‘Women didn’t like that’: Fox News host grills GOP chairwoman after Trump interrupts ‘145 times’ at debate

Fox News host Sandra Smith pressed Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel on Thursday over the idea that President Donald Trump could be punished with a “mute button” after he repeatedly interrupted Democratic candidate Joe Biden at Tuesday’s presidential debate.

During an interview on Fox News, Smith noted that the Commission on Presidential Debates is considering changing the rules due to the constant interruptions at the first debate between Biden and Trump.

“At any point when you were watching the debate, did you wish that perhaps President Trump didn’t jump in there as much as he did?” Smith wondered.

“I actually wanted him to keep asking him about stacking the Supreme Court,” McDaniel replied.

“But to that point about the interruptions,” Smith interrupted. “Did you ever think, that’s too much?”

“Joe Biden was interrupting the president just as much,” McDaniel claimed falsely. “It was the back and forth.”

“But I’m asking you a question that you’re not answering,” Smith countered. “Did at any point, did you think it would be better for your party, better for the Trump campaign to not have jumped in as much as he did?”

* “Many women didn’t like that,” the Fox News host continued. “They didn’t like the aggressiveness that they saw on the stage.”

“At any point, I’m asking you, Ronna, did you wish the president didn’t jump in as much?” she asked.

“I’m speaking as a female voter,” McDaniel said. “I wanted to see the president to force Joe Biden to answer these questions. I really wanted Chris Wallace to do it and I was glad to see the president do it.”

Smith went on to point to a recent Monmouth University national poll that found Biden leads Trump 57% to 38% among women voters.

“Doesn’t that concern you?” Smith pressed.

For her part, McDaniel asserted that “a lot” of Trump’s debate performance appealed to women.

Smith reminded McDaniel that Trump had more than twice as many interruptions as Biden.

“When you look at the interruptions, our Brain Room dug into exactly how many interruptions there were on the part of both candidates,” Smith remarked. “In total, Biden, 67 times. President Trump, 145 times. You can tally it up and you can see there were more interruptions.”

“Would you support a mute button?” Smith wanted to know.

“These are grown men,” McDaniel insisted. “They can handle each other.”

*One of the most shocking outcomes of the 2016 election was that women, and especially suburban women, broke for Trump. And the simple mathematical fact is no candidate can win without the woman vote. And Trump has been driving women and especially suburban women away. And kicked that into high gear at the debate. That was actually evident following the debate when it was the female hosts, guests, and pundits that were sickened, disgusted, and enraged.

Shooter saw a thing that said Trump interrupted Biden or Wallace 71 times. That, he recalls, was a CBS report.
Wrong story claims it was 145 times.
Slate said it was 128 times.
The Boston Globe said it was "more than 10 times".
Only the first report, from CBS, noted that Biden/Wallace interrupted Trump almost as many times. No one else seemed to care that Biden and Wallace were equally guilty of poor behavior.

Two observations;
First, the fact that everyone is concentrating on how many times Trump interrupted Biden or Wallace, not how incredibly unprofessional the entire debate was, tells us everything we need to know about today's American politics. These, one has to ask, are the two choices we have?

Second, media is so incredibly fucked up about Trump that even a simple thing like counting the number of times a thing happens in a video is subject to lying and cheating. But given it's wrong story, we already knew all we needed to know about their credibility anyway.

Did you miss the point that even thinking it's newsworthy, how fucking rude elected leaders can be to each other, is more telling about our political landscape?
Did you miss that wrong story has no credibility? Shooter wouldn't trust a weather report from that bunch.

As Biden surges in polls, Fox Business host explains why a ‘blowout win’ will be ‘good for Wall Street’

Fox Business host Stuart Varney reflected on Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s surging lead in the polls and speculated that a “blowout win” against President Donald Trump would be “good for Wall Street.”

As Trump was recovering from a COVID-19 infection at Walter Reed Medical Center on Monday, Varney found some good news in an improving stock market.

“This is on the fact that if there is a Biden presidency — I know taxes will go up — but also you’ll get stimulus and hopefully some more spending by consumers,” correspondent Susan Li explained on Varney’s Fox Business program.

“That’s coming out a lot today,” Varney agreed. “Okay, you get Biden winning the White House and if the Democrats take back the Senate, yes, that eventually means tax increases but in the immediate future it means a massive increase in government spending. Because that’s what they’re going to do. And that will be good for Wall Street.”

“Exactly,” Li agreed. “And also the fact that there might not be a prolonged, shall we say, election uncertainty. That’s also good for the markets as well.”

“Well, if it was a blowout win for either side, that does give you a result much quicker,” Varney added. “So you’ve got a lot of positives actually. The stimulus is still on the table. It ain’t out of bounds yet. Possibility of real stimulus if the Democrats take the Senate. And that will be gigantic.”

Fox News host Sandra Smith grilled Trump campaign press secretary Hogan Gidley on Tuesday after President Donald Trump removed his mask at the White House despite having the coronavirus.

In an interview on Fox News, Gidley was angered by a question about Trump’s decision to downplay the use of masks throughout the course of the pandemic.

“The way the media tell it, it’s as though they’ve been wearing masks the entire time,” Gidley complained. “They have not.”

“Hold on, Hogan,” Smith said as Gidley talked over her. “We’re just having a real conversation about it because even the imagery and the optics last night of the president standing up on the balcony facing the American people, showing his strength, pulls off his mask, don’t let this virus defeat you. Is there any concern about that level of optimism and what that does to the American people?”

“As he tore that mask off, still knowing his has the coronavirus, and then walks into the White House,” the Fox News host added.

Gidley argued that Trump’s decision was warranted because he was * “outside on the balcony.”

The press secretary went on to attack Democratic candidate Joe Biden for not wearing a mask during an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt (although the two men were distanced from each other).

“Hogan, there’s one big difference,” Smith noted. “The president is currently shedding the virus. He’s still of the 10-day virus phase.”

Fox & Friends host fumes at Trump for stimulus debacle: ‘It looks like he’s to blame now!’

Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday whacked President Donald Trump for unilaterally calling off economic relief talks until after the election by pointing out the the president just did significant damage to his re-election campaign.

Kilmeade began by discussing the importance of more help from the government to help businesses get through the novel coronavirus pandemic.

“For the president to come out with a tweet like that with the markets still open, it just crashed the market and cost people a lot of money,” he said. “You have 30,000 people who are about to lose their jobs and be furloughed through no fault of their own. The tourism industry, the hospitality industry has been destroyed. If you work in a hotel, you don’t need me to tell you.”

He then blasted the president for being the one to announce stimulus talks had been shut off until after the election.

“I understand negotiating tactics, but not at this point!” he fumed. “I actually think the president has more pressure on him now than he had before his first tweet because Nancy Pelosi can now clearly turn around and say, ‘It’s not my fault, I was having talks!’ So it looks like the president is the one to blame now! I don’t know how he has leverage!”

I could be wrong about this. But I suspect if we ever find the truth about why they do not release the date of Trump's negative test its because Trump did not get tested. He believed if everyone around him was getting tested then he didn't have to. Which would be very typical of mentally ill people. They hate to get tested on anything because they tend to be paranoid and think everyone is out to get them.

Fox News hosts Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier on Wednesday pressured White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to divulge the details of President Donald Trump’s most recent negative COVID-19 test, which would give insight into how his infection is progressing.

During an appearance on Fox News, Meadows revealed that White House staffers are dressing in “full” protective gear if they have a need to enter the Oval Office after Trump returned earlier today.

“You know, there’s a lot of talk about when he first contracted the virus,” Baier told Meadows. “And there are a lot of things we still don’t know.”

“We don’t know when his last negative test was,” the Fox News host continued. “Will we?”

“Well, we don’t normally get into the testing protocol for the president,” Meadows replied. “Obviously, the doctor has already spoken about that, that it was a positive test on last Thursday evening when he was confirmed to have the coronavirus.”

“We caught it very, very early,” he added. “We’re just very thankful that he’s where he’s at and we’re looking forward to hopefully having a not only a healthy president, but a healthy America.”

MacCallum tried again to push Meadows to give a timeline of the president’s most recent negative test.

“I just want to go back around to this one more time,” MacCallum said. “Because it was put out today that the Gold Star families that were at the event at the White House on Sept. 27 have been told that they may have been exposed to coronavirus when they were there.”

“So, that’s why it’s so important to know when his case was active,” she continued, “and the places he went during that time and also all the other people at the White House.”

Meadows, again, sidestepped the question by suggesting that the Gold Star families were notified out of an abundance of caution.

“That’s to try to make sure that we can mitigate the risk of anybody that has come in contact with it,” Meadows said. “Anybody that was at risk has been contacted.”

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani reportedly tried pushing his Hunter Biden smear story to reporters at Fox News — but even they felt it was too sketchy to run.

Mediaite reports that Giuliani approached Fox’s news division with a scoop about emails purportedly found on Hunter Biden’s laptop, but decided not to run with it “unless or until the sourcing and veracity of the emails could be properly vetted.”

In fact, two sources tell Mediaite that “the lack of authentication of Hunter Biden’s alleged laptop, combined with established concerns about Giuliani as a reliable source and his desire for unvetted publication, led the network’s news division to pass.”

Giuliani subsequently took the story to the New York Post, which did publish stories on the emails. The former New York mayor openly admitted recently that he went to the Post because he knew they would not try to vet the story before running with it.

An internal Fox News memo leaded earlier this year warned that Giuliani has a “high susceptibility to disinformation” being spread about the Biden’s by Kremlin-linked operatives.

Chris Wallace throws cold water on Biden smear: ‘We would have seen the fruits of that investigation by now’

Fox News host Chris Wallace on Thursday warned that Democratic nominee Joe Biden could expose President Donald Trump’s “secret” Chinese bank account during the final presidential debate.

While appearing on Fox News, Wallace predicted that Trump will try to attack Biden’s son, Hunter, at Thursday’s presidential debate.

“It’s certainly going to be brought up tonight,” Wallace said. “If [debate moderator] Kristen Welker doesn’t bring it up — and I think she will — the president will bring it up.”

Wallace noted that several conservative pundits have cautioned Trump against making the allegations against Hunter Biden the focus of the debate.

“I think the president has to be a little careful,” the Fox News host continued. “Because you heard Barack Obama yesterday point out that The New York Times had revealed that Donald Trump has — not had, but has — a secret bank in China. And said that, you know, if that had come out when he was president, people would have called him Beijing Barry.”

“It seems to me that Biden is going to have something to come back at,” he remarked.

Wallace went on to note that the attempt to smear Biden’s family may not be based on the truth.

“The question is whether or not he personally benefitted financially,” Wallace explained. “Remember that the hard drive [that the computer repair shop] gave to the FBI in December of 2019 — so about 10-11 months ago — they’ve had and one assumes that had Biden taken money from a foreign entity while he was vice president and had he lied because we’ve seen his tax returns from 2019 that we would have seen the fruits of that investigation by now.”

The problem for Ingraham became clear once the photo was expanded to show Lufthansa, a German airline company next to another check-in for Austrian Airlines.

Most of the rest of the world isn’t allowing travelers from the United States into their countries because the coronavirus is far more widespread.

In June, one man posted a video of himself at the Miami Airport in the International Terminal where he too was the only one around. By Ingraham’s logic, Gov. Ron DeSantis is just as bad as Virginia’s Democratic governor.
