How It’s Done: CBS Reporter Goes Against Grain, Torches Pelosi’s ‘Set-Up’ Claim in HaircutGate
Posted at 1:30 pm on September 3, 2020 by Sister Toldjah

    ——

While many in the mainstream media have predictably rushed to defend House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hypocritical Monday trip to a shuttered San Francisco hair salon for a haircut and highlights, at least one journalist has dared to go against the grain with critical comments condemning her actions and her excuse-making and blame games.

San Francisco salon owner Erica Kious has received bad reviews and death threats after Pelosi (D-CA) bizarrely accused her of a “set-up” over the leaked video footage, which was published Tuesday.

Kathryn Watson, a White House reporter for CBS News digital, took to the Twitter machine not long after the news first broke of Pelosi’s display of double standards. Watson first responded to a tweet reporting that a spokesman for Pelosi proclaimed she didn’t know she’d done anything wrong by going to the salon.

“The closed signs on the salons might be a good indicator” that it’s closed, Watson pointed out, noting that one salon not far from where her parents live had a sign clearly posted on the front door noting it was closed thanks to California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom:

The next day, Watson made it clear she wasn’t buying Pelosi’s preposterous claim of a “set-up”, and also stated that as a top public official in California, Pelosi should be well aware of what the pandemic rules are in her city and state by now:

Watson then went on to note that there was no need whatsoever for Pelosi to have been maskless even while her hair was wet, and hinted that the House Speaker could have easily arranged for the stylist to come to her home for the appointment instead of having the salon make an exception for her:

The reporter followed-up a few minutes later by panning Pelosi’s “set-up” claim yet again:

Thank you, Ms. Watson, for showing what actual journalism looks like.

Pelosi has spent months – months – alleging Republicans are putting people’s lives at risk when they don’t follow recommended CDC guidelines and when they call for businesses to be allowed to reopen so people can feed their families and pay their bills.

In fact, the very day of her salon appointment (Monday) Pelosi went on MSNBC to lecture Trump and the GOP on mask-wearing and social distancing during the Republican National Convention.

Pelosi has no one to blame but herself for this situation. She got hoisted by her own petard and doesn’t like it, so now she, her family, her supporters, and even her stylist are trying to destroy Kious for pointing out the obvious of why it should be okay for her salon to open for everyone if exceptions can be made for powerful Democrats like Pelosi.

Watson is right on the money here. Pelosi feigning ignorance about what the rules are in her state and claiming this was all a “set-up” is a very bad look for her, no matter how nice her haircut and highlights might look when she appears on MSNBC and CNN for puff-piece interviews.

If she wasn't willingly doing something she knows is wrong, she wouldn't be "set up".....

She's a liar and a fraud... She shamefully tries to blame others for her own actions.

Who made her go to the salon stumbler???

There's an old saying in politics; The cover up is usually more damaging than the crime.

It so applies in this case. Who gives a flying fuck if Nancy Antoinette got her hair done in a salon, violating her own states standards of pandemic social distancing?

But to watch her now, back pedaling and denying and pointing fingers, well, it just exposes how morally bankrupt the old gal is.
And coincidentally how morally bankrupt rear admiral motherfucker is.

"It was clearly a setup," she said. "I take responsibility for falling for a setup by a neighborhood salon I’ve gone to for many years.”

The eSalon's owner, Erica Kious, denied Pelosi's claim. She said that her salon had been closed for months because of the pandemic and that she found Pelosi's remarks "hurtful."

"I just thought about, you know, my staff and people not being able to work and make money and provide for their families. And if she's in there comfortably, without a mask and feeling safe, then why are we shut down?" Kious told Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Wednesday evening.
    One would have thought Nancy Antoinette would have taken a lesson from Bill Clinton's book when caught out, and simply said something like;
"Well, in a moment of weakness I went to get my hair done, you know, so I'd look nice, and should have given it a second thought. I could have had my stylist come to my home and we'd have shared chocolate ice cream and there wouldn't have been any issue at all. I messed up. I apologize."
And the fuss would have been over by the 5 O'Clock news.
But no, ol Nancy has to double down, declaring that a salon owner "set her up" (now, there's one smart salon owner, to set up the highest ranking woman in the most powerful nation on earth) and claiming she was given bad information about how salons can operate in California.

Sounds kind of whiny, and disingenuous.

So, while the news leads with an unverified allegation that President Trump calling military losers and suckers, Nancy Antoinettes scandal of the week over her hair styling exceptionalism slides into oblivion.

    Why is that?

It's more to get the riots out of the news because they suddenly figured out that the voters didn't seeing them on the news every night. However instead of trying to do anything about stopping the riots they did their next best trick of deflecting attention onto another issue. Unfortunately the groups protesting and rioting out there won't be ignored for long and they will pull something soon enough to get the limelight again.

It turns out Nancy Pelosi's "I was set up!" excuse is working with everyone.

Protesters gather at SF home of Nancy Pelosi, hang up hair curlers after salon visit
Some of the protesters were described as angry salon customers, reports said

House Speaker Pelosi says salon owner owes her an apology; reaction on 'The Greg Gutfeld Show.'

More than a dozen protesters gathered outside the San Francisco home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday following her controversial visit to a salon in the city, according to reports.

The rally occurred after Pelosi was captured on video getting her hair cut inside eSalonSF, even though it was closed due to coronavirus-related ordinances. Some of the protesters, described as "angry salon customers" wore hair curlers, while others hung blow dryers in a tree outside the residence to express their frustration.

“What she has done is slap the face of not just a salon owner but every woman every man every person who’s unemployed in the state of California who has lost their jobs and lost their livelihoods many of whom are my friends,” one protester said, San Francisco's KRON-TV reported.

Salons in San Francisco had been closed since March and were only notified that they could reopen on Sept. 1 for outdoor hairstyling services only.

According to a video posted by SF Chronicle reporter Jessica Christian, the group decorated a tree outside the home with an American flag, declaring it the "Freedom Tree."

The protesters would also gather in a circle outside the residence.

"[We] gather to make sure that everybody has an opportunity to earn a living and feed their families," one protester said before the group raised their hands in unison.

Mayor London Breed was asked on Friday about the protesters. She said it was time to “move on.”

"I get that they have these feelings, they are voicing their feelings, but we are doing the very best we can and I know that's not good enough for them, I understand," Breed told Los Angeles's KABC-TV. "I get it, but at the end of the day, it is really time for us to move on."

Security footage obtained by Fox News, and timestamped Monday at 3:08 p.m. PT showed Pelosi, D-Calif., walking through the salon with wet hair, and without a mask over her mouth or nose.

Pelosi would say that she was “set up” at the hair salon by the owner, Erica Kious, adding that she had been there “over the years many times.” The owner has denied those allegations.

    [IMG]Video
Kious had said she viewed Pelosi’s visit as a double standard.

“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” Kious told Fox News, adding that she “can’t believe” the speaker didn’t have a mask on. (From the footage, it appears Pelosi had some kind of covering around her neck.)

Meanwhile, the San Francisco cosmetologist who reportedly worked on Pelosi's hair during the visit this week attempted last Wednesday to distance himself from Kious. Through a statement issued by his lawyer, hair stylist Jonathan DeNardo said Kious appeared to be "furthering a setup of Speaker Pelosi for her own vain aspirations."

It seams Mitt Romney decided to let his inner Trump out and to troll Nancy Pelosi on twitter.

Romney tweets home haircut pic, quips 'better salon than Pelosi's'
Romney mocks Pelosi after uproar over her visit to a California salon, defying local coronavirus guidelines

Pelosi calls salon visit 'a setup'; Claudia Cowan reports.

Sen. Mitt Romney mocked Nancy Pelosi after tweeting a picture of his wife giving him a haircut at home, saying it was a “better salon” than the one the House speaker visited in defying local coronavirus guidelines.

“Getting cleaned up for resumption of the Senate,” Romney, R-Utah, tweeted Monday. “Better salon than Pelosi’s!

Romney tweeted a photo of himself getting his hair cut from his wife Ann Romney, outside his home.

Romney’s tweet comes after Pelosi, D-Calif., made headlines after visiting a San Francisco hair salon for a wash and blowout, despite local ordinances keeping salons closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In security footage obtained exclusively by Fox News, and timestamped Monday, Aug. 31, at 3:08 p.m. Pacific Time, the California powerhouse is seen walking through ESalonSF in San Francisco with wet hair, and without a mask over her mouth or nose.

The stylist doing her hair can be seen following her wearing a black face mask.

Salons in San Francisco had been closed since March and were only notified they could reopen on Sept. 1 for outdoor hairstyling services only.

Pelosi dug in over the controversy and claimed that she was “set up” at the hair salon, which she said she had been to “over the years many times.”

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I have been to many times,” Pelosi told reporters Wednesday. “When they said they could accommodate people one at a time, and we can set up that time, I trusted that.”

“The salon owes me an apology for setting me up,” she added.

Pelosi, on Wednesday, downplayed the fact that she didn’t wear a mask in the salon.

“I just had my hair washed. I don’t wear my mask when I’m washing my hair,” she said. “Do you wear one when you wash your hair?”

We take note that the President doesn't wear a mask when washing his hair either.

Rank-and-File Democrats Revolting Against Nancy Pelosi over Coronavirus Aid

    SEAN MORAN15 Sep 2020

Rank-and-file Democrats have increasingly become frustrated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) brinksmanship-style negotiations with congressional Republicans and President Donald Trump.

Politico reported that Pelosi has continued to pursue her hardline approach in negotiations with Republicans, demanding a coronavirus bill around $2.2 trillion.

The report arises as many coronavirus programs created by the CARES Act have languished over Pelosi’s reluctance to compromise with Trump and congressional Republicans.

However, her reluctance to find a middle ground with moderate Democrats has infuriated many of her most vulnerable members.

Senate Democrats rejected a targeted coronavirus aid bill sponsored by Senate Republicans last week.

During a call with the moderate New Democrat Coalition and Democrat leadership on Tuesday, Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) asked Pelosi why the House would not stay in session until they pass a deal. In response, the Speaker said to “take a poll of your colleagues.”

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), who represents a district Trump won in 2016 by more than six percent, said during the call, “My conviction is to actually do my goddamn job and come up with a solution for the American people. We have to bring something to the floor.”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), the second highest-ranking Democrat, has pushed for Pelosi to change her strategy but said he would not “undermine” Pelosi.

Rep. Max Rose (D-NY), another swing district Democrat, said, “Every member of the leadership team, Democrats and Republicans, have messed up. Everyone is accountable. Get something done. Get something done!”

In response to concerned Democrats, Pelosi said, “A skinny deal is not a deal. It is a Republican bill.”

“We can wait around forever for the proposal we think is the perfect proposal, and that obviously won’t be helpful to anybody. Time is of the essence here,” Rep. Jason Crow, a freshman swing district Democrat, said.

Rep. Kendra Horn (D-OK), a freshman swing district Democrat, said, “What truly ‘falls short’ is doing nothing. It is flatly unacceptable that congressional leadership is not at the table when businesses are closing, Americans are out of work, and families need help. The political games have to stop.”

Pelosi Awkwardly Tries to Cry During Interview but Doesn’t Remotely Sell It Well
Posted at 12:30 pm on September 16, 2020 by Brandon Morse

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t going to win any awards for acting. The only emotion she can seem to muster is anger from time to time and that’s the only thing she can seem to sell with honesty.

While Pelosi is known for trying to sell quite a bit of nonsense to the American people, the latest thing she tried to get us to buy are tears.

During an Mornging Joe interview on MSNBC, Pelosi was speaking as she normally does while talking about the subject of climate change as demonstrated by the California wildfires and hurricanes approaching the gulf coast. She then changed gears to the subject of the Coronavirus where she declared that “they” (meaning Republicans) have a “contempt for science.”

That’s when Pelosi, like a bad actor in a school play, suddenly shifts emotional tones. There’s no gradual lead up to the change. Her voice doesn’t crack as she tries to hold back her sorrow. Pelosi suddenly dips her head, places her hands on her chest, and begins to choke through her words.

“That’s why almost 200,000 people will lose their lives by the end of this week,” she says looking back up at the camera.

The Speaker repeats the number as if holding back tears. She then immediately switches gears back to being regular Pelosi with nary an emotion to see.

She finishes with some word salad, sans sadness.

“And that’s why their contempt for science as to what the — uh…uh — the climate crisis is.

Not only is this embarrassing for Pelosi, but it’s also insulting to the viewer.

Pelosi is attempting to display the fact that she cares about the lives being lost to the Coronavirus but it’s hard to believe that given the fact that she seems okay with flagrantly disobeying the rules she herself supports. In fact, when she’s caught breaking them, she adamant that she is owed the apology. She feels she doesn’t owe one herself to anybody.

(READ: Pelosi Responds to Getting Caught Maskless at the Salon and It Only Made Things So Much Worse)

Does Pelosi actually care about the lives lost? One would hope so, but if she truly cared then she would likely direct her party to open the states back up. Not only are the states that stayed in lockdown help nothing, but their economies are crashing, people are being driven further into poverty, and suicides are skyrocketing.

The data shows that the House Speaker and the Democrats’ strategy of keeping their states in lockdown is doing more harm than good and opening up would do nothing but help. Doing so, however, would get the economy back into a good territory and since that’s the best card Trump has to play it would be disastrous for the Democrat party to have solid economic numbers coming in as well as a whole host of “I told you so’s” from the Republican party and its supporters.

If that happened, Pelosi may actually shed real tears.

House Freedom Caucus Looks to Bounce Pelosi as Speaker Before the Election
Posted at 1:40 pm on September 17, 2020 by Scott Hounsell

The House Freedom Caucus, a group of GOP Congresspersons have attempted to push Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to make a procedural move to replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker before the upcoming 2020 Presidential Election.

The Freedom Caucus, which has played an integral role in the past in the fights for the Speakership, is attempting to tie moderate democrats in swing districts to the controversial Speaker, who has drawn quite a bit of criticism of late for her “rules for thee, but not for me” attitude when it comes to her style of leadership.

    Politico reports:

“House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is the only GOP member who can offer a “motion to vacate the chair” and force a floor vote on whether Pelosi can retain the speaker’s gavel, according to House rules implemented at the start of this Congress. McCarthy apparently has not yet decided whether he will support the insurgent effort. But McCarthy did agree to hold a GOP conference meeting next Tuesday to discuss the idea, according to Republican sources — a sign that he is at least giving serious consideration to deploying the procedural weapon.”

Should Republicans be able to make such a move, it would require that all members vote in support or opposition of the current Speaker. Unfortunately, though Progressive members of the House have motioned opposition to Pelosi in the past, it is unlikely that they will divorce themselves from the Speaker during the election season. Such a split could cause significant waves in the unity the Democrats have coalesced for November.

Forcing moderate democrats in swing districts to supporting Pelosi could make for an advantage for their Republican challengers in those districts. According to RCP and the RCP Average, Pelosi only has a 37.6% approval rating, below that of President Donald Trump. Pelosi remains more popular amongst voters than either Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell or Senator Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. Should moderate Dems have to take a position of support for the Speaker and commit to a vote, challengers could immediately use that vote as a point for media and mail hits on the incumbents.

While this is a long-shot bid, should McCarthy agree to the vote, it should make for some interesting fireworks in the House for a few days.
