Joe Biden Makes His ‘Closing Argument’ — To Fox News Audience

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden made his final pitch to voters Friday — laying out his closing arguments to none other than the Fox News audience.

In an op-ed published by Fox News, the former vice president highlighted President Donald Trump’s failure to handle the coronavirus outbreak — explaining his own plan to control the pandemic and rebuild the economy.

Citing a study released by Columbia University, Biden explained to readers that up to 210,000 American deaths could have been avoided, blaming the president for mismanaging the epidemic.

“Choosing instead to lie to us, divide us and promise that the coronavirus pandemic would go away ‘like a miracle’ cost us irreplaceable lives and made our economic collapse far more painful than it ever should have been,” Biden wrote of Trump’s coronavirus response.

“President Trump campaigned in 2016 promising to lift up the forgotten man — but once he took office, he forgot him,” added the candidate. “He lost sight of working people. Now, not only has he given up on fighting this virus, he’s actively fighting to strip protections away from 130 million Americans with preexisting conditions.”
Biden stressed that he grew up with working families in Scranton, Pa in an effort to unify the nation — noting that Wall Street “didn’t build this country.”

The former vice president clarified his tax plan and promised that he would not raise taxes on anyone making under $400,000 a year but vowed to ensure the uber-wealthy pay their share.

“Americans need a president who sees the world like they do, and treats everyone with dignity and respect,” he added. “On Day One, I’ll mount an aggressive approach to control this virus and get us back to our lives. I’ll make sure that we don’t just recover from this economic slump, but build back better than before — creating an economy that deals everyone in.”

Chris Wallace Presses Corey Lewandowski on Covid Cases: ‘Hasn’t the President Failed at His Biggest Job This Year — Containing the Virus?’

Chris Wallace spoke with Trump campaign senior adviser Corey Lewandowski Sunday and pressed him on the continuing concerns over the coronavirus pandemic with just days to go until the 2020 election.

Wallace brought up how just this past Friday the number of new daily cases reached almost 100,000, and how a number of states have hit new single-day records on covid cases, along with a new interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci candidly criticizing the U.S. response.

“Hasn’t the president failed at his biggest job this year, containing the virus?” Wallace asked.

Lewandowski said “of course not” and pointed to actions Trump look on China travel and on needed ventilators and hospital bed.

* “The survival rate right now — and I’m not belittling this —** is 99.99% if you’re under the age of 50 years old if you get covid-19 so we have to be careful…” Lewandowski said.

Wallace remarked that he’s “accentuating the positive” and said, “The fact is more than 230,000 Americans have died so far from this disease. On Wednesday, a thousand people died. On Thursday, a thousand people died.”

He went on to confront Lewandowski over the president’s comments about doctors on the front lines getting “more money if somebody dies from covid.”

In the latest news we see that while covid cases are on the rise, covid deaths are not rising. The medicos are learning how to treat covid and limiting complications in patients with compromised immune systems.

Please take note of @shootersa 's blatant lie here. First there is always a lag of deaths after COVID 19 cases increase. But @shootersa is also pushing the Trump lie because they have changed the way CDC counts COVID deaths and are now waiting for death certificates before they count them as COVID deaths. Which is really slowing things down and hiding the real numbers.

Fox News GOP strategist warns Trump is ‘in big trouble’

President Donald Trump responds to a question about Jussie Smollett (Screen cap).

GOP strategist Colin Reed believes that Donald Trump’s presidency is on its last legs.

In his latest Fox News column, Reed argues that the president and his party are “big trouble” while warning that conditions that created Trump’s upset win in 2016 seem to be absent from this year’s race.

“Trump faces an ominous four-headed monster as campaign 2020’s hourglass winds down — factors that will reverberate down-ballot into Senate races,” he writes.

Among other things, Reed notes that Trump was forced to campaign in states like Georgia in the waning days of the election, which shows that he’s playing “defense” in states that should be locked away by this point.

He also notes that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is “swamping” the president’s campaign financially, and that the COVID-19 pandemic is “cresting at the worst possible moment.”

The “most important” factor, writes Reed, is the fact that “Biden is not Hillary Clinton.”

“His approval numbers are right at 50 percent, according to Real Clear Politics, with his unfavorable marks sitting at 44,” he writes. “Clinton, by contrast, entered election day 2016 with her favorability 12 points underwater, 42-54 percent.”

Reed concludes by noting that Trump still has a shot at winning, but argues that “if Trump can somehow pull another rabbit out of his hat, it will be a greater political feat than even his remarkable 2016 victory.”

Pete Buttigieg Rips Trump’s ‘Mismanagement of the Pandemic’ on Fox News: ‘We Should Settle for Worse Numbers?’

Pete Buttigieg appeared on Fox News Monday night and clashed with Martha MacCallum over President Donald Trump’s economic record prior to and during the coronavirus pandemic.

Buttigieg appeared with MacCallum right after Trump communications director Tim Murtaugh was on defending the president’s economic record.

The former mayor responded by remarking, “I guess he thinks we are all stupid.”

Buttigieg slammed Trump’s record and said, “If he’s trying to use the 2020 economy as an example of an economic triumph, he’s living on a different planet than the rest of us. The only reason those numbers are what they are is because it’s a partial comeback from the bloodbath that was the second quarter. We are still down as I think anybody knows.”

“Well, I think anybody would understand that obviously when you shut down an entire economy the way that we had to, it’s going to take a while to come back,” MacCallum responded. “Some would say that it’s come back two thirds from how far it was down. By any estimation from what happened, that’s a strong number… it’s not back where it was but we understand the world we live in too.”

Buttigieg hit Trump’s “mismanagement of the pandemic,” and MacCallum responded, “You can characterize that however you want. Anybody who was president was going to have to go through that economic dive and come back out of it.”

“Well, except in other countries it didn’t happen quite like that, did it?” Buttigieg asked.

“Well, we have the most diverse country in the entire world. We have a set of complex problems with our population, it’s a completely different environment,” MacCallum said.

“So we should settle for less? So we should settle for worse numbers?” Buttigieg shot back.

“Absolutely not,” MacCallum said. “All I’m saying is there’s only one way to know how they would’ve handled it and we don’t have two presidents at once.”

She brought up the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette endorsement of Trump, which praised him in particular on the economy.

Buttigieg again slammed Trump’s record on the economy compared to his predecessor Barack Obama’s.

Fox News’ Bill Hemmer: We Haven’t Seen Evidence on Team Trump Nevada Claims, ‘At What Moment Do You Say Put Up or Shut Up?’

Fox News’ Bill Hemmer pressed Matt Schlapp Tuesday over the claims he’s making of widespread voter fraud in Nevada.

Schlapp claimed that they have evidence of “thousands and thousands of illegal votes” in the state.

Hemmer questioned him on that and said, “What it sounds to be as if there’s a case at the margins, but not overall at the state itself.” Schlapp objected to that characterization.

Minutes later, Hemmer said, “There has since been over the past couple of days evidence that there were members of the military that voted overseas. How do you defend that? Go ahead. And if there is a distinction, make it.

Schlapp said that’s not the case, claiming that the number of improper votes will “swell to 9000” at the least. He knocked the media for pushing “a mantra” that there’s no evidence yet, claiming, “I’ve never been to a place where we were able to demonstrate almost immediately thousands and thousands of improper ballots.”

“I’m not trying to tell you anything, I’m just trying to ask and figure it out myself,” Hemmer said. “When do we see that evidence there of these thousands and thousands that you’re talking about?”

Schlapp said they checked the database and claimed that the number will get “much larger” upon further scrutiny.

Later in the hour, Hemmer followed up on that in his interview with Senator Thom Tillis, the North Carolina Republican who was declared the winner in his race against Cal Cunningham earlier in the afternoon.

“Matt Schlapp just came back from Clark County,” Hemmer said. “He’s arguing that there are thousands and thousands of illegal votes cast. Well, that may or may not be the case, but so far we haven’t seen any evidence of that.”

And he directly asked Tillis, “At what moment do you say put up or shut up?”

Tillis said it’s “empirically wrong” to say that no fraud occurs, while adding, “Whether it not it rose to a level where it determined an outcome are the kinds of questions that you ask in these very, very close races.”

He said this is “a process we need to go through” and see what the courts say.

President Donald Trump on Thursday shared the tweets of multiple former Fox News viewers who are angry over the outcome of the 2020 election.

“Like it or not Fox News tried to persuade an election,” one retweet said. “Wether they did or not I don’t know but the intent was definitely there. I’ll never watch the channel again.”

“NEWSMAX and OANN are all we got for now,” another tweet shared by the president opined.

Other retweets shared by the president were from angry Fox News viewers who said they have switched to OAN and Newsmax.

Insiders told Axios this week that the president plans to “wreck” Fox News over its reporting on the 2020 election.

“He’s going to spend a lot of time slamming Fox,” one source said.

Fox’s Leland Vittert Goes At It with Trump Campaign’s Erin Perrine in Explosive Segment on Election Results

Fox News Channel’s Leland Vittert tangled with a Trump campaigns spokesperson again on Saturday. This time, ending up in an extremely heated back-and-forth with Erin Perrine of Trump’s legal team, over the claims of vote fraud from President Donald Trump and his team.

They began with Vittert asking about the “path” to electoral victory, with Vittert essentially pressing for Perrine to explain how any of the current legal actions and rhetoric might actually result in a change to the outcome in any state, much less the overall election.

“What states are the, is the president going to pull ahead in?” he said, after laying out the current margins. It immediately turned into an interrupting match as Perrine repeatedly refused to answer about where exactly would the campaign find enough votes to get ahead.

As they continued arguing Perrine at one point said “keep snark, you know, making your faces and rolling your eyes, Leland.”

“I get it, I get it, you guys spent years trying to run out the Russian hoax against the President and trying to say this over, and the hypocrisy continues. Because you know what, Hillary Clinton said ‘don’t concede’ to Joe Biden, and now everybody wants to say ‘this is over’ for us. It’s ridiculous,” said Perrine as Vittert kept repeating his question.

When Vittert said he wasn’t trying to tell her it’s over, Perrine responded that “you guys keep going, uh, president-elect, it sorta sounds like you’re saying it’s over.”

Replying to her characterization, Vittert said “I don’t know who ‘you guys’ are, okay. You and I are having, I’m trying to have a conversation with you.”

Not realizing that she was the one who said “you guys” Perrine was then offended by Vittert saying “I don’t know who you guys are.” He clearly meant he didn’t know who she was grouping him with under that heading, but Perrine took it as an affront.

“You guys? I’m Erin Perrine. I work for the president of the United States,” she said. Vittert brought up the “you guys” thing a bit more as they continued the battle from there.

Perrine never did answer whether there was a path to victory, and where it might exist for the president.

‘She never sent us any evidence’: Tucker Carlson swats down Trump lawyer’s voter fraud conspiracy theories

On Fox News Thursday night, Tucker Carlson — usually a staunch defender of President Donald Trump — scorned the performance of Sidney Powell, an attorney for the president’s campaign who alleged widespread voter fraud and conspiracy theories during a press conference earlier in the day.

“What Powell was describing would amount to the single greatest crime in American history,” said Carlson. “Millions of votes stolen in a day. Democracy destroyed. The end of our centuries-old system of self-government, not a small thing … we took Sidney Powell seriously, we have no intention of fighting her, we’ve always respected her work. We simply wanted to see the details. How could you not want to see them?”

“So we invited Sidney Powell on this show. We would have given her the whole hour. We would have given her the entire week, actually, and listened quietly the whole time,” said Carlson. “But she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests, polite requests, not a page. When we kept pressing she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people in positions of authority, they told us Powell has never given them any evidence either, nor did she provide any today at the press conference … she never demonstrated that a single actual vote was moved illegitimately by software from one candidate to another.”

Fox News host Eric Shawn on Sunday took on President Donald Trump’s false claim that Democrats “rigged” the 2020 election.

During an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo earlier on Sunday, Trump had repeatedly said that the election was stolen from him and suggested that the FBI could be “involved” in the plot.

Bartiromo declined to push back against the falsehoods, but Shawn tried to set the record straight several hours later.

“All this despite the fact that his campaign has failed to prove any of this in court,” Shawn said. “In fact, your government, election officials, experts and others — many of the Republican — including Trump appointed officials say that the president’s claims are false and unsubstantiated.”

“The president pronouncements have caused the president’s supporters to doubt the veracity of the election,” he added. “Critics say his claims are unsupported, reckless and incendiary.”

Shawn then dismissed each of Trump’s allegations — from claims about ballot “dumps” to accusations that votes were flipped by Dominion Election Systems voting software.

“It seems that we have a president who, he can’t wrap his brain or mind around the fact, he can’t process that someone who he thinks is so inferior to him won the election,” the Fox News host concluded.
