. A reminder that the Maricopa County election board is run by Republicans who all attested to the legitimacy of that county's election. The state's governor also is a Trump-supporting republican."

"Nonetheless, the insanity, cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs is happening, and it's all happening in a shroud of secrecy," continued Tapper. "Only the pro-Trump One America News Network is in control of the livestream of the event, a network that continues to push lies about the 2020 election, of course. Legitimate news organizations have had to fight to get one camera in there. The counting is expected to last well into the summer. There is, of course, a little hiccup at the end of this week. They have to pause because local high schools need the space for graduations."

CNN's Ratings Enter Smoking Crater Territory

While CNN’s potato squad obsesses over every move Fox News makes, the latest ratings suggest they might want to spend a little more time worrying about their own network. Things aren’t just bad — they are reaching smoking crater territory.


Last Friday, not a single CNN program broke 900,000 viewers and the primetime lineup got absolutely crushed.



The average in January is a bit misleading as CNN’s left-wing viewer base was really jazzed about Biden’s election at that point. Still, the current ratings are just terrible. You have a major cable news network, one which claims to be “better” than the others out there, just getting crushed across the board. Neil Cavuto’s mid-afternoon show, already a ratings dumpster for Fox News, is beating every single CNN primetime shown. Greg Gutfeld is more than doubling up Don Lemon despite the fact that Gutfeld’s show is supposedly more niche, being a comedic exercise. Jake Tapper, for all the insistence of what a great newsman he is, comes nowhere close to competing in either of his timeslots.

When you factor in the key demo numbers, things are even worse for CNN. They have no audience to speak of in comparison to the amount of investment they put out and their already existent name ID. When you are getting spanked by Joy Reid’s conspiracy-laden rantings, maybe it’s time to change course?

I can’t imagine Jeff Zucker is long for his job with this kind of downfall, though, CNN as a network has shown itself to be stubborn. They’ve refused to correct the issues that have led to them being the least-watched major cable news network on TV. That used to be explained away as a function of CNN being too middle of the road, but their current lineup makes MSNBC blush when it comes to partisan bias. Perhaps their hosts just stink at their jobs?

CNN had a chance to reset after Joe Biden’s election. Instead, they leaned more into their hostile partisanship. That’s not paying dividends. It’s at the point where they should probably install a gift shop for the onlookers. Maybe they can make ends meet that way.

The so-called "most trusted name in news" virtually ignored the biggest international news story in its primetime programming.

Tensions have risen this week along the border of Israel and the Gaza strip as the terrorist group Hamas has launched over a thousand rockets into the skies of the Jewish State, which were largely blocked by the Iron Dome defensive system, but the death toll continues to climb on both sides, causing a divide in the US among moderate Democrats who support Israel and far-left progressives advocating for Palestinians.

From Monday through Thursday, CNN's most-watched anchors in the 8 pm-11 pm ET lineup failed to address the escalating conflict.



However, after being shamed by critics throughout the week, Anderson Cooper dedicated a generous four minutes to the subject at the end of Friday's installment of "Anderson Cooper 360." "Cuomo Prime Time" and the first hour of "CNN Tonight" never mentioned the Middle East crisis.

In other words, out of 900 minutes of CNN's primetime programming, just 0.4% covered the Israel-Gaza conflict.

On Tuesday, Lemon brought on Fareed Zakaria to discuss the Middle East violence in his poorly-watched second hour of "CNN Tonight."

CNN's obsessive coverage of Cheney is confirming the speculation of critics that the liberal network needs the GOP drama on Capitol Hill to fill its airwaves in hopes of fueling a "Republican civil war."



As the conservative Ruthless podcast pointed out, CNN's ratings took a nosedive since President Trump left office and the network is desperate to salvage its viewership hoping that magnifying GOP infighting will stop the freefall.

Over the past several weeks, CNN's primetime anchors have struggled to reach over 1 million viewers as Cooper and Cuomo barely surpass a seven-digit audience and Lemon often falls short.

Former Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett fired back at a CNN International anchor who suggested Israel was using excessive force and firing indiscriminately against Hamas terrorists, asking her what she would want her country to do under extensive rocket fire.

CNN's Becky Anderson suggested to Bennett there was no way for Israel to obey "international law" when striking back at Hamas rocket attacks this week, which has targeted and killed Israeli civilians.
"How can any strikes on Gaza, which is such a densely populated area, be targeted at military sites only?" she asked. "It doesn't suggest that Israel is supporting international law … Perhaps will you admit that these airstrikes have been indiscriminate?"

"Absolutely not," Bennett said. "Perhaps you suggest that we just lay back, let them shoot rockets at us, not shoot back, because they are hiding the rockets behind women and children. Would you do that, Becky? If your family was under fire, would you suggest that your government not defend you because they are hiding the guns and rockets behind civilians?"

Anderson didn't answer, shifting to Israel having superior technology and asking him to admit Palestinian civilians were suffering the most during the conflict.
"They are suffering the most from their own government," he said, reiterating the known Hamas practice of using human shields and employing civilian areas as weapons depots. "Any country is expected to defend its citizens, and you, Becky, should not be speaking about us. It's them, it's Hamas, it's deplorable what they're doing, using their own people as human shields. There's nothing more cynical than that."

Anderson referred to Israel as "occupiers" and quoted organizations calling it an "apartheid" state during the interview, declaring Jerusalem had never been "more divided" than now.
"Where does this end, sir?" she asked.

"Actually, the city has been way more divided," he said. "When it was under Arab rule, Jews were forbidden to go to the Wailing Wall. While it's under Israeli rule, and it will continue to be under Israeli rule, any Muslim, any Christian, any Jew, can enjoy the freedom of religion … Yes, there are tensions."

The moment Hamas decided it no longer wanted to annihilate the Jews, he said, the conflict could end.

"The moment they give up their desire to annihilate the Jewish people and the Jewish land, there will be peace," he said.

CNN is under fire for having hired a writer who posted several times on social media that he believes the world needs another "Hitler."

Social media users demanded that the network respond after discovering the tweets from one of its freelance contributors, Adeel Raja, who has written dozens of pieces for the outlet.

After some digging, it turned out to be one of several messages Raja has posted praising the Nazi leader.

"The only reason I am supporting Germany in the finals - Hitler was a German and he did good with those Jews!" Raja wrote during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Raja last had a CNN byline on Sept. 16, 2020. He still lists his affiliation with the network on LinkedIn.

"Hail Hitler!" he wrote the following day. Twitter users shared screenshots of the messages.

CNN spokesman Matt Dornic told the Washington Examiner that he "never heard" of Raja and that he's "looking into it."

Late Sunday, CNN provided the following comment to Fox News:

"Adeel Raja has never been a CNN employee. As a freelancer, his reporting contributed to some newsgathering efforts from Islamabad. However, in light of these abhorrent statements, he will not be working with CNN again in any capacity."

The unearthing of Raja's controversial comments come amid the escalating violence between Israel and the militant group Hamas in the Middle East, which is at its most violent since the 2014 Gaza War, according to reports.



Palestinian militants have fired hundreds of rockets into Israel, the majority of which have been intercepted by Israel’s "Iron Dome" missile defense system. Israel has also responded with a series of airstrikes, which have taken out some of Hamas' senior leaders.

"In response to HUNDREDS of rockets in the last 24 hours, the IDF has struck a number of significant terror targets and terror operatives across the Gaza Strip, marking our largest strike since 2014," the Israeli Defense Forces wrote on Twitter. "We are currently striking more terror targets in Gaza."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas that there will be more retaliation where that came from.



"We'll do whatever it takes to restore order and quiet, and the security of our people and deterrence," Netanyahu said on "Face the Nation" on Sunday. "We're trying to degrade Hamas' terrorist abilities and to degrade their will to do this again."

Palm Beach County Prosecutor Tells CNN DeSantis Can’t Prevent Trump Getting Extradited to NYC If The Former President Is Indicted

Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg told CNN’s Jim Acosta that even if Gov. Ron DeSantis wanted to block New York prosecutors from extraditing former President Donald Trump if they indict him, the Florida governor would only be able to delay it from happening, not stop it completely.

A New York grand jury is investigating the former president and his businesses for banking and tax fraud, and last week, Politico reported that local authorities in Palm Beach County had discussed what to do if Trump were indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance and ordered to be extradited to New York.

“Last week,” said Acosta, “there were some reports that prosecutors in Florida were beginning to have conversations with prosecutors in New York about the possibility of extraditing Trump to New York if some kind of an indictment comes down that affects the former president. Are you aware of these talks, have you been involved in these talks? What can you tell us about that?

“I can clear that up,” Aronberg, whose elected role as State Attorney makes him the top prosecutor for Palm Beach County, “and we have not had conversations with prosecutors in New York about this.”

Aronberg explained that the news stories were about informal conversations between the clerk of court and other local officials, and a New Yorker article awhile back that discussed rumors that DeSantis might try to stand in the way of an extradition offer.

But the governor’s power under Florida law to stop an extradition was “really nonexistent,” explained Aronberg. “He can try to delay it, he can send it to a committee, and do research about it, but his role is really ministerial. And ultimately, the state of New York can go to court and get an order to extradite the former president but DeSantis could delay matters.”

“You’ll fight that, obviously, if that’s the case?” asked Acosta.

“We would be part of it,” replied Aronberg. “But it’s really ministerial.”

“But, then again, I thought that when Congress counted the votes on January 6th, that would be ministerial too, and look what happened then, so you have to be prepared for anything.”
