New salacious details in the Matt Gaetz scandal were revealed in a bombshell new report by The Daily Beast.

"When Rep. Matt Gaetz attended a 2019 GOP fundraiser in Orlando, his date that night was someone he knew well: a paid escort and amateur Instagram model who led a cocaine-fueled party after the event, according to two witnesses. The Florida congressman's one-time wingman, Joel Greenberg, will identify that escort to investigators as one of more than 15 young women Gaetz paid for sex, according to a source familiar with the investigation," The Beast reported.

The woman was identified by The Beast.

"But what distinguishes this woman, Megan Zalonka, is that she turned her relationship with Greenberg into a taxpayer-funded no-show job that earned her an estimated $7,000 to $17,500, according to three sources and corresponding government records obtained by The Daily Beast. On Oct. 26, 2019, Gaetz attended the "Trump Defender Gala" fundraiser as the featured speaker at the Westgate Lake Resort in Orlando. Two witnesses present recalled friends reconvening at Gaetz's hotel room for an after-party, where Zalonka prepared lines of cocaine on the bathroom counter. One of those witnesses distinctly remembers Zalonka pulling the drugs out of her makeup bag, rolling a bill of cash, and joining Gaetz in snorting the cocaine," The Beast reported.

The hotel room was paid for by Gaetz's campaign.

"While The Daily Beast could not confirm that Gaetz and Zalonka had sex that night, two sources said the pair had an ongoing financial relationship in exchange for sex. 'She was just one of the many pieces of arm candy he had,' said one source familiar with the encounters between Gaetz and Zalonka. The congressman—who has declared that he 'never paid for sex' —wrote off the stay at the hotel as a campaign expense, with his donors picking up the tab," The Beast noted.

Many legal pundits are saying that "plural" indicates it might be a while before any indictments come out charging Gaeetz. They say one of DOJ's methods is to get one cooperating witness that will testify against others and then bring some of the other participants in and turn them into cooperating witnesses before they drop the hammer on the biggest targets.

And sex and drugs and even underage minors seems to be a very wide spread practice in Florida politics. Gaetz ran sex games in the Florida legislature and he and Greenberg have a large number of "friends" that appear to have participated.

Which is why they have a huge ax hanging over their heads. One of the charges Greenberg is pleading guilty to is sex trafficking a minor. And from what is in the cooperating agreement it wasn't just Gaetz and Greenberg having sex with her. They sometimes offered her to other men and watched them having sex with her.

 

Treasonous conservative/Republicans are starting to bail on Gaetz. He's at a fund raiser today where several candidates refused to be seen with him. And even the Colorado Kook appears to be a no show.

 

Matt is now claiming sex trafficking a minor is the same thing as earmarks.

 

Matt is facing one of humanity's oldest dilemmas, which is how to hide from someone or something that is searching for you. It's pretty easy to hide when no one is looking, but eluding a predator who has your scent is a very different thing.

Before Greenberg demonstrated his spectacular lack of depth perception, Gaetz was just one of several Trumportunists who saw Trump as a sure ride. Most Congressmen who go to prison, are caught misusing public funds. It's tempting, easy to do, and most of all, easy to prove.

It's just a matter of looking for it.

It's easy to imagine the conference room where Federal prosecutors were looking over the early investigation of Greenberg and how Gaetz came up time and time again. Experience told them, anyone who would get involved with Greenberg's world probably had plenty more going on.

Besides that, anyone who thought handing money to a friend for them to pass to a prostitute, was a way to avoid detection, wouldn't be too much work.

 

Looks like this article is rock solid...sources...witness's...familiar with the investigation...good job there hack fuck.

Gaetz sure isn't acting worried about any of this, hell... he and Marjorie are setting up their next rally date.

 

The old convict rule comes to mind. If you do a crime by yourself you will probably get away with it. But if you do a crime with another person you will probably get caught. And if you do a crime with more than two people you are going to get caught because someone always squeals. And when they start hauling in rich white conservative/Republicans who have always believed laws don't really apply to them the squealing will sound like a slaughter house.

But Gaetz is actually doing us a big favor. He is using the Trump playbook. Deny, deny, deny and go on the offensive to make the prosecutors and the press enemies against freedom. In this case however its not going to work. There are too many witnesses and too much evidence. And when that is all exposed it also exposes the Trump playbook. And that will be very educational for most Americans because they will recognize it the next Trump tries to run his scam.

Scandal-plagued Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) legal headaches keep growing, as his former "wingman" Joel Greeneberg is expected to plead guilty to six criminal offenses, including sex trafficking a minor.

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig on Monday went over some details in Greenberg's plea deal and said it all adds up to very bad news for Gaetz.

Honig started out by explaining that the nature of Greenberg's admitted crimes -- which will also include identity theft and wire fraud -- would normally make him a tough witness for prosecutors to rely on for testimony.

However, Honig said that prosecutors' willingness to use Greenberg leads him to believe that they have substantial documentary evidence that can back up his claims and overcome jurors' doubts about his personal honesty.

"There's a remarkable amount of detail in this document," Honig said. "First of all, sex trafficking of a minor, the lead charge here, the most serious charge. The document alleges that 'Greenberg and the minor met at hotels often with others' -- important language -- 'at which Greenberg and the minor engaged in commercial sex acts and Greenberg introduced the minor to other adult men who engaged in commercial sex acts.'"

Honig then noted that the document also contains references to text messages and phone calls in which Greenberg conversed with the minor about setting up sexual encounters with other adult men.

"The prosecutors are letting us know they have the goods," he said.

An associate of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and other charges after agreeing to cooperate with investigators, and social media users hoped that might spell legal trouble for the lawmaker.

Joel Greenberg entered a guilty plea Monday morning on six charges and agreed to assist prosecutors in other cases, including an investigation against Gaetz -- one of the most polarizing figures in politics.

‘Ominous’ Joel Greenberg plea deal includes 60 pages of evidence about the crimes of others: ex-prosecutor

Speaking on MSNBC this Monday regarding the recent news that Joel Greenberg, a close confidant of Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, has pled guilty to six federal charges, ex-federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner said the 86-page plea agreement given to Greenberg was something he hasn't seen in his career as a prosecutor.

According to Kirschner, a majority of the plea agreement contains "hard corroboration" of the crimes "of not only Joel Greenberg but the crimes of others," adding that the prosecution has laid out "some really troubling crimes."

In a court hearing Monday, Greenberg admitted to a federal judge that he had knowingly solicited and paid a minor for sex.

"I think one of the most ominous features of this plea agreement ... is the last of the six charges Joel Greenberg just pleaded to is a charge for a conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States," Kirschner said. "What does that tell us? Well, of necessity, a conspiracy means you have co-conspirators, because that is a requirement under the law of conspiracy that you agreed with one or more persons to commit crimes against the United States and you took one step towards the commission of those crimes, what we call an 'overt act.'"

"So, we already know by virtue of this plea, there are co-conspirators who are likely to be indicted and held accountable, we just don't quite know who they are," he continued.

An attorney for Joel Greenberg on Monday said that his client's sex trafficking case would be "must-see television" when he was asked about a possible connection to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

Attorney Fritz Scheller made the remarks to reporters after Joel Greenberg, an associate of Gaetz, pleaded guilty to six federal charges.

One reporter asked Scheller if the "other men" mentioned in Greenberg's plea deal includes Gaetz.

"I'm not going to answer that," Scheller replied.

"Do you think Matt Gaetz should be indicted?" another reporter asked.

"I still am not going to answer that," the attorney insisted.

When asked if elected officials would be impacted by the deal, Scheller deflected.

"This is must see television. You'll have to wait and see," he said.

Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz's former wingman, Joel Greenberg, recently struck a plea agreement with prosecutors after being charged with crimes that include sex trafficking a minor. According to VICE News, former prosecutors who reviewed the deal say it's clear that the investigation is headed for Gaetz next.

Greenberg, the former Florida county tax collector, pleaded guilty to six criminal charges on Monday.

"Prosecutors would not make a deal like this unless they had bigger fish to fry, and given public reporting, it's hard to imagine who else Greenberg might be implicating," said former New York prosecutor Rebecca Roiphe. "It's not yet certain, but it sure looks like Gaetz is facing a tough legal road ahead."

As VICE News' Greg Walters points out, the pressure for Greenberg to cooperate is "extraordinary" considering that he likely faces decades in prison. While his plea deal doesn't necessarily mean federal officials plan to indict Gaetz, it does mean "that they are trying to build a case against him, and have now secured a major witness against him," vice dean of Cornell Law School David Ohlin told VICE News.
