  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

How short of a story would work. I think it would be cool to see a story come to life.

I have a question for the Authors here.
If you create a story , how do you feel if someone were to take that story and take it in a slightly different Direction?
Basically I have read a couple of different stories here I feel could have gone in multiple directions, had the story played out that differently.
I have thought about getting into writing erotica, and thought this might be a good way to "dip my toe in the water". The reason I want to do this is I struggle coming up with "my own ideas" but I find it easy to take an already written piece and "put my stamp on it".
I would love to herar ya'lls thought on the matter

I would hope you would ask permission first and if the author did grant permission, you make it clear what you have written and what the author wrote!

Legally as long as you are not copying the text (copyright) or using a trademark without permission (which none of these would be) you are ok to "rewrite it".

If you just want to change like the ending, then I wouldn't copy and paste all the original author's work up to that point unless you got permission from them to do so as that is a direct copyright violation. You would need to rewrite the story up to that point in your words or be creative and make some kind of reference.

In the past I've participated on songwriter message boards (you want to see nitpicking critiques!) and in rare cases I have allowed someone to "try something" with a lyric of mine. More often I didn't care so much for the changes.

It would be the same here. If asked first and if it wasn't one of my favorites, I'd probably say ok, just to see where you'd go with it. But you should always ask someone first.

This goes without saying. I would never even try to write out a story like that without prior approval. And BTW NCfan you are one of my favorite Writers on this site. I especially loved "Running down a Dream" (which always gets the song by Tom Petty stuck in my head) and "House on Montague Street".

    1. NCfan
Thank you. Running Down a Dream was definitely taken from the Petty song. I do try to use a title that might cause a thought. For Montague Street, I was sure I knew it from somewhere and didn't want to copy the idea so I did some searching around. Nothing. Then one day listening to Tangled up in Blue there it was:

I lived with them on Montagüe Street
In a basement down the stairs
There was music in the cafés at night
      And revolution in the air

At least I hadn't take any of the ideas from the song so I felt ok.

Personally I would not care. Inspiration comes from many places but if it is very clear it started off with someone elsas story that should be stated up front.

Is there a way to delete tags you put on a threat?? I have some redundant tags on a thread, and want to get rid of them to add relevant ones.
    Thx!

Sequels - It's a dirty word to some writers here. For the purposes of this site it might be at the top of the list above fuck, suck, cock, cunt, pussy and cum.

I get it. Sequels are hard to pull off and usually not up to the level of the first story. And the audience for them is more limited. For every person who comments, "give me more", "where's the next part", there are obviously many who can't be bothered. Going by my own list I'd say a decent sequel gets about half the views of the first chapter.

One more thing. I do get people telling me some stories are too long. "Break it into chapters". But those are a minority.

So here's my thing on sequels. I get unconfortable when a story gets to a certain length. About 700 lines in my text editor. (I'm not sure how that translates here or on sexstories). I feel it's time to wrap it up before a reader gets bored. Also, it IS a porn site and people sometimes only need so much story.

However, if I have a story to tell, or if I decide I like the characters and want to see more of them, I'll got to a second, or more, chapters. Sometimes I really need to finish a story (The House on Montague Street, or Feels Like the First Time) which probably leads to the better sequels. Sometimes it's just for me, because I want to try something. Maybe switch the point of view (Like a Good Neighbor, part 3, or my latest Carlo's Way) or I want to do more with a scenario (Mickey and Kat - the 19th century NYC setting. In this case I wrote a 3rd and decided not to publish it) .

So anyway, in any discussion of whether a story needs or deserves a sequel, remember, sometimes the writer is just doing for himself. People are welcome to skip the effort. Although you could be missing a good one.

Not a rant, just looking to add to the sequel discussion as Carlo's Way hits the site. I don't know that Redheaded Stepchild needed a follow-up but I wanted to leave Suzy in a better place.

Then I realize, I wonder what happened back at the Matthews' house. And so, I write.

Man, you are so right NCfan, I am living in sequel hell right now. The wife wants what really happened and that is way too much fluff stuff for a porn site. I've suggested she write the story and post somewhere where people are looking for diary accounts and won't be bored with the non-sex or offended by the sex. Assuming there are sites like that!

Hi, there. Just posted my first story if anyone would like to read it. Am interested in feedback. I plan to write more, assuming this series is well received.

A well written story, with engaging characters but a little lacking in the sex department and from my experience on sexstories, that is all most readers are looking for. Doesn't mean you have to write that way, just an observation.

@strywriter thanks! I'm almost finished with pt. 2 and there is a lot more sex in that one. I needed more time to build characters in pt. 1 and I knew it was a little less, but hopefully people will stick with the story and enjoy the increased sex in the next installment. I will try to get it posted in the coming week.

Yeah, don't wait too long, I did and it almost killed both of my stories. Sometimes I think it might be better for scores if a writer were to write the entire story, divide it into chapters or parts and then post ever few days. I don't know, but I have been thinking of doing that with the next story as a test case.

Let us know when you put chapter 2 up!

Hey everyone. Just wondering what your preference is? Do you post your stories here, or do you post them over on the sexstories site? Both?

I've just posted a story here in the forum because I'm not sure if the sexstories site has processed it correctly...

Do you get more feedback here given it's a proper forum, instead of the "comments" on the other site?

    Appreciate your time.

You may get faster feedback/comments here but once your story is off page one it is unlikely to be seen again. A story posted on the site will stick around, keep getting views, and you may eventually get more comments there.
But it's a slow process. If you get 1 vote for every 100 views and 1 comment for every 10,000 views you're doing well.
I currently have three stories in the top five in the niche category I write to. They have been posted a combined total of nearly 10 years. They have nearly a million views between them, roughly 7,000 votes and precisely 15 comments.

(My theory for such low numbers:- the stories are so hot that the reader achieves his goal before getting to the end where the comment box and voting buttons are.) (jk)

      I agree with this.

you may get hundreds, even over 1000 views here, especially if you bump it from page 2 a couple times. On sexstories even my least popular stories get 1000s or tens of thousands of views.

However there’s a much better chance of a lengthier comment or discussion here.

I use a two step process of posting here then waiting a few days to post there. With the formatting required it gives me two more proofreads.

      Thanks for the feedback @dlcalguy & @NCfan
I hadn't thought about the fact that the stories would disappear into obscurity after a short time... not to mention - readers can't see what "themes" are involved in your story.
I may try that approach - post on the forum first, and then add to the sexstories site. Sounds like a good plan.
