Hey everyone! So I was wondering what everyone's music taste is here! I love everything like a true music fangirl should, but what stood out to me is all metal, old school arena rock, punk, emo, and metalcore/deathcore (like Carnifex, Oceano, Attack Attack, and Woe Is me). I'm enticed with what others listen to here, being a music loving gal. :3

I love pretty much any music type - except Jazz - Jazz just does my head in - hate it - so classical music, rock, punk, rap, heavy metal etc etc etc - all good - except jazz - hope i've made that clear - I HATE jazz

 

It's okay Jazz ain't my cup of tea either :3 now metal jazz is onto something!!! Also, rap is pretty nice too ain't gonna lie :3

I love classical music the best. I like traditional music of other cultures, like China, Japan, and India. I like folk music of the British isles. I appreciate jazz, blues, rock & roll, and soul music.

Depends on what I'm doing. When I'm working out I listen to a lot of rock and metal. If I'm studying I will listen to electronica or house. It has to be non-verbal so I can focus on the task at hand. When I'm gaming I listen to similar stuff or the Skyrim soundtrack. My go-to genre is metal and rock, though. There's rarely a bad time to play a Tool song.

 

I like a lot of things, except rap and hip hop. I guess my favorite go-to is blues-tinged rock, especially with a Southern bent to it.

 

Hard to pick out which genre I do or don't like. There is something in every musical genre that I like. As well as things I don't particularly care for.
But my "Go-To" selection will always be Classic Rock.
And when I want to annoy the piss out of everyone and be left alone, I crank up the Bagpipe music

 

Good music with a melody and lyrics, stuff that I like.
My general go to is late 50s to early 70s Rock and Roll.
Hey I am a boomer and if you look at the 60s there was good music, great bands practically every day.

 

I love a variety. I enjoy alternative, indie, pop, classical, R&B, techno, blues, rock and some country. Pretty much like everything but hardcore punk and some of the newer rap is annoying to me.

 

For me, it's mainstream rock, hard rock, metal and 90s alternative (SXM 037, 038, 039, 040, 041 are my sat. faves). It's probably laziness but I don't 'seek out' new genres, I listen to what's playing and, if I don't like the playlist, I go to another channel/station.

 

I do not like the lyrics of "The East is Red." They praise Mao Tse Tung. I do like the music.

 

I rarely listen to radio, either regular or online streaming. My top 2 artists are NIN and the Doors, but here's some of the rest of what's on my old 160G ipod classic at the moment:

Monster Magnet, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tech N9ne, Prince, Type O Negative, Howlin Wolf, Hank 3, Johnny Cash, Peaches, Cypress Hill, John Lee Hooker, Hopsin, Metallica, Danzig, Offspring, Shooter Jennings, Six Feet Under, Pantera, Muddy Waters, Alice in Chains, Pigface, Lords of Acid, Bryan Adams, etc

Anyways, not sure I have a favorite genre, but partially due to NIN being a fave, I do like a lot of industrial, too.

 

Heavy Metal, classic rock and progressive rock.
Some favourite bands would be Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Marillion (Fish era), Genesis, Dream Theater.
I also really enjoy listening to movie soundtracks. Mostly sci-fi and action movies of the late 70's through to 90's. Vangelis's work on Blade Runner is absolutely beautiful. Fell in love with that soundtrack when my dad bought it on CD. A few years before I'd even seen the film!
