Everyone's life has meaning. When I had to quit work last year I felt that my life was meaningless but I still had my family who stood by me

 

Life means more if your start your day with a healthy breakfast!

Define meaningless what means something to one person may not mean any thing to another. I understand the in the grand scheme of things I am but a spec of carbon in the universe I understand that. But I am a part of the universe the atoms that made all the stars in the sky made me and I think that's cool and pretty meaningful to me. I think Tyson says it better.

Wading though the cesspool, on a directional path that doesn't know where it is going

Full of alcohol, drugs, thieves, con-artist, frauds, and other corporate types
waiting to prey on the unknowing

Meaningless words are meaningless
Life is an experience live it, don't be told about it.

"It (life) is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

I think that's pretty pessimistic, but Macbeth said it after he was told his wife was dead, so he wasn't feeling super positive about things (plus, his nefarious ways were catching up to him).

I stopped thinking about any grandiose 'leaving my mark on the world' while I was still in college. Do what you do, and if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad.

 

Unless of course what makes you happy is at the expense of others.

Life is the only time you have ! Nothing is given to you, beyond your genes ! It's what you make of that time! If all you do is light a pipe of dope and cry, woe is me, racism, crap jobs, and the world owes me, then you are destined for failure !

Get off your ass, and make as much as you can for yourself, but don't be surprised if you fall a little short !

 

I don't care much for the basic tenor of this thread - it strikes me as a bit arrogant and ' smugly superior'.
A positive person might phrase the thread title as "Is your life meaningful?" Not meaningless.

Just tells me a lot about the OP. Instead of initiating a conversation on what makes life good, it puts people (just slightly, perhaps) on the defensive - "NO - here's why my life is not meaningless!"

 

Does my life have meaning? It all depends on the context for lack of a better term. In the greater picture I don’t think human beings play a huge role in the grand scheme of things. We aren’t after all a key stone species like say herring or krill. The universe certainly won’t miss one human. And if the whole human race went mia it would actually benefit the planet. As far as human race is concerned my life has a great deal of meaning. I’ve already left my mark and intend to contribute a great deal more to society before my journey is finally done. I can confidently say that my environment is a product of me and not the other way around.

 

Nope,If your life is meaningless, it is better for us to be dead,It's not a matter of different life conditions or something different...
At least we have to strive for something we love and are truly proud of....
At least when you achieve something you love, you will feel happy
When there is happiness, you will find hope
When you find hope, you will find life

Those of us that are either parents, or teachers, or anyone that plays an important role in the life of a child are helping to influence and shape a future generation. Who knows what great things a child that you have influenced might achieve?

To find out how meaningful you are stop paying your taxes, car, mortgage, alimony etc etc ........

 

The value of life is never meaningless, but nothing good is free, you know, freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose, but it ain't nothing baby if it ain't free. So the true question here is what is meaningless? This ain't math class with the value of X is meaningless. Add it up, mine don't equal yours, so am I wrong?
Let's take it to psychology, if meaningless translates to nothingness, then it is not a question. For something that is nothing, never was. Now if meaningless represents the unknown, well then we have an answer, is your life blackmatter?
Onto astrology, blackmatter being the unknown matter that is unidentifiable in deep space, the answer has to be no, my life is not unidentifiable in deep space.
Now meaningless has a the value, that being the time you will not get back reading this thread.
