Comedian Kathy Griffin's career was essentially destroyed after an Entertainment Weekly publicity photo showing her with a fake bloody head of Donald Trump. The image was aimed to be controversial artwork, but it led to Secret Service agents and federal officers bringing her in, threatening her with charges and a long investigation.

When Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) created an image of himself killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) and attempting to assassinate President Joe Biden, Republicans didn't even bat an eye. Days later no GOP members have come out against the assassination photo other than Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL).

Griffin couldn't help but notice the discrepancy in the way she was treated compared to Gosar. Tweeting Tuesday, she said that her image prompted a weeks-long investigation with federal agents interrogating her under oath and saying they were considering charging her with "conspiracy to assassinate the president of the United States."

It's unclear if the FBI or Capitol Police are investigating Gosar.

Shooter heard him make a lot of declarative statements, and a lot of bullshit (Shooter, by the way, is an expert at spotting bullshit, having listened to so much of it from despicables and dutch dickheads) but he didn't hear anything like; "I'm gonna kill you" or "I'm gonna beat you up" or anything that could actually, you know, be considered a direct threat aimed at anyone specifically.
So, Mr. Lawyer, can you identify exactly where the threat is?

'It's ludicrous': Ocasio-Cortez fumes about having to hire more security after Gosar's murder cartoon

On Tuesday, The Independent reported that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has complained she will be forced to fundraise to hire extra security following a tweet by Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) depicting a fantasy anime sequence of him murdering her and brandishing swords at President Joe Biden.

"Democratic Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York said threatening images like the one Rep Paul Gosar of Arizona tweeted last week means members like her have to raise more money for security," reported Eric Garcia. "Ms Ocasio-Cortez's words comes after Mr Gosar tweeted a video of the opening credits to the anime Attack on Titan that featured Mr Gosar killing a monster that had Ms Ocasio-Cortez's head on it."

"It's ludicrous," Ocasio-Cortez added of the situation.

Gosar took down the tweet at the reported urging of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) but has insisted there was never any violent intent behind it, and it was only symbolic of a political war in the country. House Democrats are drafting plans to censure Gosar, and possibly strip him of committee assignments — the same punishment meted out on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after it surfaced she endorsed social media posts calling for killing prominent Democrats.

This comes as other members of Congress report being targeted with violent threats, with Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) receiving an expletive ridden call wishing death on his family for voting on Biden's infrastructure bill.
