Multiple Right-Wing Figures Pranked Into Thanking The Devil For Supporting Trump

Several prominent pro-Trump voices have been pranked into thanking “Iblis” — a figure in the Quran typically synonymous with Satan — for supporting the president.

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, Fox News host Tomi Lahren, former Trump aide and right-wing radio host Sebastian Gorka and controversial Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio were among those who fell for the prank, engineered by Ali-Asghar Abedi, a comedy writer and contributor for various media outlets, including PBS, The New York Times and The Independent.

The videos — which were combined into a supercut that features the pundits and politicians thanking “Iblis” for his passionate support of the president and reminding him to make American great again — were filmed via Cameo, an app where celebrities can be paid to record personalized messages for a fee.

Abedi has already used Cameo to trick right-wing figures into saying unlikely things. Other videos on his Twitter feed show him getting the notoriously anti-immigrant Arpaio to quote the famous “Immigrants, we get the job done” line from “Hamilton,” as well as pranking Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes into endorsing Trump using language from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Speaking with HuffPost, Abedi said that he had paid Lewandowski and Lahren both $80 to record the message, and Arpaio $30. Gorka’s fee had been $45, but since Gorka ended up recording the message after the deadline, Abedi ended up paying nothing.

“They’re grifters who are stunningly ignorant and have no curiosity,” Abed said. “I left clues for them. I told them that Iblis was Arab American. If they had a sense of the world beyond MAGA, they’d research what Iblis means in an Arab context. I guess they’re true adherents to capitalism, placing money ahead of their own dignity.”

Abedi did point out that he was “a bit crafty” in the spelling of “Iblis.”

“I spelled it ‘Ebliz’ and laid out the pronunciation as ‘ibb-lease.’ But figured mentioning that Iblis is Arab should have been a cue to vet the request with someone who knows Arabic.”

Notorious Trump confidant and convicted felon Roger Stone had also been on the prank list, Abedi said, but potentially figured out what “Iblis” meant and “never took the bait despite multiple attempts.”

In the case of Lahren, Abedi said the Fox News pundit had learned nothing since August, when he pranked her in a viral video into saying that Trump was wise like an “ullu” — Hindi slang for an idiot or fool.

Democrats face uphill battle in Ga. runoff elections



The fate of the Senate rests on two runoff elections, both of which Democrats will need to win if they want to claim the upper chamber’s majority. On January 5, 2021 they will attempt to flip two Republican Senate seats in Georgia.

With no candidates winning more than 50-percent of the initial vote in the two races, the top two performing candidates of each race will now go head-to-head in two runoff elections. GOP incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler will face Democrat Raphael Warnock, while her fellow Republican incumbent David Perdue will face Democrat Jon Ossof.

“We are standing up for you, but we need you to be our voice,” said Sen. Loeffler. “So please, get involved, chip in, get your friends and family in and vote early.”

On election night, Sen. Perdue was able to come just short of the 50-percent election clinching majority.

“I almost got 50-percent, I already won this race one time,” he stated. “Thank you, we beat them by 2-points.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Loeffler was running in a special election against nearly a dozen other candidates and ultimately came up short in her aim to win the majority with congressman Doug Collins taking a large portion of Republican votes.

Moving forward, one issue facing Democrat leadership is how damaging runoff elections can be for Democrat voter participation. History has shown, particularly in the state of Georgia, runoff elections heavily favor Republican candidates.

Back in 2008, Democrat Jim Martin rode the party’s excitement for then-presidential candidate Barack Obama to secure 48.6-percent of the Georgia vote. As a result, this kept Republican incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss just under the elusive 50-percent threshold. However, Democrat turnout dropped significantly in the runoff election with Martin losing nearly a million votes the following January while Chambliss secured a 15-point victory.

Some expect something similar to occur this time around, following a presidential election riddled with media demonization of President Trump. Critics have said drumming up that Democrat support again could prove very difficult after an election with record-breaking voter turnout.

Lara Trump possible candidate for N.C. Senate, reports say



A Trump administration official is vying for the open North Carolina Senate seat left behind by Republican Sen. Richard Burr, who announced he will not be running for reelection in 2022.

According to reports Thursday, the President’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump is interested in filling the vacancy. His White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, was also rumored to be interested in the seat. However, Meadows stated he has no intentions to run although he loves the people of North Carolina.

Prior to working for the White House, Meadows was a representative for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. He officially resigned to join the Trump administration in March of this year.

Lara campaigned on behalf of President Trump in North Carolina in 2016 and 2020, successfully securing the state for her father-in-law both times. During this election cycle, she rallied in her hometown of Wilmington, gathering hundreds in support of the President.

Former White House official Kellyanne Conway told reporters Lara would be a “formidable” candidate for Senate as she is a “compelling messenger.”

This comes as North Carolina is a hotly contested swing state with Democrats eyeing to flip the state despite President Trump’s most recent win in the battleground this election cycle.

Republicans rally in support of party candidates in Ga., runoffs set for January

As both Senate races in Georgia are headed toward runoffs in January, Republicans are stepping up their efforts to push GOP candidates into office.

The January runoffs will determine which party holds the majority in the Senate, bringing those races into the national spotlight. As a result, a number of outside groups supporting both parties’ candidates have launched major ad buying blitzes in an attempt to sway voters.

The races between Republican incumbent David Purdue and his Democrat challenger John Ossoff as well as Republican incumbent Kelly Loeffler and her Democrat challenger Raphael Warnock have seen a massive spike in campaign funding for the final sprint towards voting day.

Additionally, a number of Republican officials, even those from out of state, are rallying to aid in in-person campaigning. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) have thrown in their support on the campaign trail along with Vice President Mike Pence.

“That’s why Georgia and America need David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler back in a Republican majority in the United States Senate,” stated Pence. “We need the Peach State to defend the Senate and the road to a Republican majority goes straight through Georgia.”

The GOP has made each of the races about preventing the radical left from gaining traction in the upper chamber. The Georgia Republican Party said they are working around the clock to ensure voters understand they have a clear choice between radical liberals or the candidates who will fight for Georgia values.

Meanwhile, voters seem eager to participate in those tight races as the number of requested absentee ballots for the election is breaking records. Georgia officials said there has already been nearly a million requests, marking a notably high voter turnout.

Several Republicans have noted this race is all about turnout and are encouraging voters to cast their ballot on January 5, 2021.
