Shooter attended a funeral once where the son and son in law got into a brawl over who was going to be in the lead carrying the casket.
It was funny, but of course no one laughed as those two assholes flailed away at each other.

Shooter has to say, the brawls going on here are much better.

Well, it was a hoot. It was a first for Shooter though. Really, who does that?

When our family attends a funeral they are not as much solemn affairs as a celebration.

At shooters dads funeral we had the ships telegraph from his old war ship and if you rang it you got a shot of dad's favorite (and very nasty) cheap scotch.

The under 21 crowd picked up on that very quickly, but weren't really all that disapointed when the bartender substituted ginger ale. That telegraph got one hell of a workout that day. Dad would have been proud.

 

Ginsburg would have retired in 2016 had Hillary been elected, and in fact she should have long ago over her health, maybe she would have lived longer. RGB refused however and "chose" to hang around hoping to live long enough to see Trump defeated. The fact is, she didn't live long enough, and rightfully Trump should replace her!

 

There are times I wonder what happened to civil discourse or even basic civility, then I remember its the forums where there are no consequences for what one says.

 

That's actually a good thing about the forum your free to say just about anything here without consequences. Just as those that disagree with you are. With the notable exceptions of saying a few forbidden words and posting pictures of forbidden things like pictures of kids and such.

RBG was all about Politics as a Justice and not the law or the constitution. Nobody should look up to her as a professional.... As a human sure.

Everyone brings up 2016...Obama did not have the support of the people or the Senate. The Senate was not required to approve a thing as the people did not.

She could have stepped down before 2016 and they'd of had no choice but to replace her. Nobody would have accepted a senate that left the court unable to rule for years.

 

Bin doin' me sum thinkin' 'bout the old lady today... Like I've said I can't really recall an occasion where I have agreed with her legal rulings, but I did (still do) respect her.

In watching all the BS being said in DC and by everyone else that for some unknown reason thinks their opinion matters... I can't help but think Justice Ginsberg is smiling from whatever vantage point she's watching all this from,. It's like she dumped 50 gallons of Kerosene in the Capitol building and tossed a match over her shoulder on the way out the door... LOL... Kinda like "FU ASSHOLES... IM OUTTA HERE AND YOU ARE ALL SCREWED" ... Maybe she did have a pretty good sense of humor after all...

 

So part of what they are showing on the news and touting as 'close to' her last wishes were that she wanted 'A NEW President' to choose her successor.

Would RBG really want her seat unfilled until 2024?

Honestly, I hope that was not indicative of her actual last words or dying wish, because I DO have respect for her, and if that were true, it would greatly diminish her.
