California's population fell by more than 182,000 people in 2020, marking the first year-over-year loss ever recorded for the nation's most populous state.

State officials announced Friday that California's population dipped 0.46% to just under 39.5 million people from January 2020 to January 2021.

However the media and the local political hack fucks want to claim that it's a result of declining birth rate, plus reductions in international immigration and an increase in deaths because of the coronavirus.

Not a mention of radical leftist/socialist/communist policy being implemented.

I suspect if they ignore the real issues long enough, they may determine that the real problems dont exist.

The homes are so expensive in California you need to be on your game to live here. Slackers need not apply. They just move to some other state where they can afford better housing with less effort. Another reason is many are selling their shack here for a fortune and buying an upscale house in poorer states.
Few move over politics and those with paid off homes here live very inexpensively. Our property taxes are held down by Prop 13. I can live cheaper and better here than anywhere else. At any rate, less people means less cars in my way. Head'em up... Move'em out!
    Ain't life grand. :)

Are you really getting Texans moving into Colorado permanently? We just went to snow ski, piss of the locals by skiing in cowboy hats, and then GTFO.
      It's fucking cold up there.

      Oh hell yes.
And we know they are from Texas because they don't register their cars in Colorado, so when that Dodge or Ford blows by you its almost always bearing those black and white Texas plates. But you really don't even need to see the plates. The "sign language salute" thanking you for letting them pass are just as reliable. :D

Gavin Newsom proposes $600 stimulus payments for two-thirds of California residents

California Governor Gavin Newsom is widely predicted by analysts and pollsters to keep his job following a referendum in a state dominated by his Democratic party(AFP)

California's governor Gavin Newsom unveiled plans Monday to send direct cash payments to two-thirds of residents under a $100 billion plan to assist economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The package which includes tax rebate checks for all residents earning less than $75,000, as well as additional support for households struggling with rent and utility bills, comes as Newsom faces a referendum on his leadership later this year.

"California is gonna come roaring back," said Newsom at a press conference Monday.

"This time last year, we announced a $54.3 billion projected shortfall. Today we are announcing a projected $75.7 billion budget surplus," added Newsom, governor of a state that is the world's fifth-largest economy.

Two-third of Californians would receive a check for at least $600, with an additional $500 for families with children, under plans that need to be approved by the state legislature.

To tackle "the stress and the anxiety over the course of the last year-plus in this pandemic-induced recession," Newsom proposed another $5 billion to help low-income Californians pay rent, and up to $2 billion toward water, gas and electricity bills.

Newsom was initially praised for his handling of the pandemic but has come under growing criticism from some constituents -- in particular small business owners -- for keeping strict restrictions in place even as other parts of the United States reopened more quickly.

Despite those measures, California suffered one of the nation's worst winter Covid spikes.

A petition calling for a vote on booting Newsom out of office has reached the required number of signatures to trigger a referendum.

Newsom is widely predicted by analysts and pollsters to keep his job following the vote -- expected to take place by November -- in a state dominated by his Democratic party.

Newsom must think $600 is the going rate for votes he needs to stay in office.

California Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox is facing a local investigation into his decision to campaign with a 1,000-pound bear in San Diego.

The San Diego Humane Society confirmed to The Hill Friday that its law enforcement division is “investigating the use of a Kodiak bear on the campaign trail.”

The group says Cox violated a city law that prohibits anyone besides zoos from bringing wild animals into the area.

Cox’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill, but told local media outlets that it had the approval of “several government agencies” to campaign with the bear, whose name is Tag.

"Every care was taken to ensure Tag’s comfort and safety with the approval of several government agencies. California needs beastly change and that may ruffle some feathers of left-wing activists," campaign press secretary Anthony Ramirez said in a statement to NBC7.

The campaign is renting the bear from Working Wildlife in Frazier Park, which loans out wild animals for entertainment purposes.

Cox is one of several Republicans running in a recall election against California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D). Other Republicans in the field include reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and former Rep. Doug Ose.

Recall supporters have already submitted enough signatures to trigger an election, but surveys suggest Newsom is in a strong position to keep his seat.

A poll released Tuesday found that 49 percent of voters oppose recalling Newsom, while 36 percent support his ouster.

California is losing in leaps and bounds..lost 165,000 tax payers, resulting in almost $9 billion in revenue loss.

That does not include the loss due to the massive restrictions the Tyrant Newsome imposed on the citizens of Cali-fucking-fornia.

No other State in the Union has seen such a migratory loss...speaks volumes, huh?

With new research this is the actual tally of folks leaving....182,083 people in 2020.

There are various reason for folks to stay or leave a State, freedoms...weather...crime rates...economy/taxation, or just finding a State that wont send them back to their native Countries, like California doesn't do

California has natural resources that the free market demands, however Government Regulation is making it very undesirable to harness those Natural Resources for the free market.

It sure appears to be a State wide trend to me.

Sure, people can buy a much nicer home in a lower cost of living state. It does look attractive when you see what you can move up to. Can't really blame them. But right now what's driving up the price of homes is low inventory and it's nationwide. Simply not enough homes to go around and they can't build them fast enough.

But why does it have to be MY neighborhood?

But you're right. Lumber prices and the list goes on. They say airline prices are going down, but I sure don't see it.

As it is...the left coast is still making the news with the tyrannical/anti constitutional bans.

Gun shows are now banned in the State of California on government owned properties, like County fairgrounds and the like.

Caitlyn Jenner says California has declined, calls Newsom beholden to special interests
In TV interview, 'inclusive Republican' candidate for governor claims Democrat facing recall is 'not getting anything done, he's a politician'

I think Jenner has a real shot, appealing to so many across the spectrum, beyond political affiliation, be tough for dems and libs to turn they're back, republicans will recall 1976 when Jenner brought glory to America...

who wouldn't be inspired by the memory of an Olympic great...and I'll bet that unopened box of Wheaties is worth a fortune today!
