Something I had no clue about, but have had the unpleasant experience first hand.
When vision in one eye is lost, you will hallucinate.
The doctor asked if I had any hallucinations yet?
My mind went to my younger days, than the word "yet" set in. I told him no, he matter of factly said "you will".
I did, it has slowed, but now and than, there are things, I see, that I know I am not.
The road I live on is an old trail, up until the store down the road, put up new, very bright lights, I would see indians, always going north. A friend, that has lived here all his life, told me this was an old indian camp, they excavated a whole teepee from the field next to me. Only once did I see anyone going south, they were not indians, they were soilders. Have no clue what it all neans. I had been seeing the indians for some time, before I told my friend, thought I was going nuts. Now, nothing just the bright lights.
But still see things, I know are not real.

 

@crhurricane , my brother experienced the same thing when he lost his vision. He was insistent that what he was seeing was real. Apparently the brain compensates for the missing vision by substituting images of what it has seen before, whether real or in dreams.

 

Yeap, never knew it, till I lost sight in one eye, CRVO. Central Renta Vain Oclusion, woke up one morning and the world has looked different from that day on.
Even though the doctors say it's unlikely to happen in the other eye, I'd be lying if I said it doesn't scare the hell outa me.
