Nicolle Wallace: '95 percent of the American people will agree with Biden while 95 percent of the press won’t'

President Joe Biden addressed Americans on Monday afternoon to express his regret and frustration over the violence and desperation being seen out of Afghanistan. However, Biden made it clear that he does not apologize for drawing down troops and leaving the country.

"I am President of the United States of America. and the buck stops with me. I'm deeply saddened by the facts we now face. But I do not regret my decision to end America's warfighting in Afghanistan," said Biden.

When addressing the comments, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, who worked for President George W. Bush when Americans first went into Afghanistan in 2001, said that the country will agree with Biden.

"I'm going to say two things, both hard to say," she prefaced. "But I'll say them anyway because here they are: 95 percent of the American people will agree with everything he just said. Ninety-five percent of the press covering this White House will disagree. And for an American president to finally be completely aligned with such an overwhelming majority of what the American people think about Afghanistan is probably a tremendous relief to the American people."

Former Obama deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes noted that Biden has been against sending more troops into Afghanistan since the "surge" in 2009.

"He had concluded at that point that there were diminishing returns in what we could accomplish militarily in Afghanistan," said Rhodes. "And I think also throughout the Obama years we saw successes in the counterterrorism side of the mission's most notably the removal of Osama bin Laden, but we saw the continued grinding problem of a persistent Taliban threat, of corruption in the Afghan government, and the lack of a formula that could coalesce a stable centralized government. And I think what he's saying, and I think he made a very strong and powerful case for it, is that staying for one year or five years was not going to achieve that goal of building a cohesive nation in which the Taliban no longer posed a threat. And so he wasn't going to spend any more time on it."

He went on to say that this is the Biden he saw during the Obama administration.

"This is someone saying 'I'm going to draw a clear line, this war may not have ended like any of us wanted it to, it may have exposed the overreach in American foreign policy, it may have exposed the ways in which we have consistently misjudged our capacity to engineer events in other countries, but I'm comfortable being the one who takes the heat because I believe it's in our better interests to stop this here,'" Rhodes closed.

Wallace said that Biden is willing to retaliate if the Taliban attacks any Americans as we're leaving but that everything Americans worked towards was essentially ignored by Afghans.

"This White House may not have come to this with a forthright explanation of how quickly the Taliban would take over the country, but this president came to this speech with a very forthright explanation of why that was," Wallace continued. He suggested that President Ashraf Ghani engage in diplomacy. He did not. He suggested that President Ashraf Ghani engage in, you know, the kinds of ways that you build a state that is trusted and responsive to its people. They did not. So, if they were surprised, which is what that sound bite made it sound like they were, he said in July this will look nothing like our, you know, escape basically from Saigon, and when it did this White House was caught flat-footed."

She also said that she would tell Republicans on television arguing to stay in Afghanistan that wasn't even an option not for Biden and certainly not for former President Donald Trump who said his drawdown would happen by May.

CIA analyst bashes MSNBC for supporting Biden's Afghanistan speech: 'I was appalled'
'I feel like I watched a different speech than the rest of you guys'

Former CIA analyst and MSNBC guest Matt Zeller criticized President Joe Biden’s speech on the ongoing Afghanistan crisis amid praise for it from the liberal network's hosts.

Biden addressed the nation from the White House on Monday over the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan after Biden's troop withdrawal. Zeller appeared with hosts Brian Williams and Nicolle Wallace on "Deadline: White House" to discuss the speech at length.

Williams complimented Biden’s speech, claiming "he didn’t run" from his responsibility to the Afghan people.

"He didn't run from it. He owned it. He owned the fact that, as he put it, the buck stops with him," Williams said.

"I hope he gets to own their deaths too," Zeller fired back.

Zeller spent most of his appearance criticizing Biden’s speech, as well as the administration’s actions in withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

"I feel like I watched a different speech than the rest of you guys. I was appalled. There was such a profound bold-faced lie in that speech. The idea we planned for every contingency? I have been personally trying to tell this administration since it took office. I have been trying to tell our government for years this was coming. We sent them plan after plan on how to evacuate these people. Nobody listened to us," Zeller said.

Zeller also slammed the administration for not having adequate plans to evacuate the thousands of Afghan citizens looking to escape Taliban rule.

Wallace previously complimented Biden’s speech saying "95% of the American people will agree with everything [President Biden] just said. 95% of the press covering this White House will disagree."

"For an American president to finally be aligned with what such an overwhelming majority of Americans think about Afghanistan is probably a tremendous relief to the American people," Wallace continued.

Wallace also appeared to defend the speech against Zeller, remarking how "6,000 troops is not adequate to do what you just described, which is still hopefully the mission of the administration."

"We made these people a promise. The Taliban are now actively killing them, and if we don't take them they're going to die. That's the thing is we have the means to do this. We have just simply lacked this entire time the conviction to do the right thing," Zeller said.

    [IMG]Video
Zeller also acknowledged his own guilt in leaving citizens behind for the Taliban, stating he’ll "never forgive" his country for doing so.

"I can't forgive myself and I'll never forgive my country for doing this. I know exactly what every Vietnam veteran has been warning me about now. I'm going to live with the moral injury for the rest of my life," Zeller said.

Biden has faced intense criticism for his handling of the Afghanistan debacle. Following his address to the nation, he promptly returned to Camp David without taking press questions.

OAN Loses Appeal Against Maddow, Must Pay MSNBC at Least $250,000
    Justin Baragona
    Tue, August 17, 2021, 11:32 AM·3 min read

    Theo Wargo
Fringe right-wing network One America News lost the appeal of its defamation suit against MSNBC and star host Rachel Maddow on Tuesday, with a panel upholding a previous federal court ruling against OAN that required them to pay $250,000 of the defendants’ legal fees.

OAN, owned by Herring Networks, initially sued Maddow for $10 million in July 2019 after the MSNBC star said on her show that the Trump-boosting network is “paid Russian propaganda,” calling her remarks “malicious and utterly false.”

Maddow’s comments, however, were based on a Daily Beast story detailing how OAN employs Kristian Rouz, a reporter who simultaneously worked for Kremlin-owned media outlet Sputnik, a well-known purveyor of Russian-backed propaganda. MSNBC’s lawyers, meanwhile, argued Maddow’s remarks were “protected opinion based on disclosed facts,” adding that her commentary “specifically noted” the OAN reporter was paid by Sputnik.

In May 2020, a judge threw out OAN’s defamation suit, with U.S. District Judge Cynthia Bashant ruling that there was no set of facts that could support a claim for defamation based on Maddow's statement. The judge also noted that OAN never alleged that the facts in the Daily Beast story are defamatory and didn’t dispute any of the underlying facts, which Maddow presented on her program.

After MSNBC and Maddow later asked for the right-wing channel to pay $350,000 in legal fees, the court permanently dismissed the case this past February and awarded MSNBC and Maddow a total of $247,667.50.

At the time of the February ruling, however, OAN president Charles Herring still expressed confidence that he would win on appeal, saying that he was “pleased that the [legal] fees were reduced” by the court.

“The case is currently under appeal and we’re highly confident that we’ll receive a favorable and just ruling in the US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit,” he added. Herring’s appeal was also based on the district court ruling in favor of Maddow’s anti-SLAPP motion against OAN.

Not only was that not the case on Tuesday, but OAN may actually have to pay more in legal fees due to dragging out the process in court.

In a detailed ruling picking apart all of the Herring Network’s legal arguments, the federal appellate court affirmed the district court’s judgment to strike OAN’s complaint pursuant to California’s anti-SLAPP statutes and dismiss the channel’s defamation suit with prejudice.

“Turning to the merits, the panel held that Maddow’s statement was well within the bounds of what qualified as protected speech under the First Amendment,” the court’s ruling stated. “The challenged statement was an obvious exaggeration, cushioned with an undisputed news story. The statement could not reasonably be understood to imply as an assertion of objective fact, and therefore, did not amount to defamation.”

The panel further added that “the district court did not abuse its discretion in dismissing the complaint without leave to amend because Herring never asked to amend, and if it had, amendment would have been futile.”

This is not the only bad legal news OAN has received in recent days. Dominion Voting Systems recently filed a $1.3 billion defamation suit, alleging the network has purposely peddled false claims that the company’s voting machines rigged the election against Donald Trump. The network has recently doubled down on pushing election fraud conspiracies, promoting and giving uninterrupted live coverage to the “cyber symposium” hosted by MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell—who is also being sued by Dominion.

OAN did not immediately respond to a request for comment. MSNBC declined when reached by The Daily Beast.

Rachel Maddow Will Stay At MSNBC After Signing Multi-Year Agreement

Maddow mocks Mo Brooks getting booed by hometown crowd: 'Surprise – I thought Frankenstein would love his creation'

    Sarah K. Burris
    August 23, 2021

At the top of Rachel Maddow's show Monday, the host cited the recent report that the House committee investigating Jan. 6 would potentially be subpoenaing the phone records and social media records from certain members of Congress.

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) was among those who spoke at the rally ahead of the attack and encouraged the audience to "start taking down names and kicking ass." But when he spoke to an Alabama audience this weekend and encouraged them to give up on the 2020 election and start focusing on 2022 and 2024, it didn't go over well.

"That was this weekend, hometown crowd lustily booing — booing the heck out of Alabama Republican Congressman Mo Brooks for him having the gall to suggest that, yeah, the election was stolen, and really, Trump won and Biden didn't win, but they should move on from that and work on the next election where incidentally he's hoping to be on the ballot for United States Senate," said Maddow. "That crowd was absolutely not having it. And you can tell in that footage, Congressman Brooks seems to be shocked by the reaction. Surprise! Yeah, I thought Frankenstein would love his creation as well!"

She noted that since the rally, Brooks has changed his position again, tweeting out that he didn't really mean that people should give up on 2020.

"In the wake of that just screaming rejection from his own base voters on that point, Mo Brooks has since flipped again," Maddow continued. "Now insisting in an online statement, 'Let me be clear, the 2020 election was fraught with voter fraud and election theft on a massive scale. Trump won the election. I support audits of state 2020 election results. I eagerly await their findings.' Trying to go back to that way of dealing with the issue. The man knows what side his bread is buttered on."

'Here's the secret that every West Virginian knows': Activist blows the whistle on Joe Manchin in MSNBC interview

    Tom Boggioni

Senator Joe Manchin (D_WV), DoD photo by Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Adrian Cadiz

Appearing on MSNBC's "The Sunday Show" with host Jonathan Capehart, the co-chair of WV Can't Wait dropped the hammer on Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) for blocking a desperately needed stimulus bill that would provide welcome relief to his constituents.

With host Capehart quoting the senator from an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal where he wrote, "I have always said if I can't explain it, I can't vote for it and I can't explain why my Democratic colleagues are rushing to spend $3.5 trillion.," Stephen Smith opened fire on his senator.

"Look, here's the secret that every West Virginian knows: Joe Manchin, the rest our congressional delegation, they do not represent the working people of West Virginia," he accused. "They never have, they never will. That's because, up until now, you don't win high office in West Virginia because you serve the people; you win high office in West Virginia because you serve Exxon, because you serve out-of-state landowners, bankers and corporate lawyers."

"That's who he's checking in with," he continued. "The only language they understand is power, and so the only hope we have on the ground of persuading these establishment politicians is to threaten to replace them. And so that's what we're doing. The threat must be credible, permanent, fearless, and most important, homegrown."

MSNBC anchor proves there is such a thing as bad publicity as ratings tank

The old saying goes there is no such thing as bad publicity, but that truism doesn’t apply to MSNBC host Joy Reid, who has made media news on a regular basis with bizarre remarks and insensitive rhetoric without accompanying ratings success.

"The ReidOut" is having its worst quarter ever, even as its far-left host has generated headlines for attacking conservatives, flip-flopping on the COVID vaccine, and using the chaotic troop withdrawal from Afghanistan to take a shot at the United States, while defending President Joe Biden at every turn.

"Joy Reid is the perfect encapsulation of how partisanship can harden into pure hatred in one's heart for each and every human being who doesn't think and vote the same way. It's almost demonic in the way she speaks about the tens of millions of Americans who lean right and engages in both a cartoonist and dangerous level of incitement," NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News Digital.

Joy Reid has generated headlines with hateful rhetoric and bizarre remarks.

"As someone who covers her show, it's an exercise in how not to treat people," Houck added. "Not only do advertisers and MSNBC executives continue to support her in droves, Comcast has made clear that they don't have a problem with any of this rhetoric."

While Reid has proven she can say whatever is on her mind without landing in hot water with MSNBC, her over-the-top style has not attracted viewers.

"The ReidOut" is on pace for its least-watched quarter ever among both total viewers and the key demographic of adults age 25-54. In September, "The ReidOut" is down a staggering 56% among total viewers since January and shed 71% of its demo viewers over the same time period.

The far-left program is currently in the middle of its lowest-rated month of the year among the demo, averaging only 137,000 nightly viewers among the category coveted by advertisers. Reid’s only month with a smaller audience among total viewers than her dismal September turnout was last month, when she averaged only 1.1 million viewers in August.

In recent days, Reid has dismissed coverage of Gabby Petito as "missing White woman syndrome," pushed a misleading claim that Border Patrol agents used whips to curtail Haitian migrants, admitted she was hesitant to take the COVID vaccine when former President Trump was in office but changed her position under President Biden, and even got caught up in a public spat with Nicki Minaj after the rapper expressed hesitancy over the vaccine herself.

Reid also became the focus of intense criticism last week over a peculiar rant that Republicans loved coronavirus, wanted it pumping through their veins, and that they were a "creepy little COVID-loving death cult."

Reid, who has become known for pushing conspiracy theories and making racially disparaging remarks, was lampooned this week for declaring Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va., and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., could lose their seats in the 2022 midterm elections, since Manchin and Sinema are Senators who aren't up for re-election until 2024.

Some joked that Reid must have been hacked, a callback to her infamous claim that homophobic slurs on her pre-fame blog were planted by hackers. The MSNBC host eventually admitted that it was unlikely hackers were responsible, but claimed she didn’t remember writing the hateful comments despite apologizing anyway.

Despite the embarrassing hacking ordeal, MSNBC promoted Reid from a weekend timeslot to the coveted 7 p.m. ET window that was vacated when Chris Matthews abruptly left the network in 2020.

Houck feels Reid’s recent comments are simply the latest examples of MSNBC and Comcast turning a blind eye to her issues.

"Not knowing how many years a Senator serves? Fine by them! Saying over 70 million people love COVID and want to drink it like Kool-Aid so they can kill as many people as possible? They see no problem with that statement," Houck said. "Saying Joe Manchin loves the filibuster and thus Jim Crow more than America? Good with them. It's a dangerous road Comcast is going down, but again, they don't care."

While Houck feels she is dangerous, columnist Jason Whitlock thinks Reid is simply a sellout who will parrot anything "the left tells her to be down with" as long as her paychecks continue to clear and she is accepted by liberal influencers.

"She done sold out for money and now she’s down with any and everything the left tells her to be down with … People need to do what makes sense for them. We need to get up out of each other’s business," Whitlock recently said on his podcast. "Joy Reid needs to shut up because she ain’t saying what she really believes. We seen the blog posts and all the stuff from her past, what she really believes."

MSNBC didn't respond to a request for comment.

'Empty shells of pathetic losers': Nicolle Wallace burns Texas GOP for caving to Trump's 'audit' demands

    Bob Brigham
    September 28, 2021

    Screengrab.

MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace on Tuesday had blistering criticism of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for indulging Donald Trump's delusions of election fraud by conducting an Arizona-style audit.

"We're learning again today just how low Republicans will go to satiate the twice-impeached, disgraced ex-president's appetite for what, something? Rewriting the 2020 election," Wallace said. "Politico is reporting on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's response to that letter that Trump sent demanding Abbott pursue an audit of the presidential election results in Texas in 2020 despite the fact that he won."

"This is some sick bleep," Wallace said. "I mean, they're like hostages with guns to their head. Trump tells them to take his pants off, is he going to do it? What is going on with these weak, pathetic leaders whose salaries are paid by taxpayers?"

"Well, it is self-hostage taking here," conservative journalist Charlie Sykes replied. "What is interesting, this occurs after we have the face-plant be in Arizona, where the Cyber Ninja audit failed to overturn the election, which normally would have been an embarrassment if facts mattered, if shame mattered."

Wallace, who was a top GOP communications strategist before her career in broadcast journalism, had harsh words for Texas Republicans.

"This isn't about Donald Trump, this is about shells of men. This is about empty shells of pathetic losers who have nothing to do except run looking — I mean, Trump can't even tweet, so I don't even know how they track it. They're like at the fax machine looking for the latest missive from the exiled leader," Wallace said.

Just to recap Nicolle Wallace was a member of the GW Bush administration who was ordered to preserve all communications including emails for the 9/11 investigation. She knows what true Americans are supposed to do and why Trump and conservative/Republicans are nothing but traitors for choosing party over the country.

Furious Nicolle Wallace profanely calls out Steve Scalise for helping Trump spread election lies

    Sarah K. Burris
    October 11, 2021

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace was furious at Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) after his appearance Sunday on Fox News, in which he dodged saying he believed the "big lie."

Wallace, who used to be a Republican who worked for former President George W. Bush, has fled the GOP and has been growing angrier about their commitment to former President Donald Trump.

At the top of her show Monday, Wallace called something BS, but then she took it a step further. She called out Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who was eager to stand next to Trump while he was in Iowa, but at the same time is denouncing Trumpism in statements.

"Millions of Americans have been sold a fraud — that the election was stolen," said Wallace. "Republicans have a duty to tell the American people that this is not true. Perpetuating the big lie is an attack on the core of our constitutional republic. It was punctuated over the weekend when more Republican leaders, guys like Senator Chuck Grassley, playing to Donald Trump at a rally of thousands. Standing right there, close by his side. Embracing him and his message."

She showed then showed video of Scalise and she made it clear that she believes he knows Trump's election fraud claims are all a lie. Wallace also said that Republicans are willing to talk about the election being fraudulent when it comes to the presidential race, but when it extends to their races and their seats, they're silent.

"It is all happening. Here's how you know it is B.S. Here's how you know Steve Scalise knows it's all bullsh*t," Wallace continued. "He could call on them to resign. Because if those states were messed up, then they're not real congressmen, are they? Why don't the Republicans have the courage of their convictions to go all the way?"

She closed the segment saying, "Trump is the spark but the Republicans are the oxygen. There is no slide to autocracy."

Rittenhouse judge bans MSNBC from courthouse as jury continues deliberations
Jurors in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial have resumed deliberations Thursday.

MSNBC claims staffer ‘never intended to contact’ Rittenhouse jurors, contradicting judge
NBC News said Thursday that a freelancer “never intended to contact” the Rittenhouse jurors, but did not deny that he may have been following the jury van on Wednesday evening.

"Last night, a freelancer received a traffic citation. While the traffic violation took place near the jury van, the freelancer never contacted or intended to contact the jurors during deliberations, and never photographed or intended to photograph them. We regret the incident and will fully cooperate with the authorities on any investigation," an NBC spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Judge Bruce Schroeder said Thursday morning that the freelancer, was following the jury van from about a block away at the direction of an MSNBC booking producer when he ran a red light and was pulled over.

"He was ticketed for violating a traffic control signal, he’s not here today from what I’m told and I have instructed that no one from MSNBC News will be permitted in this building for the duration of this trial,” the judge said.

"This is a very serious matter and I don’t know what the ultimate truth of it is but, absolutely, it would go without much thinking that someone who is following the jury bus, that is an extremely serious matter and will be referred to the proper authorities for further action.”

Chris Christie went on Nicolle Wallace’s MSNBC show -- it didn’t go well for him

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on This Week (ABC screen grab)

Chris Christie is on what some are calling a rehabilitation tour. The combative Republican former governor of New Jersey is hawking his new book, "Republican Rescue" on all the major news networks, trying to position himself as an alternative to Donald Trump as he anoints himself the savior of the Republican Party.

Christie, who left office with a dismal 14 percent approval rating despite (or because of) having others in his way to distance himself from Bridgegate, somehow having escaped any legal ramifications over his management of Hurricane Sandy funds, and after trying to slough off Beachgate, for a short time tried to be less "Christie"-like. But that softer persona disappeared this week, especially late Tuesday afternoon when he stepped on the set of MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" and sat down with host Nicolle Wallace.

It did not go well for him.

Here's basically how it ended, with Wallace – a former Republican – stringing him up using his own words, saying: "You may or may not support Donald Trump in 2024. You may or may not run for president. And [your] book about liars and conspiracy theorists doesn't have anything to say about Fox News."

Here's what led up to that dénouement:

"You know the book is called – it's about conspiracies and lies and you really don't take on Fox News, why not?" Wallace asks.

She pounds him further on Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Christie says he doesn't watch the right wing cable giant's top show and "I don't pay a lot of attention" to him.

Moments later, Wallace again pounds Christie, telling him, "I don't think it's an intellectually honest case to make against conspiracy theories without taking on Fox News."

In typical Christie fashion he claps back, "Well, I, listen, then you can write that in your book."

Not having it, Wallace retorts, "Well, I'm not trying to rescue the Republican Party."

Seconds later, she presses him again on Fox News.

"I guess my question is you want to run for president, what's your relationship with Fox News going to be?"

"Well first of all, I didn't say I want to run for president. You said that. So let's be clear about that," Christie said, challenging Wallace.

"Well a lot of people have said that in the last few days – you haven't corrected any of them," she noted.

Wallace again goes back to Fox News.

"Do you think that Fox News in primetime is good for the country or bad?"

Christie basically refused to give a straight answer, knowing that if he wants to run for president he will need their support.

"Listen there are shows that I like in Fox News and shows that I don't like."

"You're afraid to question the purveyors of conspiracy theories and lies?"

"But that's your opinion," Christie insisted, despite the fact that Fox News is a purveyor of conspiracy theories and lies. "You're welcome to your opinion like everybody else in this country is welcome to your opinion. I don't consider people like Sean Hannity, or Laura Ingram, purveyors."

'What liars!' Morning Joe busts GOP apologists after Jan 6 rioter admits he brought a gun to kill Nancy Pelosi

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough blasted Republicans who downplayed the violent threat from the Jan. 6 insurrectionists after new proof emerged of their violent intentions.

Mark Mazza, a 56-year-old Indiana man charged with carrying a loaded firearm to the U.S. Capitol riot, suggested to investigators that he intended to kill House speaker Nancy Pelosi during the chaos, and the "Morning Joe" host unloaded on GOP lawmakers who have insisted those Donald Trump supporters were merely protesters or even tourists.

"We have another person who was there with a gun proving what liars those Republican apologists are, saying they looked like a bunch of tourists," Scarborough said. "This criminal defendant, said he went to Jan. 6 with a gun if he had found Nancy Pelosi, they'd be talking to him about something else completely different."

"This whole idea that people were going after Mike Pence and saying, 'Hang Mike Pence,' that it was, like, a football cheer or something or people screaming, 'Nancy, where are you, Nancy' -- no, it's very clear this was not a group of tourists," Scarborough added. "There were people inside this group that were mobs, rioters who wanted to find and kill Nancy Pelosi and wanted to find and kill the sitting vice president of the United States."

Dig deep on this "one guy" get back to us with results, off the wall nutjob or a ghost. Either way proves nothing one way or the other. The truth is being hidden, there is videos by the thousands, security and private, the undisputed story can easily be told. The who is behind it, is simple, the government. The government being both democrates and republicans. The facts are and have been, both parties are responsable for dividing the people. They continue to intentfully do so.

If anyone can not see there is a serious threat to this country, their not paying attention. Those that do, are being lead down a path of blame, which only allows this threat to continue. Give that some thought, then rethink, blame is not the end game.
