    Now I have a dilemma, my wife just called, she may be coming to the boat tonight, she has been out of town for a week and is thinking of coming here rather than to stay in the city. Since I spent 4+ nights a week with just the dog for dinner, I usually pull something out the freezer the day before for my evening meal.

    Having been a typical bachelor it for a week, the inside of the boat needs some attention, vacuum, change the liens, do the dishes, clean the heads and dust. Do I do that and forget about going to the store (1-1/2 hour round trip) or make spaghetti for dinner, since it's the only thing that I have that is not frozen, that would feed us both.

    Decisions, decisions.

    Spaghetti and clean the boat. Doesn't have to be perfect, but dishes, vacuum, and clean the heads at a minimum. She'll help with the linens.

      Yep, that's the plan. Bed linens have been changed, saloon vacuumed, galley and stateroom swept out, trash ready to go to the dumpster.

      Now I need to shower, shave, clean the heads, do the dishes and put the sauce on. Oh, and put all my tools away, I've been changing out our 110v AC electrical panels, gotta tidy that up. But I still have about 2 hours

      The one I had was supposed to be chicken curry,, that's the best tasting one,, most of the other taste all the same,, but it just about getting the calories into you,, each pack contains 4000,,, when you've been eating them as long as I have it's just fuel to keep you going,, the hot chocolate you get in them is about the best thing in them

    Bacon and onion sauteed for about ten minutes. Add some diced, fresh tomato and put into 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cook some pasta (linguini or spaghetti) to al dente.

    Combine pasta with bacon mix, add a bit of sour cream and some Italian herbs (oregano, basil, parsley). Mix well and put back in oven for an additional five minutes.

    Serve with garlic toast!

    Anybody want a nice spaghetti dinner on a boat? Seems like it's just me and the dog doesn't tolerate meatballs well.

    After all of the running around, getting the boat ready, my wife will not be coming to the boat tonight. No problem, she just got her luggage and is stuck in the airport parking garage waiting for someone to fix the freakin' exit gate. Since it is an hour, plus drive to the boat we decided it's best if she remains in the city tonight.

    And no, I did not tell her that I busted my ass trying to get ready for her arrival.

      One way to do polenta is to mix up a batch. Spread it over a sheet tray lined with parchment paper about 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick and put into an oven with low heat, and bake until the whole thing has set. Allow to cool. Cut strips as wide as it is thick, and then into sticks for eating. Before eating, fry with butter until golden brown.

    Wife decided to come to the boat tonight, steak on hold, just finished a nice supreme pizza! The couple of IPAs with it made it a gourmet experience, my wife here after more than a week made it romantic.

    Boyfriend threw chicken thighs in the crock pot with a marinade, likely made up of honey, soy and teriyaki sauce.. I'm sure there's more to it, but he's not home yet. If it doesn't have honey, it has Italian dressing. Either way, I opened the door and the smell of it made me drool a little.
