  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

I knew its not increasing voter access that scared conservative/Republicans the most about HR 1. What terrifies them is the campaign finance reforms. But I didn't think we would be lucky enough to actually get them on tape.

And they have even more to worry about now because I just read where Chuck Schumer thinks he can use a 1974 law to push HR 1 through with a simple majority vote.

Leaked recording reveals right-wing donors are terrified by conservative support for bill to prevent billionaires from buying elections

A newly surfaced recording shows a senior adviser to Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell conspiring with the Koch brothers' network and other conservative groups to torpedo sweeping voting rights legislation.

The Jan. 8 recording obtained by The New Yorker reveals leading conservative activists are alarmed by public support for House Resolution 1 and Senate Bill 1, commonly known as the For The People Act, and they privately admitted they had no effective way to counter the argument that billionaires should not be able to buy elections.

"When presented with a very neutral description" of the bill, "people were generally supportive," Kyle McKenzie, the research director for the Koch-run advocacy group Stand Together. "The most worrisome part . . . is that conservatives were actually as supportive as the general public was when they read the neutral description."

"There's a large, very large, chunk of conservatives who are supportive of these types of efforts," he added.

The election reform bill, which would ban large, anonymous political donations, enjoys broad public support, and McKenzie told participants that Senate Republicans would need to use "under-the-dome" legislative tactics to stop the bill because generally everyone but them agreed billionaires should not be able to buy elections behind the scenes.

"Unfortunately, we've found that that is a winning message, for both the general public and also conservatives," McKenzie said.

The Koch-funded group had spent a lot of money to find persuasive arguments against the bill, but found that even claiming it would allow Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to hold Trump administration officials accountable wasn't particularly effective.

"Sadly," he said, conservatives weren't even persuaded when the phrase "cancel culture" was tied to the bill.

"It really ranked at the bottom," McKenzie said. "That was definitely a little concerning for us."

One thing that economists have been pointing out is as soon as that bill was proposed states and cities were on the phone to Delta telling them they could move there and get lots of government help and support. And you don't have to be an economist to know that. Business is business and cut throat competition and landing Delta would be a big and very lucrative prize.

The most powerful source in this country is neither Democrats nor Republicans. Because money talks and bullshit walks. And its corporate America that has the money so when they talk politicians listen. And right now corporate America is being forced to take a stand against voter racist suppression. Because its too obvious what the Republicans are trying to do which is trying to keep Black and Brown people from voting. And that's bad for business.

Democrats flipped 15 seats in the Virginia state legislature in 2018. If they can flip the same number in Georgia, Democrats would be in charge and holy shit will Republicans regret the bill they just passed.

Dem governor wins big as All-Star Game moved to a blue state: report

    www.rawstory.com

One Democratic governor may be the biggest beneficiary of the backlash against Georgia's Republican governor.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp suffered a major public rebuke when Major League Baseball moved the All-Star Game out of Atlanta following his signing of a controversial voter suppression bill. The decision was expected to cost Georgia $100 million.

"Coors Field in Denver is expected to host this year's All-Star Game, sources told ESPN's Buster Olney on Monday. MLB opted to move the game out of Atlanta due to voting laws passed in Georgia last month," ESPN reported Monday. "It will mark the second time the homer-friendly home of the Colorado Rockies will host the Midsummer Classic. The American League beat the National League 13-8 at Coors in 1998."

The move would be a major win for Governor Jared Polis (D-C0). While Georgia's long lines at polling stations have been harshly criticized, Colorado is a vote-by mail state.

The reporting was confirmed by the Associated Press.

Colorado had country's 2nd highest turnout last year, interestingly. It sent every registered voter an absentee ballot (& people were registered via automatic registration). It also recently restored voting rights to all formerly incarcerated ppl & ended prison gerrymandering.

I personally think you should have to identify yourself with a drivers license, birth certificate finger prints and a DNA swab all attached to the ballot. Everything videotaped. No computers counting votes. Ballots to only be destroyed after 4 years. I want the mail- in ballot crap to stop. We have it, it’s an absentee ballot. We must get this broken system fixed, to ensure trust in the system.
I personally think there was major fraud in the last election. What recourse do I have, other than to complain to the same people who set up the existing voting system.
Would you take your car to the same mechanic who couldn’t fix your car the first time?
