I see the Brazilian variant has been found in the UK now.

That's a bit of an added concern ,
having a couple of improved versions that can now mix n match.

Good job they're well into vaccinating ,
and hopefully can beat another variant becoming dominant and rampant.

It is the UK variant that is causing problems here at the moment ,
and it is proving more tricky.

It dosen't always show up in first tests , then dose later ,
and
it has a longer tail.
That is new cases pop up later when the original version would have been finished.

it has a veriety of generally new/different symptoms for many.

 

I just got my second vaccine a couple hours ago. And so far at least I don't have any side effects. My wife and I got the Pfizer vaccine which seems to be performing the best against the variants.

The message President Biden and his administration are pushing is the best way to stop the variants is for everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible, as well as continuing to wear masks, keep social distancing, and washing hands.

But unfortunately that may be easier said than done because of the number of Trump RatLickers in the US who still believe its a hoax designed to bring Trump down.

before international tourism gets going again.

The sooner the better I would think.

Cut down the risks to airline , airport , and border staff hugely also.

They've all had a pretty horrendous time over the last year , working with the constant threat ,

I suspect some , maybe many airlines will require vaccine passports just to get on planes ,
