Once signed in, on the left-hand-side menus under "Account", click on "Post a new story"
Fill in the required boxes on the new page:
TITLE - ie name for your story
SYNOPSIS - Short catchy description that will appear under the story name for people to see what your story is about
INTRODUCTION - Brief comment to go at the head of your story when people have clicked to go to your story (can leave blank I think)
GENRE - Drop down list; if it's a work of fiction - choose Fiction, etc
THEMES - Choose from the drop down list any appropriate theme/s for your story, and click the Add button to add that theme. If you have multiple themes, choose multiple entries
YOUR STORY - Paste your story here. I say paste, because you wont have time to sit and write the story in this field before you get automatically logged out of the site. So, write the story in Word or whatever you want to use, and then copy / paste it into this box. NOTE - You can only use (as far as I am aware) very basic formatting - Bold, Italic, Underline. Use {b} [] and for bold, for example, or replace the "b" with "i" for italic, and "u" for underline.
CHARACTERS COUNT - You need to have at least 5000 characters, or about 1000 words.
COMMENTS - Choose whether you want people to be able to add comments or not
ANONYMOUS VOTE - Choose if people need to be signed in to vote or not
VALIDATION - Either choose "Continue Editing" if you aren't ready to publish yet, or "Publish" to have the story published. I'd suggest you "Continue Editing" at least once, so you can review the story for any formatting issues, but also do one last proof read, because once published, you can't make any changes easily.
SAVE - Click this to save (which will either publish the story, or save it for more editing).

Once you save - if you chose to edit - you can go to "My stories" under "Account" on the side bar, and then click on "Edit" to check it out. Once happy, then change the drop down to "Publish".

Once you do choose "Publish" and click save, it will go into the queue to be posted to the Sexstories.com website. This may take 24 hours or so. Once it is live, you'll get updates on how many people have read / commented / voted under the "My stories" section. You'll also be able to find the story listed under the themes that you selected.

Then sit back and enjoy the roller coaster as people read, like / dislike, and comment on your story, making you feel like a king, or like shit. (But hey, maybe you're into scat, so, all good, right?)

To apply bold, use standard forum format coding - ie {b} bold goes here {/b} -- Except, replace the { } with [ ]

For italics, use i instead of b in the example above. And for underline - use u

when I,m looking through a list of stories for my evening wank and I see humour amongst the headings I pass over it , if I want a laugh I,ll watch Laurel and Hardy

 

I'm a new user and had a few questions regarding the above, as I hope to be posting a few stories in the coming days/weeks. In general, is it wise to allow Anonymous Votes and Comments, or is it better to keep those options exclusive to Members? I had read a few posts from others mentioning that new stories will often get inundated with negative votes relatively quickly after being published, thus decreasing the chance of it being read in the future by others. Does setting the vote option to Members Only help prevent that, or does it really not matter? I guess I care less about the comments (other than preventing Spam/Bots), but I would expect to see significantly less votes if only Members were allowed. Considering the rate of obtaining votes appears to be quite low anyway when compared to total views, perhaps not. I appreciate any thoughts from more experienced users.

 

I’m also new, just posted my first story about a week ago. The rating maxed out at 97% but is now done to 89% with 21k reads and about 130 votes.

My thought was to have it open for an “honest” appraisal… but - this isn’t exactly the Science journal…

Might reconsider closing the voting on future stories just to see the comparison.

 

I've always left it open. Narrowing it to members only will greatly limit the number of votes. It's a matter of what is important to you.

Be sure to use accurate labels. The labels will draw in readers who don't necessarily pick from the top whatever percentage and are just looking for a certain type of story.

Also, I've noticed that once a quickly popular story gets knocked down by the negative crew a story will often make its way back up based on merit. Participating here can help a little as those of us who post on the forum will go check out a new writer who was good enough to join the discussion.

 

I like to leave votes and comments open. I assume most people don’t log in and I don’t really care about getting a high rating, but if I see some stories rate lower than others I try to find out what I didn’t do well.

I,ve said before readers' ideas of what is good or bad depends to a large extent on what a readers 'bent' is. If they like 'incest' and your story is something else they may mark your story down not because it,s not well written but the content is not to their liking and furthermore what are readers suppose to be voting on, good writing or what they like to read about. Again Iv'e said I think a more appropriate voting system might be the number of times a story is read which will show up the most popular genres if nothing else, ie where will 'scat' finish in the most popular story list. Hey ho whatever.

TALES FROM THE "BUXMOX BELLE"-PATTY, THE MAN-MAD SHEWOLF

I really must tell you this tale of terror about Athy's only female werewolf. Her name is Patty and she can drink the black stuff as it was going out of fashion and she is totally man-mad. Patty wasn't as bad as most werewolf's go, but when her blood's up, she just can't keep her furry paws off men!, big, small it really doesn't bother her at all!
But this daft, dozy furry creature comes out during the day instead of the dead of night when the moon is full. Her last male victim was poor old Raymond Cole, our local Postman, and by the time she'd finished with him, where she left her lovebites, he couldn't sit down for over six weeks, even today he still feels dazed and stunned!!

I can still remember the day that she gate-crashed the public bar of the "Buxmom Belle". The doors flew open and in she bounded, all 5"8 feet of her, black fur, green eyes and a mouth full of fangs that would put a Great White Shark to shame!! It was just then that P.C. Kelley Greenwood, our local Garda walked in, "Now then Patty!, Shewolf of this parish, I hope your not going to cause any trouble " said he. Patty growled and pointed to the porter pump and wimpered. Greenwood gave the great hairy beast a right glare and warned her, "Remember Patty, you're still barred from the "Nun & Midwife!". The hairy beast gave Greenwood the biggest pair of sad eyes this side of Belfast,

He looked down at his watch and said "Ah will yer look at that!, I'm now off duty!" giving the Shewolf a very cheeky grin, Patty nuzzled him very gently and gave him a cheeky fangy smile back. "LANDLORD! two pints Please!" he said with a wry smile. And there they stood, Garda and Shewolf drinking like the best of friends!!

Much later and about 19 pints later, Patty was as leggless as a newt, she looked at me with her pint glass in her hand, begged for that fatal last pint!, she downed in it in one, and hit the floor with a massive thud, snoring her head off!! It took six of us to put her to bed in the back room and then the cheeky minx gave me a massive lovebite and passed out cold!!

So beware! There's wolf's in them there Irish hills and this one likes her men and drink in any order!!
