Texan Tourists Caught on Camera Attacking NYC Restaurant Hostess After She Asks for Vaccine Cards

It’s been made very clear that, if you want to dine indoors in New York City, you have to have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine. But that seems to have come as a shock to a group of tourists from Texas who were caught on camera attacking a restaurant hostess after she asked them for proof of their vaccinations. According to NBC New York, the attack happened outside Carmine’s Restaurant on the Upper West Side early Thursday evening. Law-enforcement sources told the news outlet that the hostess was sent to a hospital after receiving several punches to her face. Three unnamed people are reportedly facing charges. In a statement to NBC News, a spokesperson for Carmine’s said: “It’s a shocking and tragic situation when one of our valued employees is assaulted for doing their job—as required by city policies—and trying to make a living.”

In the recording, Mary Rudyk, MD tells Director of Marketing Carolyn Fisher and another hospital employee that she wants the hospitals to become more "scary to the public" by inflating the number of COVID-19 patients, and by using messaging that falsely tells individuals "if you don’t get vaccinated, you know you’re going to die."

An anti-masker tried to run a Michigan health official off the road at 70 mph: report

A Michigan health official says an anti-mask activist tried to run him off the road at more than 70 mph after he announced a school mask mandate last month.

The Michigan Advance obtained an email sent by Kent County Health Department Director Dr. Adam London to county commissioners detailing the incident, which occurred shortly after London announced that masks would be required in pre-school through sixth grade, since children under 12 aren't eligible for COVID-19 vaccines.

"I had a woman try to run me off the road at 70+ miles per hour…twice, on Friday night," London wrote in his Aug. 22 email. "I think we have all seen the aggression and violence displayed at meetings across the nation during the past week."

London also recounted some of the other abuse and violent threats he's received from anti-maskers — "accusing [him] of being a deep state agent of liberal-progressive socialist powers that are working to undo the America they love" and calling him a "child-abusing monster."

"Last week, I had a person yell out to me, "Hey motherf*cker, I hope someone abuses your kids and forces you to watch,'" London wrote.

In response to the threats of violence and the "attempted vehicular assault" against London, Democratic commissioners issued a statement affirming their support for the health director, but Republicans on the board declined to sign it.

"At an Aug. 26 Kent County Board of Commissioners meeting, a large and often raucous crowd spewed harsh and aggressive words for London, who had to attend the meeting virtually due to concerns for his physical safety," the Michigan Advance reported, adding that many have called for his firing or resignation.

In his email to commissioners, London pleaded for help and compared anti-maskers to those who dismiss the Capitol insurrection as "a peaceful patriotic protest," or the alleged plot to kidnap Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as "just guys joking around."

"There is nothing to be gained by entertaining such people with dialogue," London wrote, adding that he will not "needlessly expose" himself or his family to the "brute mob hatred" of people who try to force their views on others through intimidation and threats of violence.

"I think it is a grave mistake to unnecessarily give them targets and platforms," he wrote. "There is a sickness in America far more insidious than COVID. You are more empowered to fight this disease than I am."

"I will not participate in witch trials in which the science I've presented, and the opinions of legitimate experts, is reduced to the same stage as people living in echo-chambers of junk science, salespeople, and Youtube videos," he wrote. "If you want to fire me, or censure me, or pass a resolution condemning me, by all means please proceed ... But first, let me share my prayer with you: I pray that people more powerful than me, Democrats and Republicans, rise up with one voice and say, 'we will not tolerate or provide quarter for this nonsense in our part of America.'"

London described himself in the email as a Christian who views his job as "an expression of faith."

"Others are calling me a traitor to our nation and liberty who must be stopped at all costs," London wrote. "Really? I'm the grandson of two WWII heroes, the son and step-son of men who served during Vietnam, and the brother of a soldier who served in Afghanistan. We proudly wave the flag at my house and in my office. Faith, Family and Country."

Wray says FBI domestic terrorism caseload has 'exploded' since last year



FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday testified to a Senate committee that his agency’s domestic terrorism caseload had “exploded” since early 2020, in particular cases involving racially or ethnically motivated crimes.

“Since the spring of 2020, so for the past 16, 18 months or so, we have more than doubled our domestic terrorism caseload from about 1,000 to around 2,700 investigations, and we have surged personnel to match, more than doubling the amount of people working that threat than the year before,” Wray testified during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on threats to the homeland.

“Certainly, the domestic terrorism caseload has exploded, and meanwhile the international terrorism caseload hasn’t subsided,” Wray said later during questioning from senators.

Wray noted that the “biggest chunk” of racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism the FBI tracks is now “favoring white supremacy.”

“We collect information about that threat. We have, as you say, prioritized that threat at a national threat priority level,” Wray said.

Wray’s testimony came a year after he testified to the House Homeland Security Committee that racially motivated violent extremism was the main issue pursued within FBI domestic terrorism cases.

It also came as the FBI continues to respond to and investigate the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, an issue Wray noted in his written testimony the FBI perceives as domestic terrorism.

Social media was used to help organize the Jan. 6 incident. Wray stressed Tuesday that the use of social media has transformed domestic terrorism and helped connect those who previously might not have posed a threat.

“Some of these same people before might have been stewing away in the basement or the attic in one part of the country and not communicating with each other, but today terrorism moves at the speed of social media,” Wray said.

“You have the ability of lone actors disgruntled in one part of the country to spin up similar, like-minded individuals in other parts of the country and urge them into action or inspire them into action,” he added.

'My family no longer feels safe': Wisconsin school board member resigns amid anger over his vote for mask mandates

A member of the Beaver Dam Unified School Board has resigned over what he says are safety threats to his family after he voted in favor of school mask mandates.

Madison.com reports that Tony Klatt, who has served on the school board for the last two years, is stepping down because he does not want to put his family members at risk from anti-mask activists who are angry with his vote.

"My family no longer feels safe," he explained on his Facebook page. "When there is talk of protesting my house and someone later pulls in front and takes a picture of my address while my daughter is home alone, she does not feel safe. When a car sits running in front of my house late at night on a non-thoroughfare, my family does not feel safe."

Nonetheless, Klatt said that he does not regret his decision to vote in favor of mask mandates for schools, which he said was the best decision based on the science of slowing the spread of COVID-19.

"The decision to put our kids in masks is not a popularity contest, it's based on facts at hand," he said.

Nonetheless, Klatt concluded that "it isn't in my family's best interest for me to try to appease a vocal group that continue to try to intimidate, harass, insult, and throw civility to the side."

Footage reported on by the Willamette Week shows Proud Boys standing on a street corner being outnumbered by people carrying signs supporting racial justice and LGBTQ+ rights.

The protest came after an education assistant showed up to Mabel Rush Elementary earlier this week in blackface to protest the "segregation" of workplace vaccination mandates. Lauren Pefferle was fired from the Newburg school system soon after.

"I feel segregated because I am unvaccinated," Pefferle told radio host Lars Larson. "Something is wrong here. The next day, I went to work and did put on some darker color on my skin part that showed. I was going about my morning duties and as there was opportunity to talk to staff... I would say I am representing Rosa Parks today regarding segregation."

In August, the Newberg school board also voted to ban teachers from displaying political symbols, including Black Lives Matter material and Pride flags.

Video taken by a right-wing activist shows a handful of left-wing protesters encircle a Proud Boys member who was speaking through a bullhorn. At one point, something instigates a scuffle. A man wearing a mask emblazoned with Pride colors later tried to break the fight up.

An unhinged woman was recently caught on camera going off on a furious anti-mask tirade in which she accused local school officials of trying to "suffocate" children.

The video, which was promoted and endorsed by disgraced former Trump national security adviser Mike Flynn, begins with the woman telling school officials that she'd "rather see this school in ashes than see you sit there with your pockets full while you suffocate our children."

The woman then declared that "we are sovereign citizens of the United States of America" and told the school officials that "you have no power to usurp the rights of our children or the authority that we have over our children!"

The woman concluded her rant by saying, "We the people have had enough, you are on notice, you will all be gone if you don't change your ways, right now!"

Flynn endorsed the woman's rant on his Telegram channel and wrote, "God bless this courageous, smart and very savvy mother."

He then added that "the only issue I have is there should be thousands of citizens jammed into the room behind her."

Capitol Police Chief Warns of Unprecedented ‘Level of Threats’ Against Lawmakers

The new chief of the U.S. Capitol Police says his department is seeing an unprecedented number of threats against lawmakers. In an interview with the Associated Press out Wednesday, J. Thomas Manger said 4,100 threats against lawmakers were reported just from January to March, meaning there will likely be close to 9,000 such threats by the end of the year. “We have never had the level of threats against members of Congress that we’re seeing today,” said Manger, who took over as chief in July. “Clearly, we’ve got a bigger job in terms of the protection aspect of our responsibilities, we’ve got a bigger job than we used to.” While the department has been at the receiving end of major criticism for perceived failures in its handling of the deadly Jan. 6 riot, the events of that day—during which five people died, including a Capitol police officer—have reportedly led to huge increase in job applications.
