We post stories for many reasons. Because we need to, because we have something to say, or an idea to get across. I've been here a bit under two years and have over 80 stories posted. Almost half of them are in the original "Naked Day" series which in all honesty was very hit or miss. Looking back, I really like some of them and more than a few I wonder, what the hell.

Anyway, the reason for this post. I know there have been discussions on view totals, bots, etc. As for myself, I've never done anything to boost totals on sexstories.com. I'm sometimes surprised by how quickly the views can accumulate for some stories and wonder why others get missed or skipped. But it's a way for me to have an idea of what people like. I'm not sure if I have submitted my story or not. When I look at it at Hot Porn.com it says its status is in 'edit mode'. When I click on edit, I still seem to be able to edit it but the only option in the drop-down menu at the end of the story is 'publish my story'. The 'continue editing' option has gone. Does that mean it's submitted?

Does anyone know anything about how the number of times read is calculated? I read three different stories and the counts on those stories didn't change. And, as someone else pointed out, some stories get many thousands of reads in a 24 hour period, while others get less than a thousand. Do you all trust those stats?

 

I seriously can’t believe they haven’t fixed the issue of not displaying all of an author’s stories. I have to wonder what they broke to cause this. I’m a software developer; I know how simple of an operation it should be.
