The federal prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden’s taxes reportedly waited until after the election to seek search warrants, which stalled the public from finding out about the probe.

Delaware’s U.S. Attorney David Weiss began his probe into the president’s son in 2018, but decided last summer to hold off on seeking warrants or issuing grand jury subpoenas in a bid to not alert the public during an election cycle, Politico reported Friday.
"It was a close call," one anonymous person who is familiar with the investigation told the outlet. "That case has way more credibility now."

Weiss is a Republican who was appointed to his position on a permanent basis by former President Donald Trump in 2018 on the recommendation of Delaware’s two Democratic senators.
Trump’s office did not immediately return Fox News’s request for comment on the matter.
Weiss began investigating Biden’s business dealings with China and Ukraine in 2018, as well as possible money laundering. He then turned his attention to whether Biden paid taxes on all of his income, Politico reported.

By the time investigators were ready to issue grand jury subpoenas and search warrants, election season was in full swing and Weiss reportedly feared the public knowing about the investigation and it would become politicized.
Weiss is not quoted in the story and could not immediately be reached for comment by Fox News.

Biden first announced he was under tax investigation in December, after his father was already declared the winner of the 2020 election.
"I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs," Biden said in a statement at the time. "I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors."
His father has also signaled support for Biden during the investigation and has said he will not interfere with the probe.

Well, but unless it dirctly involved mr. Big himself, what Hunter was doing shouldn't have been a topic of the election anyway.

Plenty to talk about mr. Big himself without stooping to despicable tactics.

 

No doubt, that had this been an investigation into one of Trump's children it would have been splashed across every mainstream media outlet.

This is a good example of a Washington insider prosecutor protecting the child of one of the protected class and thus yet another example of one rule for them and another for the rest of us...

The biden administration and the rest of the Democrat party have become little more than a political mafia....

 

Report: Prosecutor withheld Hunter Biden probe details until after presidential election

It’s been reported that the federal prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden’s tax law violations and business deals withheld critical details from the investigation. According to a recent Politico report, Department of Justice officials who were led by the U.S. attorney in the Biden family’s home state of Delaware, actually postponed investigating Biden’s overseas dealings.

Additionally, David Weiss did not release details of the probe to the public until after the presidential election to avoid impacting the race’s outcome. “They advised Weiss to avoid taking any actions that could alert the public to the existence of the case in the middle of a presidential election,” Politico noted.

The report acknowledged the move would have likely boosted President Trump’s campaign. Trump appointed Weiss to the position in 2017 at the recommendation of Delaware’s Democrat senators.

 

Shades of Clinton: Joe Biden used private email to send government information to Hunter

In a communications backdoor reminiscent of Hillary Clinton's infamous private server, President Biden used a personal email account during the Obama years to send information he was getting from the State Department as vice president to his globetrotting, foreign-deal-making son Hunter Biden.

Messages, sometimes signed "Dad," from the email account [email protected] were found on a Hunter Biden laptop seized by the FBI in December 2019 from a Delaware computer shop owner.

Some of the messages from the vice president to his son obtained by Just the News were deeply personal, others were political in nature, and still others clearly addressed business matters, often forwarding information coming from senior officials in the White House, the State Department and other government agencies.

Hunter Biden on a few occasions reached out directly to his father on the private email address to ask for help, the memos from the laptop show. In January 2012, for instance, Hunter Biden forwarded a request to have the vice president prepare a video message for an event honoring Texas Democratic activist Ben Barnes.


"We are working on it," the vice president wrote his son in reply.


On another occasion in June 2014, Hunter Biden suggested someone he wanted to see appointed as a detailee to the Treasury Department. "Before you fill the positions, pls talk to me," Hunter Biden wrote his father.


The vice president responded, "Call me right away, Dad."

Politics, including the potential for Biden to run for president in 2016, were sometimes the subject of emails coming to and from the [email protected] account.

The vice president also flashed some of his trademark self-deprecating humor, once forwarding an astronomy story suggesting a planet be named for him. From his private email, Joe Biden wrote his family, "Only time in history." The subject line was: "Why I deserve more respect."

"The Presidential Records Act required Joe Biden to make sure that any of his gmail account emails, including these emails to Hunter Biden, were forwarded to a government account so they could properly be handled by the National Archives," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch. "No wonder the Obama White House wanted to protect Hillary Clinton from the consequences of [her] email shell game!"

Hunter Biden expected to meet with potential art buyers before anonymous sales


Hunter Biden is expected to meet with prospective buyers at two art shows where his paintings will be on display later this year, according to a spokesperson for the New York gallery retained to sell art made by the president's son.


The shows, a small, private affair in Los Angeles and a larger exhibition in New York City, will give Biden an opportunity to interact with potential buyers of his paintings, which the gallery expects to sell for as much as $500,000.

Hunter Biden's appearance at the shows, where he'll presumably socialize with potential buyers, is seemingly at odds with an agreement struck with the gallery owner that aims to keep buyers' identities secret from Biden, President Biden, the White House, and the public

"Well, I think it would be challenging for an anonymous person who we don't know and Hunter Biden doesn't know to have influence," White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during a recent press briefing. "So that's a protection."

In response to questions about Hunter Biden attending the gallery events with potential buyers, White House spokesman Andrew Bates pointed to a July 8th statement which said, "The president has established the highest ethical standards of any administration in American history, and his family's commitment to rigorous processes like this is a prime example."

Asked Thursday about Biden attending the upcoming art shows with potential buyers, Psaki said, "[Biden]'s not going to have any conversations related to the selling of art. That will be left to the gallerist as was outlined in the agreement that we announced just a few weeks ago."

A CNN panel reacted to Hunter Biden’s plans to meet with potential buyers of his new artwork in New York City and Los Angeles, where his art could be sold for upwards of $500,000, calling it an "ethics problem."

White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended Biden's new venture on Thursday, arguing that because the buyers will remain anonymous, there will be no "undue influence" in the administration.

"I'm not an art critic," CNN's Abby Phillip said on Sunday. "I don't know anything about art, but these people do. One Pulitzer-prize winning art critic says that he thinks that Hunter Biden's art is kind of like a cafe painter. He says, you wouldn't, unless you were related to the artist, spend more than $1,000 on it. But then another art critic, who actually likes Hunter Biden's work also says this, 'Anybody who buys it would be guaranteed instant profit. He's the president's son.'"

"Obviously, this is a problem, an ethical problem, of optics and from a practical perspective," Philip continued. "Why even do this?"
