Any other authors experience the 'story missing on profile page' issue? Any resolution yet?
My last story hasn't shown up on my profile page. If I sign in and go to 'my stories' it is there, but if I click on my profile, it is missing.
I figured it would be fixed by now.

So, if a user clicks on your profile to see all of your stories, the new ones will not be there.
Yes, I too was told it was being worked on.

 

@throatHER I thought I'd being the question over here. I saw your note on my latest story series "New Beginnings". I think I've seen the original Mad Max movie with Mel Gibson ages ago. I haven't seen or read the others. I don't really see the connection, other than that it takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. But it's the near future, to no strange technology. I moved it ahead alightly to allow for the "new" bomb that basically vaporized the people and animals (or most of them) while leaving the structures. It's a plot device. Given what we're writing here I didn't have the luxury of numerous chapters to explain the various components of this. I needed few people and most stuff around. What I was shooting (pun kind of intented) for was current people thrown into a more old west environment. Self reliance, frontier justice, etc. Of course given that many of these people are out there and feeling betrayed by the world, there would be some who took lawlessness to extremes.

Hopefully I create an interesting story with characters to hold your attention and the requisite amount of sex. This was actually written as one continuous story. I decided to break it into three parts because of length. So to me they aren't sequels.

Starting to post my first story. I see there is a box called 'synopsis' and a box called 'introduction'. Are these compulsory or can I leave them blank? I don't want to give away the point of the story before anyone has read it.

And does anyone have any recommendations about which of the boxes to tick at the bottom about allowing comments and votes?

 

Have they fixed the issue with finding the latest stories from authors by clicking their profile?

 

I personally enable the comments and the ratings. That helps me see how my writing is being received. I've gotten a lot of good feedback on the one story that I've published that's helped me a lot in writing more.

I restarted my interest in erotica after a long hiatus. When I first was into it, The Story of O was making main stream headlines. I was very surprised to find that that sort of story was hardly to be found. I got feedback that my stories were "old style." Good feedback was that they were "in the vein of classic French erotica." Well, that was flattering.
Questions to you other authors: Do you write and/or appreciate "pure erotica?" That is, with little contextual story to go with it.

I'm hoping to publish my stories here as soon as I post 6 comments.

This is still not fixed? I won't be posting anything until this is repaired. Yes, it shows up in 'latest stories' and 'my stories' but not if a user wants to see 'all' your stories - new ones are missing, as if they don't exist.

 

Is there a waiting period for a posted story to show up in sexstories.com? I see that the most recent in the "Latest Stories" group is from 20 hours ago.

Also, is it normal for this sub-forum (authors lounge) to be displayed oldest first? I have to click on "LAST" to get the most recent posts, and then scroll to the bottom. Have I somehow sorted it wrong? I didn't think it was this way when I first saw it.

 

Well I'm glad someone asked. Very new here. Can I consdier this one of my six posts??

 

I would like to start writing and posting stories. I get ideas but struggle to work out how to start the story. Once I have got something written down, it sounds so bad a kindergarten child could come up with and write a better story

 

A suggestion - When you get an idea write it out. Then go back to it and make improvements to it. Start with a shorter story so that you don't need as many details. Many people start with a brief description/introduction to the characters so we can imagine them. They don't HAVE to be extremely detailed. What I've done it take ideas from my life. My admittedly not very sexually exciting life and expand on what could have happened or might have happened to make it exciting. If you have something unique, either location or situation, go from there.

Also, reread and edit your story a lot. You'll be surprised at what you miss the first few times. Some here don't care, but many of us won't give much time to a story that is hard to read. So paragraphs, punctuation, make sure we know who is spreaking if there's dialog. Spelling and grammar do count. You'll get more and better replies that way.

And every writer here had a first story. You can't get to the second or the tenth without a first.

I am hoping to be able to get something written down, that won't be too embarrassing to post. Haha
