Jen Psaki Sinks to a New Low in Defense of Mark Milley
    By Bonchie | Sep 15, 2021 3:45 PM ET

Earlier today, Gen. Mark Milley provided an on-the-record denial that he pledged to commit treason with the Chinese in order to undermine then President Donald Trump. Well, he sort of provided an on-the-record denial. In reality, he essentially confirmed he did what he did while offering a slew of meaningless qualifiers to make it look as if he were acting in a righteous manner.

Now, the White House is getting involved. Jen Psaki was asked about the situation today, and her answer truly represents a new low, though, I doubt this is the bottom.

    Here’s what she said.
    https://twitter.com/Breaking911/sta...o-a-new-low-in-defense-of-mark-milley-n443474

There’s so much wrong here that it’s hard to know where to begin, but let’s start with the idea that Milley was secretly talking to the Chinese, without the president’s knowledge, in order to stop an unlawful action. What unlawful action would that be? It’s very convenient that no one has provided an ounce of evidence that Trump gave such an order or that any such order was even possible.

Further, how does calling up a Chinese general stop an unlawful action from occurring back in the United States? Again, there’s no explanation given that makes any real sense. If the goal was to “stop Trump,” then you stop him by actually confronting him and refusing to carry out the illegal order. You don’t go behind the president’s back to tell the Chinese that when the order comes, you’ll warn them about it. If the goal is to stop the order, you do something that will actually stop the order.

That didn’t happen, though. Instead, it seems clear to me that Milley was delusional, hopped up on a false sense of grandeur, believing that only he could save the nation from the threat of Donald Trump. Yet, even assuming Trump was volatile, that does not justify how Milley behaved. There is no provision for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to conduct his own foreign policy and collude with political leaders to operate as a military dictator. That is the biggest violation of the constitutional order in well over a century.

Past that, let’s deal with the assertion from Psaki that Milley was justified in acting outside the chain of command because he was stopping an “insurrection” being “implemented” by Trump. The administration’s own FBI has found no evidence of any insurrection plot involving January 6th. That includes a lack of evidence that Trump himself was trying to foment such. Yet, Psaki just pointedly lies here by describing a situation that didn’t exist, using it to defend a literal pledge to commit treason by Milley.

Psaki also pushed the idea that none of this is an issue because Biden would never foment insurrection. That may be true, but it’s irrelevant to the issue at hand. Our government is supposed to operate within the guardrails of rules that can not be broken. The White House seems to be suggesting that violations of the constitutional order are fine as long as they are done for a righteous reason. But who defines what is righteous? What’s being suggested here is insane, and goes far beyond just being a slippery slope. Rather, it’s a cliff that some are gladly jumping off of.

There’s been a lot of crazy things to come out of the Biden administration, but today I truly feel like we are living in the twilight zone. We have the White House defending a military junta under a false guise of necessity. We have truly crossed a dangerous line as a nation, and what’s on the other side is anyone’s guess.

Jen Psaki schools Doocy on immigration: 'Let me explain to you again, Peter, how our process works'

    Fox News/screen grab

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday fielded questions about Covid vaccinations at the U.S. border from Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy.

During a White House press briefing, Doocy demanded to know whether migrants who were crossing into the country illegally were being asked "for proof of Covid vaccination or negative Covid test."

"That's the policy for people who fly into the country," Doocy interrupted as Psaki tried to answer. "So why if somebody walks into the country right across the river, does somebody ask them to see their vaccination card?"

"Let me explain to you again, Peter, how our process works," Psaki replied. "As individuals come across the border and they are both assessed for whether they have any symptoms. If they have symptoms, the intention is for them to be quarantined. That is our process."

"But they're here," Doocy pleaded. "What's the difference?"

"It's not the same thing," Psaki explained. "These are individuals -- as we've noted and has been discussed -- we are expelling individuals based on Title 42 because of Covid, because we want to prevent a scenario where large numbers of people are gathering, posing a threat to the community and also to the migrants themselves."

"So those are the policies that we've put in place," she added, "because the CDC continues to recommend Title 42 be in place, given we're facing a global pandemic."

Psaki's Response Is Bad When Asked About the Mistake of Drone Killing Children
By Nick Arama | Sep 20, 2021 6:00 PM ET

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was back at the podium today after ducking out on Friday, avoiding answering on a manifold of crises for Joe Biden and the administration.

Psaki was asked about the admission on Friday by the U.S. CENTCOM that the drone strike in Kabul that they had previously claimed took out an ISIS member coming to attack the airport in fact didn’t take out any ISIS people — that it just killed 10 innocent people, mostly from one family, with seven children being killed.

Psaki’s response? That he knows what loss is like because he’s personally suffered loss and “overseen it.”
    https://twitter.com/CurtisHouck/sta...the-mistake-of-drone-killing-children-n445617

Yes, Biden has suffered a lot of loss. But he and Psaki keep pulling it out whenever he gets into trouble and they use it as an emotional shield to try to blunt any criticism and questions. That’s just wrong and quite frankly an offensive use of the deaths of his children. We’ve all experienced loss. It’s not an excuse for incompetent action that got 13 Americans and more than 170 Afghans killed. It’s not an excuse for drone striking a family on very thin-reed evidence. Maybe you could show you actually care about the people killed by concentrating on them and not deflecting with this move?

If it was really a tragedy to Biden, he wouldn’t have gone off to the beach after being informed, he would have stayed in town and apologized for it. He couldn’t be bothered, leaving the military to take the heat for it.

    https://twitter.com/JerryDunleavy/s...the-mistake-of-drone-killing-children-n445617

Then Fox’s Peter Doocy pointed to the continuing potential problem here: the “intelligence” that this was supposedly based on and on which they claim they will depend in the future. How much is that “over the horizon” capacity — which the Biden team including Psaki bragged about — worth now with the acknowledgement of how wrong this strike was?

    https://twitter.com/TPostMillennial...the-mistake-of-drone-killing-children-n445617

Psaki then claimed that this strike and the prior drone strike which they claim took out two ISIS-K people were “self-defense strikes,” not “over the horizon” strikes — despite the fact that she and the Biden Administration had called them “over the horizon” and evidence of that capability. So she’s just completely changing the facts from how the strikes were previously described.

Why? Because once again this shows how incompetent they were and completely throws that claim under the bus. Plus they still haven’t provided support for the first drone strike against “ISIS-K” being “successful.” They wouldn’t even provide the names of the alleged “high-level” people. That’s how you know something is wrong there, as well.

Is anyone going to be held accountable for this tragic mistake? Nope, it’s the Biden Administration, where no one is responsible for anything.

Jen Psaki taken aback after CBS anchor criticizes 'very bad behavior' by US: 'We don't see it that way'
WH spox also addresses China relationship: 'China is a competitor, but it's not a country we want to have conflict with'

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was taken aback Tuesday after CBS anchor Gayle King criticized recent "very bad behavior" by the U.S. internationally.

King noted on "CBS Mornings" that "there's a lot of incoming" at the White House these days, given a recent spate of negative headlines at home and abroad for the Biden administration. After Psaki previewed President Joe Biden's Tuesday address before the United Nations General Assembly as forward-looking, King added that Biden couldn't "ignore what has happened before."

"We’re still getting hammered for how the withdrawal from Afghanistan happened," King said. "Everybody knows, many people believe it was time. It’s just the way that it was done … That’s not a good look. You look at what’s happening with immigration. You look at France now saying that they’ve been betrayed by the United States. So I get that we have to look forward. But what are we doing to justify or explain what appears to be very bad behavior on our part?"

"We don't see it that way," Psaki said, before saying the dust-up with France concerned Australia desiring the superior nuclear submarine technology of the United States. "They're displeased about that, but we have a long-abiding friendship with them that's going to endure."

While King noted the overall Afghanistan withdrawal, she didn't specifically mention the recent botched U.S. drone strike that killed 10 civilians and no ISIS-K terrorists. Biden has called for a full investigation into the tragic accident.

Psaki was pressed on the "dysfunctional" U.S. relationship with China, as described by United Nations Secretary General António Guterres, a term the spokeswoman also denied.

"We do see the relationship through the prism of competition. China is a competitor, but it's not a country we want to have conflict with," Psaki said.

CBS joined much of the rest of the media in expressing concern over new border photos of agents on horseback pursuing Haitian migrants. Psaki said the images were "horrific" and many outlets characterized the border agents as using "whips," but the department told Fox News Digital they were simply using horse reins and weren't authorized to use that kind of force.

Psaki Gives Outrageous Excuse for Biden Staff Screaming at Reporters
By Nick Arama | Sep 22, 2021 6:00 PM ET

As we previously reported, Joe Biden met with U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday at the White House to talk about trade and other issues.

Johnson decided to take some questions from British reporters. But, as he was wrapping up, Biden staffers interrupted him mid-sentence. They started screaming at all the reporters to get out and pushed them all out of the room.

    https://twitter.com/Breaking911/sta...or-biden-staff-screaming-at-reporters-n446688

Now, they have been doing this a lot, but this was so rude and so vehement, it finally even infuriated the White House reporters themselves, who have been constantly run over by the Biden Administration. The White House press pool finally registered a formal complaint with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. She, of course, blew it off like it was nothing and claimed that Biden takes questions several times a week when the truth is that his people are always trying to keep him from taking them and he hasn’t, in fact, taken any questions in days.

So today, during her press briefing, reporters pressed Psaki on the issue, saying they were cut off when they tried to ask Biden questions. It’s a common and continuing occurrence. Her response? It was Boris Johnson’s fault — he never should have answered anyone’s questions.

    https://twitter.com/Breaking911/sta...or-biden-staff-screaming-at-reporters-n446688

“He called on individuals from his press corps without alerting us to that intention in advance,” Psaki huffed. She tried to make it into a joke saying the relationship with Great Britain was “so strong and abiding” essentially they could let his action slide.

Seriously? This is your excuse? So now Johnson has to check with you before he takes questions from reporters?

How does this make it better? It just means you wanted him to go along with you not answering any questions at all and if you could have, you’d have shut him down, too. Talk about fascistic. It still doesn’t obviate the fact you’re trying to avoid having Biden answer questions.

So the first question the White House reporters need to ask Biden if they have any integrity at all is “Who is dictating to you not to answer questions and why are you going along with it?” Then prepare for the angry response, because you know that will be coming next. They also need to keep repeating this question to Psaki: “Who is dictating to the president not to answer questions?”

It’s an incredible state of affairs when the alleged leader of the free world isn’t allowed [by someone] to answer questions from reporters.

What does anybody expect - they just want to avoid as much explosive scrutiny (the kind that actually makes it onto the TVs of average, non-political citizens) as they can, while they try to inch their totalitarian agenda down the field.

'Do you think pregnant women pose a big threat?' Jen Psaki mocks Peter Doocy's latest claim

    en Psaki (Screen Shot)

On Thursday, Fox News' White House reporter Peter Doocy ran into the Jen Psaki brick wall during the daily press briefing.

Doocy asked the White House about the situation at the border where a slew of migrants continue to be desperately trying to enter the U.S. According to Psaki, those migrants aren't being allowed into the country. Doocy disagreed.

"We're being told by our people on the ground that you're releasing pretty much all family units," said Doocy. "Couples where the woman says that she is pregnant, or single women who say that they are pregnant and that no one has to actually take a pregnancy test unless they want to, so....."

"Are you suggesting that you don't believe when women say they're pregnant?" asked Psaki. "Is that a big issue? We think at the border?"

"I'm not in charge of keeping the border secure," Doocy shot back.

"Do you think pregnant women are posing a big threat to the border?" Psaki repeated her question. "To the border communities — is that a big issue?"

    "You tell me," said Doocy.

"I'm not aware of pregnant women being a big issue of concern to people at the border," said Psaki. "What I will note for you, Peter, is that, as I said earlier, there is a process. If people cannot be expelled under Title 42 for a range of reasons. Some of that is that countries they came from or other countries, including Mexico, may not be accepting families with children under the age of seven. They are placed in removal proceedings. Those removal proceedings require them to either go to a detention facility or require them to go get a notice to appear and including their biometric data and otherwise so that we can ensure where they are."

Fox has been hitting the Biden administration for allowing too many people into the U.S., but the left is attacking Biden for not allowing any refugees into the country from Haiti and for continuing to deport people by the thousands.

See the video of the exchange between Doocy and Psaki below:

White House Does Not Know if Joe Biden Has Ever Visited Southern Border

The White House admitted Wednesday they did not know if President Joe Biden had ever visited the Southern border to demonstrate his commitment to border security.

“I will have to look back in my history books and check the times he’s been to the Southern border,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in response to a question from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy during the daily White House briefing.

It remains unclear whether Biden has ever been to the Southern border, as he spent most of his political career as a U.S. senator representing Delaware.

Psaki reminded reporters that Biden worked as vice president in the Obama administration to reduce “root causes” of immigration, but she was unaware if he ever visited the border.

“I can check and see when the last time or when he may have been,” Psaki replied

Before he was president, Biden voiced support for border security.

In 2006, Biden boasted in a South Carolina speech that he was in support of a border fence.

“Folks, I voted for a fence, I voted, unlike most Democrats – and some of you won’t like it – I voted for 700 miles of fence,” Biden said during a speech in South Carolina

Biden went on to say that unless the political system in Mexico changed and businesses were punished for hiring illegals, a 40-foot high fence was merely “window dressing.”

“Now, I know I’m not supposed to say it that bluntly, but they’re the facts, they’re the facts,” he said.

Psaki acknowledges Biden lied, spending carries a cost, says wealthy to 'pay more' to cover expense
Biden faced criticism after he shared a tweet claiming that his Build Back Better plan 'costs zero dollars.'

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged Tuesday that President Joe Biden's Build Back Better agenda will carry a cost, saying the White House is asking top earners in America to "pay more" to cover the costs of it.

In a question from a reporter, Psaki was asked whether the Biden Administration would "acknowledge the broader truth that it does cost somebody? Right?"

"There's a clear difference to what we're talking about as it relates to taxpayer funds or funding that would lead to our debt, right, which I know a lot of Republicans are supposedly concerned about" Psaki said. "Fifty of the top companies last year in 2020 paid not a dollar in taxes. A lot of high-income individuals pay lower tax rates than nurses and teachers. No one thinks that's fair. Yes, we're asking them to pay more. Yes, it will cost them more."

Biden faced criticism from analysts and lawmakers over the weekend after he shared a tweet claiming that his Build Back Better plan "costs zero dollars."

"My Build Back Better Agenda costs zero dollars," Biden's account tweeted. "Instead of wasting money on tax breaks, loopholes, and tax evasion for big corporations and the wealthy, we can make a once-in-a-generation investment in working America. And it adds zero dollars to the national debt."

Republicans have ripped Build Back Better, which includes a $3.5 trillion spending package, as a massive bill that "ultimately provides benefits to wealthy liberal elites at the expense of working-class families."

Moderate Democrats, like Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., have also raised concerns about the package, the latter noting the bill lacks cost analysis by the Congressional Budget Office.

"I don’t think we can afford everything," Murphy said. "Unless something changes, I have no choice but to vote no on every subtitle [n the bill] and on final passage."

Psaki claims military advisers were 'split' on troops in Afghanistan, despite Milley testimony
White House press secretary adds that the commander in chief 'makes those decisions'

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said military advisers were "split" on whether to maintain a presence of U.S. troops in Afghanistan, despite testimony from top officials Tuesday who were consistent in their recommendations to keep at least 2,500 troops in the region.

Psaki, during the White House press briefing, fielded questions from reporters after Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and head of U.S. Central Command Gen. Kenneth McKenzie testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that they recommended the United States maintain a presence of at least 2,500 U.S. service members in Afghanistan.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin went on to testify: "Their input was received by the president and considered by the president for sure."

Biden and White House officials have said repeatedly that no military leaders advised him to leave a small military presence behind, with the president, himself, telling ABC News in August that "no one" recommended a 2,500 troop presence that he could "recall."

Psaki, referring back to the transcript of the ABC News interview, quoted George Stephanopoulos' question about whether military advisers wanted him to keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan.

"No they didn't. It was split. That wasn't true. It was split," Psaki said, quoting from the president's response to Stephanopoulos.

Biden was asked again about whether advisers recommended maintaining a 2,500 troop presence.

Psaki, again reading Biden's response from the transcript, said: "No, no one said that to me that I can recall."

"There was a range of viewpoints, as was evidenced by their testimony, presented to the president and presented to his national security team, as would be expected, as he asked for – he asked for a clear-eyed – he asked them not to sugar coat it – what their recommendations were," Psaki said.

Psaki went on to say that it "was also clear and clear to him" that maintaining 2,500 troops "would not be a long-standing recommendation," as it would require there to be "an escalation and increase in troops" – something, Psaki said, the president was "not willing" to do.

Psaki maintained that had the president decided to listen to advisers' recommendations, the U.S., later "would have had to increase the number of troops, would have been at war with the Taliban, we would have more U.S. casualties."

"There are some who felt we should have still done that," she said. "That is not the decision the president made. It is up to the commander in chief who makes those decisions."

When pressed again on the conversations, Psaki said they "don't happen in black and white or like you're in the middle of a movie."

"These conversations are about a range of options, about what the risk assessments are about every decision, and, of course, there are individuals who come forward with a range of recommendations on what the path forward looks like," Psaki said, noting she would not go into "detail" of the private conversations advisers had with the president.

"Ultimately, regardless of the advice, it is his decision," Psaki said. "He is the commander in chief. He is the president. He makes the decisions about what is in the national interest, and he believed we should end the war."

Psaki, again, stressed that the president "made clear the advice was split."

"I think the American people should know the president is always going to welcome a range of advice, he asked for candor and directness… he is not looking for a bunch of yes men and women," Psaki said. "Ultimately, he is going to have to make the decision about what is in best interest of the United States."

She added: "If there is conflicting advice given, by necessity, some people's advice will not be taken."

Psaki's comments come after McKenzie testified that he recommended a presence of 2,500 troops remain in Afghanistan. McKenzie said he made a similar recommendation in the fall of 2020 under the Trump administration, which also had intentions to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan, saying, at the time, he recommended the U.S. maintain at least 4,000 troops.

"I also have a view that the withdrawal of those forces would lead inevitably to the collapse of the Afghan military forces and eventually the Afghan government," McKenzie testified.

Milley was also pressed on the matter, saying that while he would not share his "personal" recommendations made to the president, his assessment was, "back in the fall of 2020, and remained consistent throughout, that we should keep a steady state of 2,500 and it could bounce up to 3,500, maybe, something like that, in order to move toward a negotiated solution."

Meanwhile, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., pressed Milley on why he has not resigned, after Biden ignored his recommendations.

"Senator, as a senior military officer, resigning is a really serious thing – it's a political act – if I'm resigning in protest," Milley said. "My job is to provide advice – my statutory responsibility is to provide legal advice or best military advice to the president, and that's my legal requirement. That's what the law is."

Milley added that the president "doesn't have to agree with the advice," and said he "doesn't have to make those decisions just because we're generals."

"It would be an incredible act of political defiance for a commissioned officer to just resign because my advice is not taken," Milley said. "This country doesn't want generals figuring out what orders we are going to accept and do or not. That's not our job."

He added, on a personal note, that "my dad didn't get a choice to resign at Iwo Jima, and those kids at Abbey Gate don't get a choice to resign."

"I'm not going to turn my back – they can't resign," Milley said. "So I'm not going to resign. There's no way."

"If the orders are illegal, we're in a different place," Milley said. "But if the orders are legal from civilian authority, I intend to carry them out."

Austin, Milley and McKenzie's testimony comes nearly a month after the Biden administration, on Aug. 31, withdrew all U.S. military assets from the region after having a presence there for 20 years following the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. An Aug. 26 suicide bombing took the lives of 13 U.S. service members – including 11 Marines, one Navy sailor and one Army soldier. Eighteen other U.S. service members were wounded. The bombing also left more than 150 civilians dead.

As the Biden administration began the withdrawal of military assets, provincial capitals across Afghanistan began to fall to the Taliban. By mid-August, the Taliban attained control of two-thirds of Afghanistan. And by the time the U.S. withdrew all U.S. troops from the country on Aug. 31, Kabul had also fallen to the Taliban. In mid-August, U.S. intelligence assessments projected the capital city could fall to the Taliban within 90 days.

The withdrawal concluded on Aug. 31, with the U.S. evacuating more than 124,000 individuals – including 6,000 Americans.

But administration officials admitted to leaving more than 100 American citizens behind. Administration officials, though, said their mission in Afghanistan had shifted from a military mission to a diplomatic one, with some saying they were working with the Taliban to ensure safe passage for those Americans and U.S. visa holders, as well as some Afghan allies, to evacuate the country.

Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary, has started trying to throw the blame on Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, over Old Uncle Joe’s complete refusal to take any questions at all yesterday while the two leaders were meeting together in the Oval Office.

The press poll of the White House sent in a formal complaint targeting Biden yesterday after he straight up refused to take any questions from the American reporters which came up after Johnson took questions from various British reporters.

A CBS News reporter, Ed O’Keefe questioned Psaki as to what her understanding was concerning why “the British Prime Minister in the American Oval Office called on British reporter, and then when American reporters tried to call on the American president, we were escorted out.”

In response, Psaki stated, “Well, I think in that circumstance, and I think our relationship with the United Kingdom and with Prime Minister Johnson is so strong and abiding we will be able to move forward beyond this but he called on individuals from his press corps without alerting us to that intention in advance.”
