Trump campaign lawyer blew up on Giuliani after he accused White House aides of lying to the president: Michael Wolff

In an excerpt from his third book on Donald Trump's presidency, author Michael Wolff revealed that presidential campaign official Justin Clark stormed out of an all-hands meeting at the White House after former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani told the president everyone was lying to him as they surveyed their legal options.

The excerpt, recently published in Rolling Stone, details how Giuliani called into the Oval Office to suggest legal strategy right after the Trump campaign requested -- and was granted -- a recount in Georgia.

As Wolff reports, "In his intense, barely-take-a-breath, mouthful-of-spit, speeding-motor voice, such that it was particularly hard to make out what he was saying on the poor speakerphone audio, Giuliani pressed the case that the president's lawyers had f*cked up the recount process in Georgia and that they weren't paying attention to the even greater issue of the wholesale corruption of the voting machines."

With the author suggesting, "Trump often seemed amused" to let his lawyers fight it out, Wolff wrote that Giuliani insisted, "You have to file a suit in Georgia."

Per Wolff: "'We are going to get dismissed,' said an impatient Clark, open in his contempt for the former mayor, trying to spell out the specific procedures for challenging an election in Georgia. 'Georgia election law requires you to do this post-certification. They've just started the hand recount.' That is, you could sue only after the recount was completed."

That led Giuliani to shoot back, "We should never have requested the recount," at which point Clark said it was a moot point and what was done was done and they would have to wait to let the process play out.

Per Wolff: " 'They are lying to you, Mr. President. Your people are lying to you,' Giuliani pressed," leading Clark to blurt, "Jesus, Rudy, you are such a f*cking assh*le," before exiting and returning to the Cabinet Room.

Wolff notes that after the altercation, Trump went back to suggesting there was election fraud at which point Giuliani began "banging hard on the subject of the Dominion voting machines, where Trump (and [Fox News personality Sean] Hannity) had left off the day before."

I actually believe Rudy was telling the truth then and is lying now.

Rudy Giuliani told FBI he was 'under no obligation to tell the truth' while campaigning for Trump: transcript

Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani admitted to the FBI that he lied during media appearances about members within the agency feeding him dirt on investigations into Hillary Clinton.

Transcripts of Giuliani's FBI interviews obtained by the Washington Post reveal that Giuliani told agents that he could be completely cavalier with the truth while he was making media appearances to support Trump's candidacy.

"There's no obligation to tell the truth," Giuliani told FBI agents of his decision to "throw a fake" and concoct information that the FBI was supposedly giving him about Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The FBI interview took place in 2018 when the agency was investigating whether any of its agents improperly leaked information to the former New York mayor who is now best known for his failed efforts to help former President Donald Trump overturn the results of the 2020 election.

"Giuliani's public credibility has suffered significantly since 2016," notes the Post. "He is under investigation by federal prosecutors in New York for his dealings with Ukrainian figures in the run-up to the 2020 election, and his license to practice law has been suspended in New York and D.C. over his unfounded claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election."

Rudy Giuliani 'should be concerned' about prosecution after henchman's guilty plea: Ex-federal prosecutors

Rudy Giuliani on his podcast (screengrab).

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti on Monday commented on the new agreement by former Rudy Giuliani henchman Igor Fruman to plead guilty to charges of campaign finance violations and other charges.

Taking to Twitter after the news broke, Mariotti said that Giuliani "should be concerned about Fruman testifying against him at trial." He explained that if a co-conspirator were to testify against Giuliani that it would have more power.

The campaign finance issues that Fruman was charged with aren't the same as the investigations into whether Giuliani was working as an unregistered foreign agent.

It's possible, however, that a close associate such as Fruman could have some knowledge based on his experience with Giuliani.

Another former prosecutor and CNN legal analyst, Elie Honig, also wondered if Fruman's guilty plea is part of a possible agreement to implicate Rudy Giuliani, who is being investigated by the Justice Department.

"The big question now: Is this a cooperation plea deal, or a 'straight' plea, without cooperation?" tweeted Honig. "We'll know soon, either by the structure of the formal paperwork around the deal, or by intrepid reporting."

    See their comments below:

Rudy Giuliani should be concerned about Fruman testifying against him at trial. The prosecution’s case will have more power if a co-conspirator testifies and claims that Giuliani was part of the scheme with him.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani held his annual 9/11 dinner on Saturday evening.

Lawyers Victoria Toensing and Joe diGenova, former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, NYPD Police Benevolent Association President Pat Lynch and Trump pardon recipient Eddie Gallagher were in attendance according to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman.

Former federal prosecutor Ron Filipkowski posted to clips of Giuliani speaking to Twitter.

"Rudy rolled into the 9/11 dinner drunk out of his mind tonight. Here he is giving his Queen Elisabeth impression, and assuring the audience he was never with a young girl and Prince Andrew," Filipkowski wrote.

"I'm not sure I have ever seen someone give a speech at a formal occasion as drunk as Rudy Giuliani is right now at the 9/11 dinner," he added.

Steve Cohen: Nancy Pelosi deserves $200 million for Presidio because 'she does more for America' - Washington Times
‘She does more for America’: Democrat defends $200 million for park in Pelosi’s district
By Valerie Richardson - The Washington Times - Thursday, September 9, 2021
House Democrats rebuffed Republican efforts Thursday to remove $200 million for the Presidio in the San Francisco district of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with one lawmaker declaring that she deserved “a little bit more” because of her hard work.

Rep. Steve Cohen, Tennessee Democrat, admitted during the House Natural Resources Committee’s mark-up session that it sometimes seems that “Speaker Pelosi gets maybe a little bit more, and some of the leaders get a little bit more on some of these bills.”

“Well, the truth is, they should,” said Mr. Cohen. “If it weren’t for her working 24/7, and she does, to keep this place going, we wouldn’t be going. She does more for America than any other member, I would submit in this Congress, times 10. So I support the proposal,” he said.

New details continue to be reported from the forthcoming Trump book Peril by The Washington Post's Bob Woodward and Robert Costa.

On Thursday, Business Insider reported on a conversation between Donald Trump and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) following a press conference alleging election fraud held by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and conspiracy theorist Sidney Powell, where what appeared to be black hair dye dripped down Giuliani's face.

"They were just beyond bizarre," Graham reportedly said. "And I think it took a lot of the air out of the balloon that the challenges are so unfocused, haphazard and conspirational."

Trump admitted Giuliani was not acting competently, but said he couldn't find a better lawyer.

"He's crazy. He says crazy sh*t. I get it. But none of the sane lawyers can represent me because they've been pressured. The actual lawyers have been told they cannot represent my campaign," Trump argued.

    Its the law suits stupid,

‘Rudy is really hurt’: Giuliani found out he’s been banned from Fox News

Rudy Giuliani and some other senior aides to Donald Trump have been banned from Fox News.

The former Trump lawyer and New York City mayor hasn't appeared on the conservative network for almost three months, but he learned of the ban the night before Sept. 11, when his scheduled appearance on "Fox & Friends" to mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks was cut and host Pete Hegseth called to apologize, reported Politico.

"Rudy is really hurt because he did a big favor for Rupert [Murdoch]," a source close to Giuliani told the website. "He was instrumental in getting Fox on Time Warner so it could be watched in New York City."

The ban comes from the top, Politico's sources said, and includes Giuliani's son, Andrew, who has not appeared on Fox News since launching his New York gubernatorial campaign, although rival GOP candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin has made frequent appearances. However, a Fox News spokesperson pointed to Andrew Giuliani's appearances on the network since announcing his run for governor and a recent interview on September 10 and denied there was a ban on Andrew Giuliani

Dominion Voting Systems has sued Fox News for allowing guests like Giuliani, who's also been sued, spread false claims about the 2020 election, and the former mayor admitted during a recently publicized 2018 FBI deposition that he pushed lies about Hillary Clinton on the network ahead of the 2016 election.

Giuliani's former police commissioner Bernie Kerik, who also pushed election conspiracies, appeared live only once on Sept. 11, on host Jesse Watters' show, and he complained about Giuliani's ban to Fox Business Network president Lauren Petterson.

"I could not have been more disappointed with the Fox coverage on the 20th anniversary of September 11," Kerik told Politico. "Then they chose to intentionally ignore Mayor Giuliani who was, and who according to their own coverage for the last two decades was America's hero on the day and in the aftermath of the attack. Regardless of reasoning, I think this was another demonstration of Fox's cowering to the far left."

Other senior aides to Trump have also been shut out by Fox News.

"They're not doing us any favors," said one ex-Trump aide.

In an email to Raw Story,m a Fix News spokesperson denied Rudy Giuliani was ever in talks for an appearance on FOX & Friends on September 11th.

'It was all made up!' Maddow reveals bombshell Rudy Giuliani testimony about origins of Trump's big election lie

    Bob Brigham
    September 28, 2021

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Fox News (screengrab)

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Tuesday examined the origins of former President Donald Trump's "Big Lie" of election fraud, which she described as the "current animating force" in the Republican Party.

"I mentioned a few days ago that a Colorado lawsuit was about to become a font of information about where all this stuff came from, about how these lies and conspiracy theories about the election got invented, how they came up with this stuff, how they started propagating it," she said. "I may be wrong, and I'll correct myself if I am, but so far this has not been previously reported on TV."

Maddow noted a deposition of Rudy Giuliani, where he was "under oath explaining the due diligence he did as a lawyer, as an officer of the court, when he decided he needed to go public with these claims that the election was stolen."

Maddow explained Giuliani was asked, "As I'm hearing your testimony, in terms of eyes-on information about your claims about Dominion Voting Systems, we've got some media reports that you generally described, and then you looked at some Facebook postings that you described?"

"I don't remember if it was Facebook," Giulian replied. "Those social media posts get all one to me — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter."

"Anything else you laid eyes on?" Giuliani was asked.

"Right now, I can't recall anything else that I laid eyes on," he replied.

At another point in the deposition, Giuliani revealed that he had no evidence to back up his claim that a witness was credible. He went on to deny he was holding a trial by press conference, arguing it was actually just an investigation by press conference.

Giuliani, a former associate attorney general of the United States, argued he would be a "terrible lawyer" if he verified unfounded claims before repeating them.

"Again, this deposition from Rudy Giuliani, filed in a defamation cates, but that story he admits was just concocted is what ultimately led to the attack on the U.S. Capitol building on January 6," Maddow noted. "It's all made up."

Rudy Giuliani 'is in an excruciating legal predicament — and could very well flip': legal experts

    Bob Brigham
    October 01, 2021

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani served as the U.S. Attorney for the fabled Southern District of New York, but is now facing such legal peril he might flip on former President Donald Trump, according to analysis by legal experts.

The situation was examined by New York magazine under the headline: "Rudy Giuliani Is (Probably) Screwed: Former prosecutors say he is in an excruciating legal predicament — and could very well flip."

"Has any political figure in recent years fallen farther and harder than Rudy Giuliani?" author Peter Stone asked. "Giuliani is being treated, by all appearances, as a dead man walking. America's Mayor, as he was once known, has been abandoned by his most powerful friend. He has lost his megaphone at Fox News and is now going around with a begging bowl for money."

Stone interviewed former Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Bromwich.

"Giuliani is facing a set of challenges unlike anything he's dealt with before," Bromwich said. "The extremely serious criminal investigation that could send him to jail, the civil suits that could bankrupt him, the disbarment proceedings that may well end any opportunity to practice law ever again — it's a tidal wave of problems with potentially devastating personal and professional consequences."

"It's hard to think of any analogous case where a person who once rode so high — as a prosecutor, a New York mayor, a serious presidential candidate, and an international figure — has been brought so low in so many ways and where the damage has been entirely self-inflicted," he said.

A former acting chief of the Justice Department's fraud section, Paul Pelletier, noted the toll the investigations are likely taking on Giuliani.

"The emotional and financial pressure of a single long-term federal white-collar investigation can take a crippling toll on any target of such an investigation," Pelletier explained. "Enduring multiple investigations, in addition to bar disciplinary actions and financial pressures, creates an enormous incentive to alleviate that pressure in some way. The only logical ways I know of are to plead guilty, cooperate, or both."

He also offered a prediction of what happens next.

"If past is prologue, the search warrants conducted on the phones and electronic devices of Giuliani and his associates should soon begin bearing a cornucopia of fruit," Pelletier said. "That type of electronic evidence typically reveals compelling evidence of the criminal scheme outlined in the search-warrant affidavit. If and when that happens, the walls should close in pretty quickly on Mr. Giuliani and any identified criminal cohorts."

    Read the full analysis.

Giuliani claims he represented Trump campaign for free because Trump 'ordered me to do it'

According to newly released court documents, Rudy Giuliani testified that he represented Donald Trump for free after the 2020 election because Trump "ordered me to do it," Business Insider reports.

As Insider points out, Giuliani filed dozens of lawsuits on behalf of theTrump campaign's efforts to contest the results of the 2020 election -- all of which were thrown out by federal judges, and later sparked a series of defamation lawsuits targeting Giuliani and others representing the Trump campaign.

In the court documents, a Dominion Voting Systems' lawyer asked Giuliani if he was ever paid by the Trump campaign. Giuliani replied that he had only been reimbursed for his expenses. When asked why he would work for free, Giuliani said because Trump asked him to.

"The president — the president ordered me to do it," Giuliani replied.

Giuliani went on to say that Trump called him into the Oval Office on "either the 4th or the 5th" of November 2020 and told him to "go over and take over the campaign, tell them you're in charge."

According to court documents, that's when Giuliani's attorney advised him not to disclose information about his conversation with Trump that could be protected by attorney-client privilege.

"It doesn't matter if he made the statement. Don't disclose it if it's attorney/client privilege," Giuliani's attorney Joe Sibley said.

Trump could soon be off the hook in Stormy Daniels case — and Michael Cohen is 'disgusted'

Time may be running out for prosecutors to charge former president Donald Trump in connection with a $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

The payment occurred on Oct. 27, 2016, and there is a five-year statute of limitations on violations of federal elections law, the Daily Beast reported Wednesday.

Trump fixer Michael Cohen, who was sentenced to three years in prison on charges related to orchestrating the payment, blasted federal prosecutors for failing to charge Trump.

"I'm not surprised. I'm disappointed. In fact, I'm disgusted. I'm disgusted with Republicans, because no matter what their supreme leader elects to do, they justify it and rationalize it," Cohen told the Daily Beast, adding that he also recalls Democrats saying, "No one is above the law."

"If, in fact, that adage is true, then Trump, Allen Weisselberg, David Pecker and others... should have all been indicted and incarcerated as I was," Cohen said.

According to the Daily Beast, most legal scholars agreed that the statute of limitations will run out on the five-year anniversary of the hush-money payment.

However, others said Trump could be accused of an ongoing conspiracy to violate elections laws, which would push back the deadline for prosecutors to file charges.

Still others suggested that the clock should not have started until Trump left office, since the Department of Justice maintains that a siting president can't be indicted.

Richard Signorelli, a former federal prosecutor in Manhattan, said authorities shouldn't take any chances on making an arrest.

"He should be held accountable as soon as possible. Enough time has passed. The time has come," Signorelli said.

Say stumbler, you've been alleging that that $35,000 check to Cohen and signed by trump was hush money for stormy Daniels.
No matter that the hush money amount (according to cohen) was $150,000 and Cohen's retainer (according to cohen) was $35,000.
Showing that check somehow, in your mind, bolsters your hatred of trump.

Just a thought, but what it really does, Shooter thinks, is highlights your demented obsession with all things trump.

Already asked and answered at least a half dozen times, Just your phony merry go round games where you demand proof. It is presented to you. And then you just pretend that didn't happen and you just come back with the same lies over and over again,. Cohen presented that check to Congregational investigators the same day he testified under oath that Trump signed and gave him that check in the Oval Office, But since that was deemed too risky the rest of the $130,000 was laundered though Allen Weisselberg.
