Interesting that the only conservative comments have not really addressed Cawthorn's elephant in the room, but are nothing more than an attempt to divert the topic. Thanks @stumbler, you do a great job keeping these things going!

And yet, you can't address his lies about his accident that left him paralyzed. He effectively blamed a friend, but you could give a shit. If he's willing to treat friends like that, then you really expect him to respect anyone else?

That's the whole point of the thread, something you've never addressed, nor will you ever address.

Still can't address the topic (the version of what Cawthorn said happened, and what his friend said happened)? Why would his friend lie? He was only defending himself against the claims of A man he saved who appeared to not be telling the truth based on the facts known! He was never accepted to the naval academy, despite his claims.

When do you face the truth? Cawthorn is a liar. Just like your hero.

And once again the village idiot proves he has earned his title.

Cawthorn'S version and his friends version are not so different. You would know that if you read more than headlines from the likes of wrong story, MSNBC and CNN.

Shooter won't ask for proof of Cawthornes lies, anon lacks the ability to use google.

Oh, what the hell. OI! Anon! Ask one of the other propagandists/trolls if they will help you.

So you claim I'm unable to use Google to back up my claims, but I do find it curious that you would say their stories aren't so different, and not back it up. I guess if you ignore that Cawthorn said he was "left for dead" when his friend said that he pulled Cawthorn out of the car, well then their stories aren't all that different.

Prove to us all how they are not that different.

GOP's Madison Cawthorn skewered in fact-check after he implies mask mandates would drive kids to suicide

    Madison Cawthorn (Screen Grab)
On Wednesday, PolitiFact and WRAL demolished a claim made by Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) at a Johnston County school board meeting while attacking mask mandates.

Specifically, Cawthorn made the claim that a hospital reported a 255 percent spike in suicide deaths among children due to the pandemic, and argued specifically that mask mandates could further traumatize students and exacerbate these figures.

"You can see what the World Health Organization was saying, you know, putting masks on children does have some mental problem — it increases depression," said Cawthorn. "You know, we saw death and suicide rates are up 255% in one study that a hospital did in America because they're starting to see that people are really feeling disconnected from that social interaction."

According to WRAL reporter Paul Specht, Cawthorn got several facts wrong.

"We asked his office that. We said, where are you getting these numbers?" said Specht. "And they sent us a link to an NPR story. And it's titled Child Psychiatrists Warn That The Pandemic May Be Driving Up Kids' Suicide Risk. And it's from back in February. Cawthorn's office pulled out a line and it talked about suicide attempts among young people at one hospital in Indianapolis ... But if you look at the year-to-year numbers — all of 2019 to all of 2020 — the hospital reported a rise that was much lower. In fact, a hospital spokesman told us they saw a 51% increase over the year starting in March 2020 to March 2021."

Furthermore, noted Specht, "we could not find any evidence that those numbers at that hospital in particular were in any way related to mask policies at schools."

Cawthorn has been showing up at school board meetings all across North Carolina to proselytize against mask mandates. In one incident, he visited a Henderson County board meeting, where he attacked Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper and proclaimed, "We will not accept your edicts."

‘Stupidest thing I have ever read’: Madison Cawthorn scorched for wanting cryptocurrency to be ‘the new gold standard’

U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) is getting mocked yet again, this time for suggesting the United States and the rest of the world should tie all our currencies to highly volatile, all-but-totally-unregulated, and environmentally damaging cryptocurrency.

    Rep. Madison Cawthorn
    @RepCawthorn

Why do we not use cryptocurrency as the new gold standard?
    3:19 PM · Sep 30, 2021

He's also apparently unfamiliar with the fact that the United States stopped using the gold standard, first in 1933 under FDR, and ultimately cut all ties to it under President Richard Nixon in 1971.

Doing so would also harm America greatly in other ways. The U.S. dollar is "the world's reserve currency."

It's not going well for Cawthorn.

I am no economist but I thought the whole point of the gold standard was that the value of gold stays relatively stable over time Cryptocurrency is wildly volatile and would be the exact opposite of what you would want Also the gold standard hasn't been a thing since WWII iirc

May he be the youngest ex-representative, too! Is this one of the reasons why homeschooling is ridiculed? I know some very intelligent people who were homeschooled, but Cawthorn? I don't know him, but from his speeches it is obvious he lacks in his knowledge of history. And if the rumors are true about how he treated women when he went off to college, that's just an indicator that manners and etiquette were not subjects taught in his homeschooled curriculum.

It only proves he's got no valid argument to make in defense of Cawthorn, so he does exactly those things he whined the left was doing for the last four years over Trump. Call people names, question their education, and generally avoid talking about the subject...

To be quite clear, Shooter calls the village idiot the village idiot because he has so often proven that he is dumber than a post and as arrogant as a pigeon on a chess board.
If the village idiot ever had a valid or even semi intelligent point to make Shooter would not call the village idiot the village idiot.
So please, village idiot, relish the attention.

GOP's Madison Cawthorn gets thrown for a loop after trying to corner extremism expert

Rep. Madison Cawthorn and Amy Cooter. (CSPAN2)

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) attempted to corner an expert witness during a hearing on violent extremism, but he quickly backed down after she easily parried his attack.

The North Carolina Republican, appearing at the virtual hearing of the U.S. House Committee on Veterans Affairs from a mountaintop vista, angrily denied the armed services had any issues with racism, although he admitted he hadn't served himself despite misleadingly touting his nomination to the Naval Academy.

"I did not serve but know many people who do, and the same sentiment for every single race I speak to is there is a racism in our military," Cawthorn said. "If there is, it's very far and few between. For people say white evangelical Americans who are conservatives and or in our military are racist is disgusting and wrong. Any Christian who is inside a military literally worships a Middle Easterner. To say these people racist is absolutely, wholeheartedly false."

Cawthorn then turned his attention to sociologist Amy Cooter, of Vanderbilt University, and claimed she questioned the establishment of militias in her opening statement.

"I understand she used some special words and things to say, 'No, I'm not against all militias,' but, unfortunately, having a militia is a protected right in our Constitution under the Second Amendment, and I believe it is disgusting to say there is extremism and we need to root out extremists in our military, inside our veterans."

Cawthorn complained that extremism hadn't been properly defined and defended the militias in his own state as patriots -- and then challenged Cooter to clearly state her position on militias.

"There are incredible numbers of militias inside of my district and I'm very proud to say these are people who want to safeguard our liberty if we have a have a tyrannical government that rises up," the lawmaker said. "My friends, I am disgusted and saddened to see with members of congress deriding veterans, you should all be ashamed of yourselves."

"Dr. Cooter, I would like to point a question at you," he added. "Are you anti-militia?"

The professor was ready for his attack.

"Mr. Cawthorn, believe that you actually missed all of our opening statements, and I would encourage you to review the film on that," Cooter said, stifling a laugh, "because if you had heard me you would have heard me say that I've been a gun owner since I was 21, I grew up in the foothills of Appalachia and I have very close personal contacts with militia members across the country. I'm frequently accused of being a militia apologist because I actually try to focus very frequently on how many of them are law-abiding folks. But the focus today is on that extreme element and the potential danger that extreme faction specifically can pose to our veterans and to our country."

Cawthorn seemed to be thrown for a loop by Cooter's response.

"Thank you very much for backing that up," he said, stammering, "and saying you don't think that many members of militias are extremists. I'm glad that you're a gun owner, I'm happy that you have your Second Amendment rights. I did watch your opening statements, I was just saddened to hear that that this entire committee hearing is about finding extremists inside of our veterans."

Madison Cawthorn urged Americans to 'raise monsters' -- a Trump-loyal mom in Michigan obliged

    Michaelangelo Signorile, The Signorile Report
    December 06, 2021

It’s impossible not to make all the connections regarding the terrible school shooting at Oxford High School in Oakland County, Michigan, in which four students were shot and killed by 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley and several others were injured.

This article was originally published at The Signorile Report

The shooter’s parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley, now charged with several counts of involuntary manslaughter and held on $500,000 bond each, bought him the gun that he used, had a very clear idea of what he was going to do — after being warned by school officials about violent drawings he made, and after he was found searching on his phone for ammunition — and they didn’t try to stop him.

They didn’t take out him of school. They let him proceed. And they knew he’d kill.

The Crumbleys are a family deep in the far-right Trumpist movement, radicalized just like the January 6th insurrectionists into a cult of violence. They’re akin to a militia family or a familial terrorist cell, taking cues from what they see in the culture or on social media, inspired by messages from those they view as their leaders.

A clear motive isn’t necessary to deduce from their actions that the Crumbleys are angry and they are trying to intimidate others, enabled by a hate movement that promotes grievance and sees violent actions as a means to an end.

Jennifer Crumbley, who praised Donald Trump and grotesquely bragged on social media about getting her teen son a firearm as a “Christmas present,” appears to have been taking orders from extremist politicians within the Republican Party — the same ones who have defended the January 6th insurrectionists as “political prisoners.”

Those extremists who encourage violence — from gun-toting anti-Muslim Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Lauren Beobert of Colorado to white supremacist sympathizers Reps. Paul Gosar of Arizona and Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina — now control the House GOP. They aren’t punished by leadership for their violence-inciting speeches and actions because leaders like Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy are immensely fearful of them, bowing to Trump, who emboldens these extremists.

After the not guilty verdict two weeks ago in the case of another teen killer, Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin, who killed two people at a Black Lives Matter protest and claimed self-defense, Cawthorn gloated about the verdict, urging his legions to follow Rittenhouse’s lead and to be “armed and dangerous.”

And only a few weeks ago, Cawthorn, speaking at an event, warned about attempts in American culture to “demasculate” boys, and he issued a command: “And I’m telling all you moms here — the people who I said are the most vicious in our movement — if you you are raising a young man, please raise them to be a monster! Raise them to be a freedom-loving patriot.”

It is shameful that these parents indoctrinated their child into this Fox ‘News’ fever dream, putting the blame on immigrants for their problems, while idolizing guns and applauding bad behavior. They must be charged and held accountable.

To end this thread, everyone needs to be clear that this is the GOP strategy. The GOP wants more mothers just like this. Just ask Madison Cawthorn who recently said, “If you are raising a young man, raise them to be a monster!”

To end this thread, everyone needs to be clear that this is the GOP strategy. The GOP wants more mothers just like this. Just ask Madison Cawthorn who recently said, “If you are raising a young man, raise them to be a monster!”

Jennifer Crumbley followed that command, whether she directly saw the video or picked up on it and all the other similar demented messages coming out of the extremist and violent white supremacist movement which is now embraced by the Republican Party. She’d written an open letter to Trump days after the election in November of 2016, praising him, including for his vows to allow more weapons to proliferate in society.

The letter is actually a case study of indoctrination into the Trump cult, particularly chilling because Crumbley describes herself as having been a “pro-choice” feminist and supporter of LGBT rights who “used to be a Democrat” and who struggled with voting for Trump for those reasons. But she gave in. No matter any of her prior beliefs, Crumbley was perfectly primed to get drawn into the Trump cult as Trump tapped into the toxic white grievance that consumed her.

She loved his vow to build “the wall,” she wrote, which would stop “people that come over here from other countries and get free everything,” while she and her husband are “good fucking Americans that cannot get ahead.” (Like many racists, she even announced, "I am not a racist,” in making these statements. )

In the open letter she also lauded Trump for his empty (and now, even more laughable) promises to “shut down Big Pharma” and “make health care affordable for me,” in addition to his promise of “allowing my right to bear arms.” Crumbley ended the letter by showing how deeply she’d been sucked in: “I have NEVER had this much belief in one person, and you are it.”

People like that never turn back. They make excuses for the failures of Dear Leader, and just keeping following on the road to even more extreme, violent actions. By 2021 this woman was buying her son a gun for Christmas and sitting on the sidelines after learning he’d engage in violent actions.

Jennifer and James Crumbley even allowed their son to post a photo of the hideous “gift” to his Instagram account, where he wrote, “Just got my new beauty today. SIG SAUER 9mm. Any questions I will answer.” According to the AP, he included “an emoji of a smiling face with heart eyes.” The next day Jennifer Crumbley posted on social media, apparently from a shooting range, that it’s “mom and son day testing out his new Christmas present.”

When school personnel contacted Jennifer Crumbley by voicemail and email, warning her that Ethan was seen by a teacher searching on his phone for ammunition, she didn’t respond — but she did text her son: “Lol. I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught.”

The next day the Crumbleys were called to the school after a teacher saw a drawing and notes Ethan made, including a drawing of a handgun and the words: “The thoughts won’t stop. Help me.” The parents refused to take him out of school and decided to just go back to work. Of course they could surmise what he was planning. And hours later, not surprisingly, Ethan went on a shooting rampage.

Just like many of the January 6th insurrectionists — equally drawn into the cult of violence that is Trumpism — the Crumbley parents went on the run, cowards refusing to face the consequences of their recklessness. After their son was arrested and after the Oakland County prosecutor announced they’d be charged on counts of involuntary manslaughter, the Crumbleys became fugitives, attempting to hide out until they were apprehended over the weekend in Detroit (and they’ve shown “no remorse,” according to the Oakland County sheriff).

These people were ready to let their son rot in prison — the son they enabled to engage in mass murder — while playing out their own little insurrection.

All the while, the Crumbleys were likely proud they’d raised a monster, just as they’d been told to do by the white supremacist terrorist movement that has been embraced by the GOP.

Well, you see, stumbler cannot help but blame trump/conservatives for what happens. Hes been blaming trump/conservatives for so long, for so much, that its impossible for him to stop now.

And anon is stumblers troll buddy. See, stumbler will post some wrong story propaganda thingy and then someone comments and instead of stumbler responding and defending his propaganda, he sends in a troll. You know, like anon. Now anon, he doesn't try to defend, no sir! His job is to stir shit, like in this case making some silly accusation that usually isn't even relevant.

The idea is to suck the unwary into some dumb assed meaningless argument about some bullshit.

That way, see, stumbler never has to actually account for what hes posted.

Well but of course, no rules, laws or the Constitution apply to treasonous conservative/Republicans.

Madison Cawthorn invited a GOP candidate on the House floor in apparent violation of rules

    Madison Cawthorn (Screen Grab)

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) appears to have violated congressional rules by inviting a Republican candidate onto the U.S. House floor.

Republican lawmakers were surprised to see House candidate Robby Starbuck, of Tennessee, on the floor during votes Tuesday evening, and they told The Hill's Scott Wong the GOP hopeful had been invited there by Cawthorn.

Some GOP lawmakers were very surprised to see House candidate @RobbyStarbuck (R-Tenn.) on the House floor during votes last night. They say he was the guest of @RepCawthorn (R-NC).
    10:30 AM · Dec 8, 2021

"For a candidate for Congress to walk around on the floor and talk to people, I found it to be very bizarre," one GOP lawmaker said, adding it was "without a doubt" a violation of House rules unless the Sergeant at Arms gave him permission.

According to House rules, only current and former members are allowed to step onto the floor, and sometimes staffers who are managing time.

Starbuck posted a photo of himself hours earlier with Cawthorn and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) at the U.S. Capitol.

One of his favorite dishonest scams it to not back most of what he says with any sources and/or proof and then occasionally post links that don't say what he says they do. But either way his method of operation is to never address what is actually being said always trying to distract and deflect instead. Because he cannot face the truth.

Just a case of "what about ism"! Apparently there is a rule about no food, drink, or smoking on the floor of the house. But one wrong doesn't forgive another. Is it a matter of which is worse? I'm sure that shooter will say that cracking a beer is far worse, but only because it's a democrat.

I will raise him another one. This one an actual violation of federal law not House rules.

Madison Cawthorn may have broken the law during meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago: report

A flier that North Carolina GOP Congressman Madison Cawthorn shared with former president Donald Trump and others during a meeting at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday appears to violate House ethics rules.

"The document, titled 'Congressman Cawthorn's Plan for North Carolina,' contains a map of North Carolina's newly approved congressional districts," Raleigh-Durham's WTVD Channel 11 reported Wednesday. "The map also contains the names and pictures of the candidates Cawthorn envisions running for 11 of 14 districts, all of which are forecasted to be either landslide victories for Republicans or in just one case, a highly competitive race."

During the meeting, Trump "brokered a deal" to clear the North Carolina Republican Senate field for GOP Rep. Ted Budd, his endorsed candidate, according to Politico. The former president agreed to endorse former GOP Rep. Mark Walker, who is currently in third place in the Senate primary, if Walker leaves the race and runs again for the House instead.

"This is the flier Rep. Madison Cawthorn passed out at the meeting with Trump, Mark Walker, Bo Hines and David McIntosh (Club for Growth) on Saturday," Natalie Allison wrote on Twitter, above an image of flier.

According to WTVD, "a source close to the North Carolina GOP confirmed the validity of the map, which features the official seal of Cawthorn, his official photograph, and the official portraits of incumbent candidates, including Rep. Dan Bishop, Rep. Virginia Foxx, Rep. Richard Hudson, Rep. Patrick McHenry, Rep. Greg Murphy and Rep. David Rouzer."

The station reports that while official congressional portraits are in the public domain, House ethics rules prohibit their use in political or campaign materials.

"The use of the congressman's seal might be the most serious issue with the document, however, as the manual states 'a provision of the federal criminal code, 18 U.S.C. 713, prohibits the use of certain governmental seals on, among other things, stationery, for the purpose of conveying ... a false impression of sponsorship or approval by the Government of the United States or by any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof,'" the station reported. "It's unclear at this time whether there has been a complaint filed related to this document."

In related news, Cawthorn likely violated House rules when he brought a GOP congressional candidate onto the House floor on Tuesday night, according to the Hill.

"Cawthorn was able to do so by telling House security that his guest, Tennessee Republican Robby Starbuck, was one of his House staffers, according to a source familiar with the situation," the site reported.
