Sure it does, things that happen, weather when your young or an adult, what you experience, witness. Have to deal with, will shape you, your attitudes, beliefs, who you become.
I was born and raised in Chicago, the southside, Chicago is a very segregated and racist town. I was brought up racist, because I didn't know better. It was what I was exposed to.
It was the past that shaped it. The neighborhood I grew up in was white. The 60s and 70s when I was in school, were some rough times. Just about all the kids I knew, their parents, as well as mine, came from different areas of South Chicago. Those neighborhoods in the 40s and 50s were white, after the war, the mills were booming, and blacks, people of color, came from the south, east, to work in the mills. White fright was what it is called, the parents of kids my age, watched the neighborhoods change. From white to black, and get run down, crime rates went up, and racism was the driving factor.
People moved to the suburbs or into the few remaining white neighborhoods. People that worked for the city had to live within the city. So these neighborhoods had plenty of police, firemen, sanitation workers, teachers, and the attitude was they were going to stay white.
I started to learn very young, we were different from them, better. As a kid it was just the way it was, the right or wrong was never questioned. I also found out young something wasn't right. Second grade, I think might of been third, first day of school, first black teacher I had, thinking back probably the first black person I actually had some kind of contact with. Well at some point that day, the teacher called on me, to do something or stop doing something, being the ignorant nosepicker I was, simply told her, I don't have to listen to you, your a n____r. The class all laughed, I was thinking my dad would be proud of me, well got sent to the office, mom got called, and had to come to the school. Thinking back on it, what she had to go though, anyway, finished the school day, starting to realize I was in trouble, but not sure why. That was an understatement, trouble, ass kicked, grounded, all to make sure I didn't do it again, I didn't.
But that was the first time The realization set in, something was not what I had been lead to believe. That teacher had her hands full with me, but by the end of the year, she had become the best teacher I had though out grammar school.
But that didn't end the racism, the school was white, blacks didn't come into our neighborhood, we didn't go into theirs. It started to change civil rights, was witness to massive race riots, chased blacks, throw rocks, did whatever the situation called for. Encouraged to do so. Got into high school, their were some kids that had to take city buses to there homes though black niegbhood, many times, they would get jumped, the next day, we went with them on the bus, jumped the kids that did the beating the day before.
It took some time, but realized the problem wasn't because they were black, it was the way we were brought up. Many times I would convince myself I wasn't racist anymore, but I was. Not as I was in the past, but still racist.
What happened 40, 50, 60 years ago has plenty to do with what goes on today. People of color are still discriminated, still looked down on, still have less opportunity, it may have change over the years, but it is still alive and well, racism.
I still learn, how different our existence is. Would like to believe I no longer have any racist views, and see things completely different, but I still learn, keep an open mind.
I come to a understanding, racism in any form is wrong, white on black, black on white, brown, yellow, in any combinations. Racism is hate, plan as it can be said. But how to fix it or stop it. Took some time, but As much as I wish I could fix it, stop it, I can not.
Everything has an opposite, lying and yang, day and night, pain and pleasure, sunshine and rain, love and hate. Hate is racism, racism is hate. Anyone who believes it will go away doesn't see it for what it is, hate, someone will always hate. The best any one of us can do, is be the better person, no matter the situation, be the better person everyday.
It won't fix or stop racism, but it will make it better. It is a complicated issue, thousands of different experiences, and views, justifications, and ignorance. There is no cure all. Be the better person.

 

Nope No white here unless you refere to my skeleton whish by the way is the same whitness and any other human on earth, For me it depends on the season, Winter Months I am pale beige or pinkish and in the summer months I get a medium brown or medium dark tan,

 

I really do not understand white flight. I have hears about it and how terrible it is but just don't understand why anyone would complain about it.
Most people want to live in an area where their family is safe. They enjoy seeing well kept homes and lawns. No one enjoys being a victim of a crime.
Why would anyone blame a person for moving out of an area where crime was increasing, junk cars were lined up in the yards, where the homes were allowed to fall down and the lawns never mowed?
I would think that person who moved out of such an area really cared about their family.

 

Stereotypes are usually over generalizations of what is really true. There is no stereotype of a fat Chinese woman on welfare with five illegitimate children by five different men. There is no stereotype of the stupid, lazy Jewish man with several felony convictions and several illegitimate children he does noting to support.

Those who dislike Chinese and Jews compose different stereotypes. The stereotypes express resentment about the success and prosperity of Chinese Americans and Jews. Those who dislike Chinese claim that Chinese success is due to cheating. Those who dislike Jews claim that Jewish success is due to nepotism. Those who make these claims know full well that most Chinese and Jews are more intelligent than they are.

One of the slogans chanted by attendees at the Unite the Right rally held in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 11-12, 2017 was "Jews won't replace us."



That chant exposed a realistic fear. Jews will replace them. So will Chinese Americans. Alt rightists will be fired and replaced by more intelligent, better paid Jews and Chinese American, who will perform their jobs faster than they can, and better.

Jews and Chinese Americans will also design and program computers and industrial robots that perform their jobs faster, better, and less expensively.

The alt right attracts stupid, poorly educated, and poorly paid white men who would rather blame their problems on non whites, Jews, and liberals, than admit that they are becoming as obsolete as mules.

 

That ain't why we hate the chinese. We hate them for WUHAN. We hate them for melimine in our baby's formula. We hate them for lead paint in our children's toys. Those cheap mother fuckers need to be put in check.

Yes, there are some intelligent chinese, smarter than me, and probably most. That alone does not give them the right to exploit the world population for personal gain, and by god that's what every fucking single one of them does.

 

I have never known a Chinese American I did not like. My two best friends in high school were Chinese Americans. They introduced me to the Chinatown of the city we lived in a suburb of. Chinese Americans are not responsible for what you complain of. The dictatorship of mainland China is. Many of the things I own were made in China. I do not buy food products made on mainland China. Food products made in Taiwan are safe.

I expect China to have achieved world hegemony by the end of this century, if not sooner. I hope by then that the mainland adopts a democratic government. The success of democracy in Taiwan demonstrates that the Chinese nation can maintain democracy. As the sun sets on the West it rises on the East. Those who have young children or grandchildren should encourage them to learn Mandarin.

The East is not Red. It is the location of the future. Orientals deserve their title as "the model minority."

 

I am not proud of being white. That is because I was born that way. My whiteness is an attribute, not an achievement. I agree with Eric Hoffer, who wrote in The True Believer:

"The less justified a man is in claiming excellence for his own self, the more ready he is to claim all excellence for his nation, his religion, his race, or his holy cause."

I am religious, but I study and respect each of the world's great religions. I like to investigate political opinions that are not mine. I am neither a Nazi sympathizer, nor a Marxist. Nevertheless, I have read Mein Kampf, and I took a seminar on Das Kapital given by the American Communist Party.
