Crimes Spread South to Los Angeles as at Least 20 Suspects Attack Nordstrom



Los Angeles police say at least 20 people attempted to break into a Nordstrom store at the Grove shopping center on Monday night. A high-speed chase ensued with police following at least four vehicles.

Police said a storefront window was smashed in with a sledgehammer that was left at the scene.

KNBC reported the chase ended at 98th Street and Hoover Street in South Los Angeles. Three suspects were taken into custody, police said on Tuesday morning.

WBRZ reported that the event follows looting in the San Francisco area and in Illinois in recent days:

About 80 suspects were involved in what police are calling a “smash-and-grab” incident Saturday night at a Nordstrom location in Walnut Creek, near San Francisco. Looters fled the store in at least 10 different vehicles, Lt. Ryan Hibbs at the Walnut Creek Police Department told CNN and three suspects were arrested.

Targeted retailers during Friday’s burglaries included a Louis Vuitton store, a Burberry store, a jewelry store, a Bloomingdale’s, a Walgreens, multiple cannabis dispensaries, and an eyeglass shop, San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said at a news conference Saturday.

Yet another smash and grab burglary occurred in Illinois last week. On Wednesday, at least 14 people forced their way into a Louis Vuitton store in Illinois’ Oak Brook, area and stole at least $100,000 in merchandise, according to the Oak Brook Police Department.

“Surveillance video from the store showed the chaotic scene as the masked shoplifters made their way into the store and grabbed as much merchandise as they could while shoppers hurried to get out of their way,” the WBRZ report says.

10 Antifa members charged for attacks on California pro-Trump protesters: 'Criminal acts'
California anti-fascists face charges such as assault, conspiracy to commit a riot and illegal use of tear gas




Prosecutors in San Diego filed charges against at least 10 anti-fascist protesters who allegedly tried to disrupt a pro-Trump rally earlier this year with "violent criminal acts."

"Video evidence analysis shows that overwhelmingly the violence in this incident was perpetrated by the Antifa affiliates and was not a mutual fray with both sides crossing out of lawful First Amendment expression into riot and violence," District Attorney Summer Stephan’s office said in a news release, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The defendants "are self-identified to be affiliated with Anti-fascists or Antifa" and gathered on Jan. 9 in San Diego to take "direct action" against a pro-Trump "Patriot March," according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. "Direct action" is defined as "acts of violence such as assault, battery, assault with deadly weapons, arson, and vandalism," according to the DA’s office. Police declared an unlawful assembly the day of the clashes.

At least seven people were arraigned Monday, following raids in Southern California last Thursday that led to arrests of the suspects.

They face charges such as assault, conspiracy to commit a riot and illegal use of tear gas. They’re accused of using tear gas, sticks, flag poles and other items to attack the Trump supporters, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The case is allegedly the first to use conspiracy charges against suspected Antifa members, the outlet reported.

One social media post appearing to match the description of the attacks shows an alleged anti-fascist protester pepper-spraying a man and his dog. A videographer based out of Los Angeles also recorded some altercations involving pepper spray and a wooden folding chair, which matches an attack described by prosecutors.

Supporters of then-President Trump held flags and signs at the rally with slogans such as "Stop The Steal" and "Trump 2020."



One group of the anti-fascists originated in San Diego, while another group formed in Los Angeles a week before the pro-Trump rally, according to the criminal complaint. They’re accused of circulating a Jan. 2 social media post calling for a counterprotest to the pro-Trump rally, "in essence agreeing to take part in the ‘direct action.’ Others agreed by showing up in Pacific Beach on January 9th, 2021 and participating in the violence," prosecutors allege, according to the criminal complaint.


Those arraigned on Monday were identified as Luis Francisco Mora, 30; Joseph Austin Gaskins, 21; Faraz Martin Talab, 27; Bryan Rivera, 21; Brian Lightfoot, 25; and Jesse Merel Cannon, 31; Jeremy Jonathan White, 39.

An arrest warrant was issued for Erich Louis Yach, 37, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Portland’s police department has warned residents of the woke but crime-ravaged Oregon city to expect delays in cops answering all but the most serious 911 calls.

On Monday, Portland Police were only responding to priority 1 and priority 2 calls – codes that refer to incidents that are life-threatening or with a potential for physical injury, as well as major property crimes.

It came in the wake of a busy day for cops in the city, which included two carjackings, one of which ended with police shooting an armed suspect dead.

Responses to any crime-in-progress that didn’t pose an immediate threat to persons or property were ‘delayed,’ the department tweeted. Ongoing staff shortages were also blamed for the slump in emergency services provision.

The ominous announcement came as the city of roses hit an all-time high in homicides. The 80 murder milestone reached on Friday far surpasses Portland’s record of 67, attained in 1987, and is likely to rise before 2021 comes to an end in 24 days.

That number has been ramping steadily – in 2020, 53 homicides were reported. In 2019, there were 29, and in 2018 there were 25.

As of October, there were 1,126 shootings throughout the city this year – in 2020 there were 792 and the year before there were 355, according to the Portland Police Department.

Due to critical incidents happening today and PPB’s staffing shortage, officers are responding to Priority 1 and 2 calls only right now and response times may be delayed for certain calls.

Meanwhile, 55 officers retired and another 29 left the department, leaving 835 sworn members on the force amid nationwide calls to defund police that were heard especially loud in Portland last year.

The city is famed as America’s most woke, and is renowned as a hotbed of Antifa activists, who regularly protest and riot in the dilapidated streets of downtown Portland.

And guess what else? The guy appointed to run this ground breaking program is Delbert McFadden! Who, you ask, is Delbert McFadden? Why, he was appointed to a city post in 2017, cause, democratic organizer, so you know, payback.

But Washington isn't the only city rolling out this new program. No SIR!
Louisville, Kentucky., Rochester, New York, Indianapolis Indiana and Stockton, California have all announced expansions or new violence interrupter programs.

Shooter just has to ask, cause, you know, scamp, but did the Washington folks hire any proud boys? Since, you know, they were the ones who looted and attacked the capitol, or was that not considered politically proper? But hey, betcha them antifa fellows have been offered a six figure job to not do what they been doing, eh?

House Democrat Mary Gay Scanlon Carjacked at Gunpoint in Philadelphia



Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) was carjacked at gunpoint in Philadelphia and was left unharmed on Wednesday, her office said in a statement.

Philadelphia Police said the incident occurred at 2:45 P.M. EST on the 1900 block of Pattison Avenue in FDR Park following a tour which included fellow Congress members.


Scanlon was walking to her parked vehicle and was approached by two men driving a dark-colored SUV. Both men, who were armed, demanded the keys to her vehicle, police say. They took off with her blue 2017 Acura MDX with license plate LKG-8893. It was last seen being driven westbound on Pattison toward Penrose.

“She thanks the Philadelphia Police Department for their swift response, and appreciates the efforts of both the Sergeant at Arms in D.C. and her local police department for coordinating with Philly PD to ensure her continued safety,” Lauren Cox, a spokesperson for Scanlon, said in a statement.

Scanlon, represents Pennsylvania’s 5th Congressional District, which includes a part of Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney (D) said of the carjacking: “It’s disheartening, and quite frankly infuriating, that criminals feel emboldened to commit such a reckless crime in the middle of the day in what should be a place of tranquility and peace-one of Philadelphia’s beautiful parks. My thoughts are with her during what I’m sure is a traumatic time.”

In November, Philadelphia reached the grim figure of 501 homicides for the year, surpassing its annual homicide record of 500 set in 1990.

“Quite simply, our community members are drowning, and we do not have life preservers to go around,” Councilwoman Kenyatta Johnson said of the city’s homicide epidemic. “This is a crisis of epic proportions. It is a moral crisis.”

 

Man arrested for alleged kidnapping, sex with minor, Gascon's office recommended $0 bail: California police

A 21-year-old homeless man was arrested in Los Angeles County this week on charges of kidnapping and having sex with a minor, according to police.

Simon Lopez was arrested Monday afternoon in a residential neighborhood of Canoga Park, Glendale police said in a press release.

Lopez’s arrest stemmed from a reported confrontation between a minor and an adult male earlier this month in Glendale, police said. Investigators learned that the male was seen physically assaulting the minor before fleeing the area in a vehicle.

When reached for comment, a spokesman for Gascón’s office appeared to contest the Glendale police, telling Fox News its prosecutor did not recommend $0 bail and that a judge ultimately set bail at $100,000.

The "Zero-Dollar" policy was implemented to reduce crowding in county jails during the COVID-19 pandemic and applies to misdemeanors and lower-level felonies.

Justice reform advocates have long argued that low-income and minority communities are disproportionately affected by cash bail. Earlier this year, the California Supreme Court eliminated cash bail for defendants who can’t afford to pay it – essentially requiring that poor defendants be freed unless they are deemed too dangerous to be released awaiting trial.

The court’s decision came despite California voters’ November 2020 rejection of a proposed end to the state’s cash bail system.

The "zero bail" policy has since come under scrutiny amid an increase in crime, most notably with a series of brazen smash-and-grab robberies at high-end retail stores. Gascón's progressive policies, too, have made him the target of multiple recall attempts.

Jeff Clayton, Executive Director of the American Bail Coalition, slammed Gascón in a statement to Fox News saying that if the D.A. had his way, "Simon Lopez and many, many others would be out on the street to re-terrorize their victims."

"It is important to note that Lopez is a transient, who also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest," Clayton said. "This would lead any reasonable person to conclude that he was a severe flight risk and danger to the community. But apparently not to DA Gascón. According to his standards, Lopez is innocent and free to go."

At Least 18 Shot Christmas Eve into Sunday Morning in Lightfoot’s Chicago



At least 18 people were shot, one of them fatally, Christmas Eve into Sunday morning in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.

NBC 5 noted the one fatality occurred Christmas Day “in the 3000 block of North Avers” when a 24-year-old was shot and killed.

Police received calls reporting the shooting at 10:37 p.m. and arrived to find the victim deceased with a head wound.

Chicago registered its 800th homicide of the year on December 14. Two days later, on October 16, WBEZ pointed out that Chicago’s homicides had surpassed 810 for the year.

Chicago, like all of Illinois, has a 72-hour waiting period on gun purchases, a red flag law, and a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card requirement for all would-be gun owners. The process for getting a FOID card includes going through a background check.

Additionally, Cook County, the county in which Chicago sits, has an “assault weapons” ban.

 

Oregon man who told Biden 'Let's go, Brandon' on call says it was 'innocent jest'

An Oregon man who finished a livestreamed Christmas Eve call with President Joe Biden by using the coded insult "Let's go, Brandon" said he did not mean to "disrespect" the president.

Jared Schmeck, 35, told The Oregonian the quip – a conservative rallying cry that means "(expletive) Joe Biden" – came out of frustration over how the president is running the country.

“At the end of the day, I have nothing against Mr. Biden, but I am frustrated because I think he can be doing a better job,” Schmeck told The Oregonian. “I mean no disrespect to him.”

Caller to Biden: Merry Christmas, and let's go, Brandon

The phrase originated in October, when fans at a NASCAR race in Alabama chanted "(expletive) Joe Biden," but a TV reporter said they were yelling, "Let's go, Brandon" for the winning driver, Brandon Brown.

Since then, the phrase has gone viral. Biden's opponents splash it across social media, fly it on flags and plaster it on bumper stickers.

Schmeck said he didn't expect the call to be livestreamed and he was told first lady Jill Biden would take calls on the NORAD Santa tracker hotline.

"I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas as well, Merry Christmas, and let's go Brandon," Schmeck said.


The president answered: "Let's go, Brandon, I agree" before the call was cut off. The episode generated headlines and quite a social backlash.

Schmeck worked for six years as a police officer in Medford, Ore., and now works as an electrician, the newspaper said.

He told a reporter the remark was supposed to be a joke but he has since received some threatening phone calls."I am being attacked for utilizing my freedom of speech,” he said during a Christmas Day interview.

 

150+ Killed by Suspects on Bond in Harris County, TX




A report by Houston’s FOX26 claims over 150 people have been killed by suspects whom Democrat judges have released on bond in Harris County, Texas.

Moreover, FOX26 points out that a number of the suspects doing the killing were charged with “capital murder,” described as “the most egregious offense in the criminal code.”


They note “no fewer than 113 defendants charged with capital murder have been inexplicably granted bond and released back onto our streets pending trial.”

KHOU-11 found the same trend when they looked at “407 capital murder charges filed in Harris County between September 2016 and September 2021.” They discovered that “records show 113 or 28 percent” of those suspects were released on bond.

An example of the violence perpetrated by the freed suspects was seen in the slaying of 71-year-old Martha Medina. She “was robbed of her purse, then run over and killed in September outside a McDonald’s in northeast Houston.”

The suspect in the killing is Andrew Rehernard Williams. He was “out on the street after making bond on a previous capital murder charge.”

Houston Police Sergeant Larry Gibson expressed concern over the bond release for the suspects, saying, “It’s very concerning, it’s concerning for everybody involved…Guys out on capital murder bonds, they just don’t have the fear. So they’re like, ‘I’m out on this. If I get caught, well, I’m already on bond for murder, what do I have to lose?'”

 

‘Blood On Her Hands’: Chicago 911 Dispatcher Slams Mayor Lori Lightfoot Over Skyrocketing Murder Rate




A Chicago 911 dispatcher slammed Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot over the skyrocketing crime rate in the Windy City, saying that she has “blood on her hands.”

“All hell has broken loose,” dispatcher Keith A. Thornton, Jr. told Fox News on Tuesday.


“In my opinion and fact, the blood is on her hands,” Thornton said.

“This is not a black problem, a white problem, a Democratic problem, a Republican problem, a Latino problem, this is an all-hands-on-deck problem and everyone within Chicago should be fueled up—and that’s why I’m taking a stand,” he added.

“Every child and every youth and adult and elderly person that is shot, killed, pulled out of their vehicle because of carjackings with AK-47s, that is on her hands,” he said.

Thornton initially came to the nation’s attention after sharing a Facebook video post making similar accusations against the mayor and calling Chicago a “death zone.”

“When you say ‘Chicago,’ people are afraid,” Thornton exclaimed.


Thornton is not just a random dispatcher suddenly jumping to national renown.

The employee of the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications, a Chicago native, was lavished with praise for his heroics during the shooting of Chicago Police officer Ella French in August. Thornton was praised for his calm and commanding presence on the air as he directed resources as the Chicago Police Department rushed to respond to the shooting that took an officer’s life.

 

The news that chicago is a "death zone" is not new or surprising. It is a long standing and well documented issue.

What is surprising is that the residents of Chicago have not risen up and dealt with the problem. Apparently that tough to the core mid states independence has been smothered.
