First time I've made a thread. Here goes. So I had a problem with my furnace a few years ago.

As far as I know this company is huge, maybe nation wide with local offices.

Two years ago I had them fix my furnace, now I get an email and text, about an invoice.

I thought about responding, but I paid the guy on the spot, credit card, looked up the phone number, Texas, I'm in Illinois.

And the email, not the guy who fixed the furnace. Be careful everyone.

 

I’m extremely shocked how many people fall for scams. They probably have more money than sense.

 

The criminals are smart, the ones that aren't in prison!

 

It surprises me also, but you're contacting me now about an invoice from two years ago?

SCAM. I paid with a credit card before genius left.

 

Excuse me sir but I need your credit card number. You’re past due on your xnxx subscription payment.

 

They were asking about an invoice, not asking for money, yet.

Out of state, hmmm not buying it

 

Yeah let's make sure it's legit!

Had a bank charge of $96 show up that was a fraud.
Bad mistake.
SWAMBO called the bank.
Then she called the company holding the charge.
Asked them who they were etc.
The buffoon on the other end wanted account numbers, and names, and addresses.
SWAMBO explained that a) bank already froze the charge b) as far as information, no. c) What is it you offer that costs $96. The bafoons response was to hang up.
Even worse, mistake, hanging up on SWAMBO.
It became her mission to find this bunch, in particular the buffoon. Found them on the web, found their web site, and proceeded to give them poor ratings on every media she could.
Got a call this AM from the company threatening to sue if the poor ratings weren't removed.
Even worse mistake.
SWAMBO is preparing an assault for this afternoon.

 

There abouts 2 yrs back got a txt supposedly from my bank one Sunday night close to midnight... Telling me my debit card had some fraudulent charges and that a needed to call this 800 number... Well I blew it off thinking some scam...

So Monday AM I got to thinking about that txt and called the branch where my account was... Seems the txt was no scam. Someone had been trying to use my debit card in New Jersey... It was an unusual charge so my bank shut down my account... too took almost 2 weeks to get another card.. but I was pleased they did what they did...

 

I had my debit card and credit card canceled within a week just before a work trip for the same reason. I can tell the difference between my bank and not my bank.

 

I keep getting calls telling me that my car warranty is running out, and I tell the lady to go fuck herself, it’s fun. I got a call the other day, the lady asked me if I was looking for single coverage or family coverage, I told her I wasn’t looking for a fuckin thing and hung up. Just ignore the fucking thing and forget about it, nobody scammed you they just tried. Forget about it

 

I Hate robo calls.
Answer phone delay & then a recording.
Dr's office use them now to confirm appointments.
I just hang up, if I'm not important enough for a real person than they're not important enough to acknowledge.
A specialist office panicked because after 3 tries their system posts as appt. Cancelled. lol

 

I got one of the Indian IRS calls and trolled the poor sap for 30+ minutes. He started out with a good imitation of an American voice, but it didn’t take long for his true accent to begin to creep into his voice. He threatened to break down my door and arrest me if I didn’t agree to pay the past due taxes. I told him to come on. He’s be the first to receive my payment - a .45 slug right on the red dot target on his forehead between his eyes.

Amazingly he hung up and I never got another IRS call.
