U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, under investigation by the Dept. of Justice for the better part of a year for possibly having sex with an underaged teen and for child sex trafficking, went after the DOJ and FBI on Thursday.

In a heated on-air conversation with former Trump advisor Steve Bannon – himself under DOJ investigation for criminal contempt of congress – the pair appeared to threaten democracy.

"People didn't like that Donald Trump raised his voice but sometimes you've got to raise your voice to raise a ruckus and to raise an army of patriots who love this country and will fight for her," Gaetz told Bannon on the former Trump advisor's program. "We're going to operationalize the performance to go right after the people who are imposing the vaccine mandates, who are enriching themselves and who are selling out the country."

"Understand, this is a theory of governing," Bannon declared, calling this attack on democracy, "fresh" and "new. "

"This is Trumpism in power," Bannon blustered. "That's when we went to the 4000 shock troops we have to have that's going to man the government. Get them ready now. Right? We're going to hit the beach with the landing teams and the beachhead teams and all that nomenclature they use when President Trump wins in 2024 -- or before."

Gaetz charged forward, saying, "we're going to go after this administrative state and we're going to start at the Department of Justice and the FBI. That's the job I want. You know, send me over to the Judiciary Committee and their sphincters will tighten because they have been doing a lot of corrupt things over there."

"The FBI and the Dept. of Justice have become the enforcement wing of the Democrat Party," Gaetz claimed.

Wasn't it the FBI/DOJ who used a lie laden dossier from a foreign agent that attacked a presidential candidate to get their wire taps approved?
Even when they knew the dossier was full of lies and bullshit?
Even when they knew it was prepared at the direction of, and with financing from, the opposing political party?
And wasn't it one of the fair haired boys of the FBI who failed to follow protocol in questioning a politician about her alleged destruction of evidence that had been subpoenaed? A "rising star" in the FBI who quite openly and freely declared that "we" (the FBI) would make sure the right candidate won the presidency.
And wasn't it the head of the DOJ who met with the husband of a politician under investigation for violating national security laws on a tarmac in Phoenix the day before the decision to pursue prosecution was to be announced? By the FBI rather than the DOJ? And yes, we know, they only talked about Grand kids and golf. Right.

Seems to Shooter it might be time to give a yank or two on the FBI/DOJ leash.
Doesn't have to be Gaetz. Hell, any half wit could take a look and realize that what we have is a politicized and weaponized law enforcement arm of the Federal Government.

 

So going after Trump is justification enough to militarize our government? You really got some weird ideas.

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday afternoon with host Alex Witt, a former Donald Trump administration official laughed off a proposal from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that he plans to help install Trump as the Speaker of the House should the Republican Party regain control in the 2022 midterms.

According to Shermichael Singleton who was dismissed from HUD in 2017 after it was discovered he had written critically of the now-former president, Gaetz's comments about the influence he has with his caucus are not to be taken seriously by anyone.

"Congressman Matt Gaetz said he's talked to Donald Trump about this scenario making the former president Speaker of the House if Republicans win a majority in 2022. What's your reaction to that? Is that even in the Republicans' best interests? Is it in Donald trump's best interests?" host Witt pressed.



"I mean, first of all, that's not even constitutional because the former president would have to run, be elected as a member of Congress, then be voted by the majority of the party," Singleton replied only to be corrected later by co-panelist Adrienne Elrod who pointed out that membership in the House is not a requirement.

"Donald Trump has no interest in running for Congress. I don't think Donald Trump has any interest in being Speaker of the House -- it's a difficult job, Alex," he continued with a smirk. "You have to understand the various machinations of the House; it's complicated, as we have seen under Democratic and Republican leadership. I think Matthew Gaetz is trying to make some news as he typically does. I am not paying a lot of attention to this. I don't think any person who's a serious student of politics or history should give Matthew Gaetz much credibility on this issue."

Controversial Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) explained on Dinesh D'Souza's podcast how he would remake the House of Representatives if he were elected Speaker following the 2022 midterm elections, which Republicans are widely seen as the likely frontrunners.

Gaetz, who is reportedly under federal investigation for child sex trafficking, called for two major changes to Congress in the interview with D'Souza, who was pardoned by Donald Trump after pleading guilty illegally funneling money to a GOP Senate candidate.

Using the phrase, "if I were Speaker of the House," Gaetz outlined a plan to shift the focus of Congress away from lawmaking and seek to aggressively minimize the power of the minority party.

"Now, there are many Republicans who believe that we're going to be taking the majority, Dinesh, and I want to make sure that we're worthy of the majority," he explained. "And I don't believe that we ought to do a re-run of the John Boehner, Paul Ryan, strategy of just, you know, passing bills that we know Joe Biden will veto, calling it a moral victory."



"So here's my competing, alternative vision: convert every committee into an oversight committee," he said, explaining list of favorite topics on Fox News he would like to see investigated.

Gaetz also described how he would like to make Congress more like the Florida legislature, where he came up under the tutelage of his father, Don Gaetz, who was the power president of the state Senate.

"I think the Republican Speaker of the House ought to take suggestions from Democrats as to who that they would like on committees, but we ought to place all the Democrats on all the committees," he said. "By the way, that's not unprecedented, that's what we do in the state of Florida."

"And so, if I were Speaker of the House, I would be very eager to take Nancy Pelosi's suggestions, but I would give her no power to put even a single of her members on committee without my approval, because that's the way they've treated our members in some cases," he said.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on Thursday used delivered his response to the anniversary of the January 6th Capitol riots in which he spread baseless conspiracy theories about the federal government inciting the rioters.

While speaking with fellow Trump-loving Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Gaetz claimed he was only trying to set the record straight about January 6th.

"Congresswoman Greene and I are not here to celebrate January 6," Gaetz said at the start of his address. "We're not here to obsess about it. But we are here to expose the truth."



Gaetz then echoed false claims made by Fox News host Tucker Carlson about the nature of the deadly riots.

"We know this: January 6th last year wasn’t an insurrection," he said. "No one's been charged with insurrection, no one's been charged with treason. But it may very well have been a Fedsurrection."

In fact, there is no evidence to show that the federal government incited the pro-Trump mob, and hundreds of rioters who have been caught on video committing crimes also have long histories of posting pro-Trump memes, messages, and content on social media platforms.

Appearing on MSNBC's "The Sunday Show" with host Jonathan Capehart, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) didn't hold back when asked about comments made by Rep. Matt Gaetz about the Capitol riot, and advised the Florida Republican to "shut up" about it and worry about being under investigation by law enforcement officials in his home state and the federal government.

After watching a clip of Gaetz appearing on the one-year anniversary of the Jan 6th insurrection with equally controversial Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, host Capehart let the longtime Democrat lawmaker speak her mind.

"Well, you know, the world watched what happened and for them to try and rewrite history and to tell people, 'don't believe your lying eyes' is absolutely outrageous," she began before bringing up accusations that Gaetz may have paid underaged women for sex.



"He had better be concerned about what's happening to him, he had better be concerned about, you know, the fact that he's been investigated and then concerns about him and young girls and on and on and on," she stated. "But absolutely, to get in our faces and talk about they had no intent of hurting anybody when we've got five of our Capitol police who are dead, 150 of them who have been harmed? We absolutely are going to have to resist, we're going to have to fight and we can't let them get away with it."

"I want my party to rise to this occasion and not try and think that somehow we are going to be able to work something out with them," she proposed. "They have defined themselves as liars, people with no integrity and they are intent on protecting [Donald] Trump and they're all afraid of him. They are not representing even their constituents so Gaetz needs to shut up."

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) attempted to rebrand the notorious "Lyin' Ted" nickname Donald Trump bestowed upon Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).

On Tuesday, Cruz grilled Jill Sanborn, the FBI's executive assistant director for the national security branch, about whether the FBI and/or a man named Ray Epps were involved in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Sanborn said she could not answer the question.

Gaetz posted a clip of the interaction to Twitter — with six fire emojis — attempting to rebrand "Lyin' Ted" as "Lion Ted."

Gaetz wasn't the only prominent conservative praising Gaetz, who only days ago was being blasted by conservatives for stating that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was a terrorist attack.



On Sunday, Trump praised those suggesting it was a "fedsurrection," a hashtag Gaetz used for Cruz's speech..

Christina Pushaw, the spokesperson for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), effectively claimed vindication for her boss after Cruz pushed the same conspiracy theory.

Matt Gaetz's ex-girlfriend testifies before grand jury as DOJ is 'moving closer' to indicting him: report

A woman who had a romantic relationship with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has reportedly testified before a grand jury in connection to a sex-trafficking case that has ensnarled the congressman.

NBC reported on Wednesday that Gaetz's ex-girlfriend "gave testimony Wednesday to a federal grand jury investigating him for sex crimes, a major development that suggests the Department of Justice may be moving closer to indicting him."

The woman's name was withheld for her privacy.

The Justice Department is said to be investigating Gaetz for three possible crimes, including sex-trafficking a 17-year-old girl and obstruction of justice.

Gaetz attorney Tim Jansen declined to comment to NBC when he was spotted entering the courthouse on Wednesday.

"According to one source familiar with the case, the alleged sex-trafficking victim had told investigators at one point that Gaetz had had sex with her," the NBC report noted.
