It's interesting to note that the OP's courtship with XNXX didn't even make it a week - good thing it wasn't a marriage.

Marriage is fine for some. For me, been there, done that - never again.

It's not easy, it's not without problems...but if you respect each other, you can work through the problems.

 

I was married September 1972 & it was dissolved in November 2006, 4 days after her 54th birthday(34yrs).
I was lucky as she loved me unconditionally even after I put her through Hell. If we have do overs than God knows my wishes if Heaven than I hope I am forgiven & get to join her if it's nothing than life itself is Hell for some.

 

Thats a very nice way of putting it... i totally agree..... but i guess if your outlook on sex is different, then you could be in trouble.

 

Indeed, having that chat when one party has zero interest in sex or discussions is very difficult. speaking from experience.

 

My parents were married when my mother was seventeen and my father twenty four. They got divorced once but got back together and lived together the rest of their lives. Their six children, five have been divorced at least once with four of them having been divorced four times and one never married.
Seven years is the limit I have lasted with any of my wives or significant others. Just can't get to that eighth year.

 

I personally never see it happening. But if others like the idea, more power to them. I enjoy seeing happy couples. It gives hope.

 

I always chringe when I hear of a couple that have been living together for a while are getting married as it usually ends in divorce.

 

Marriage is a good thing . Always marry someone with a birthday that is close to yours .

I'm old fashioned on this: IMHO, Legal marriage should only be considered if the couple wants to start a family. I am a strong proponent of the family unit, and how that security generally produces children that, with loving care from both parents, can proceed at majority out on their own into the world with a good set of values, work ethic and ambition, thus ensuring (hopefully) a good measure of success.

Period.

Anything besides that strikes me as some weird kind of misguided 'Relationship Security'.

Still, I do understand how those vows are very important to some.

 

Marriage is a cluster fuck of wonderful moments and some not so great ones. It's like wanting to climb on that roller coaster cause it's so exciting. Then there are so many unexpected twists and turns. Sometimes you just think holy fuck i want off!! This is so scary!! But what about how it has my heart pounding out of my chest? I love that feeling. Sometimes it's like that ferris wheel ride. That slow ride up so high. Then you're just suspended in mid air as if time stood still. Looking around thinking, this is such a lovely view. Then you hear this noise and you start to feel so unsafe like the whole ride was for nothing and you're sure it's just gonna fall apart. Then you slowly start moving again and you make it to the bottom together safely and you think to yourself. This was equally fun and yet so frightening.

It's like your favorite songs you wanna hear over and over. Some just because they make you want to dance and you feel so alive. Then others because you feel like torturing yourself because they just make you wanna cry. It's like all these variations of sound waves coming together to form some kind of pattern or rhythm. Sometimes all the noise seems better than the silence. Are you confused yet? That's marriage!! Lol

 

Hopefully it never happens to me

 

I was engaged three times in my 20's and 30's but never got married, so I guess I'm not meant to be married. But, there's No doubt I'm a passionate romantic LoL.

On the other hand, my parents were very happily married for fifty years, so when my dad passed away suddenly of a heart attack she Lost her Best friend. My brother has also been married for over twenty years now to a woman 10 years his junior, and they have three great kids.

So I guess it's a me problem, because Marriage obviously works Great for some people.

 

Never Married, because I didn't want to be divorced. Nothing worse than having half of everything You ever earned , taken by someone you spent most of it on! Then being prison sentenced to keep doing so ! If she wants out, then walk , with only whats hers ! Not my job to provide her afterwards too! Child support is legit !
Alimoney is phony ! You want out, it is not up to me to feed your lifestyle when I gave you that lifestyle. You don't want it any more, so I dont have to keep you in it!

 

All women want to marry above their station, cut from the same cloth and fueled by their mothers choices! They seek instant gratification, and a promise of Life of Ease! Dissapointed when they haven't been given it, they seek other avenues! The cost to others does not matter!
