Does anyone have a Drive-in near them?? There are a couple close by me.

 

The one I’ve been to the most is still open and has been operating since 1964.
The first movie I can remember seeing there, would be Flipper.
These days it’s better if I just fall asleep at home.

 

There's a few around here (Western NY state) though I haven't been for awhile.

 

When I was a kid there were three drive-ins, used to hang out often, the whole thing, sneaking people in the trunk, snack counter, ...like in Grease without the singing.
We went to Drive ins because we couldnt smoke in theaters obviously, and filled the cooler with beers and booze, I had no "Sandy" moments...
my only claim to fame was passing out in the bathroom and friends finding me after the movie was over...the film was Xanadu with Olivia N. John

 

They're pretty non existant out here. Property is too expensive for the amount of income produced. But we used to have many of them back in the day. It's where we went as teenagers to drink, smoke and make out.
As far as watching the movie, it's not the quality experience you would get in a theater.

But, as teenagers, we went to drink, smoke and make out! And yes, the theater experience is much better if you really want to watch a movie.

 

Our last one shut down maybe 10 years ago or better. we used to have the Red Bluff theater in Pasadena, Texas. Man I loved it when dad drove past.
They showed x rated stuff. Dad told us not to look, HA! That's exactly what I did was look, and he had to drive.

We used to have a lot of them here, but then land got so expensive that they all were developed into shopping centers.

 

There used to be one in a small town in Arkansas. It was open a while back.
When I say a while back that could have been 30 years ago.
I used to laugh at the old timers where I worked.
they would be talking about something they said happened a few days ago and it would be 30-40 years ago.
They even remembered how the weather was.

 

Surprised drive-ins aren’t being touted as a way of further protection from Covid. We can go from sitting at home to sitting in our cars.

 

In the summer here in NJ they had bunch of pop up where places like farms put up screen on weekends

 

In my area, we have at at least over 5 drive in movie theaters.

Mid last year Walmart was doing drive in theaters in store parking lot due to COVID.

There are at least 3 that I can think of close to where I live !!!

 

We had a spike in attendance in a few of drive ins when the theaters closed because of covid. They started playing old movies. The one down the street had Jaws and Jurassic Park playing together or all three Back to the future movies

 

We would go to the drive in to smoke pot and have sex. I used to go there with my boyfriend and suck his dick during the movie
